    Try at own risk, is a big job don't do if you are not sure of your skills. Make sure to put some grease inside the crank seal not oil was mistake in video. I ended up with a leaking crank seal 2 months after doing this job so change the crank shaft seal while doing this job. Also be very careful torqueing the bolts i ended up stripping one at only 10ft pounds so i would not not exceed that the chart i used must be wrong.

    You recommended a impact driver, but you didn’t use one yourself. Hense, the chain holding the tire down.

    • @chriss4365
      @chriss4365  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Chain was there to secure the wheel from theft because it was taken apart. I did not have the spanner tool or an impact at the time.

    Does this cause clicking ?y moped didn’t want to turn on today making a clicking noise so I think I need to change this

    • @chriss4365
      @chriss4365  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends, clicking could be a bad starter motor or bad battery.

      The starter clutch is glued? It's probably stuck on the wood ruf key.

    When do you put the starter gear on?!!!

    • @chriss4365
      @chriss4365  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can put it anytime, but you may need to maneuver the clutch and starter gear to get them to line up.

    Also , I'm not sure if that short amount of time ruined my gasket but in case it did, would it be okay to use high temp liquid gasket because I have a tube of that sitting around and I can't really afford to wait for a new gasket to show up because I use my scooter for work. I'm in the hospital right now for probably 4 or 5 days but as soon as I walk out of here I'm going back to work on that scooter. Thanks for any help you can give.

  • @chriss4365

    That is usually from it burning oil. the oil inside was shifted when it fell on the side. the motor wasn't on the normal position. It should go away after a few mins.

      The belt might just be worn out. Or the variator weights are stuck.

    Do i need Loctite on the castle nut? I just installed a replacement heavy duty starter clutch and about 20 miles of city riding(so maybe 20-30 starts), its back to just the spinning sound when i try to start. Im praying to god its just because i didnt use Loctite and the castle nut just came loose. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 🙏. Also, did you use a header gasket when reinstallingyour exhaust? Just curious.

    • @chriss4365
      @chriss4365  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the late reply, Yes I had a head gasket. The nut should be tightened with an impact tool and use the correct spanner nut tool found on eBay. You can use Loctite but only use the blue one. I recommend it on the case bolts as well. Once its closed you cannot reuse a gasket. I don't like the gasket maker but you can use it but you cant ass oil for 24 hours and have to follow instructions on the tube. Regular gasket you can add oil after install and run the engine no waiting 24 hours. You can find a high quality clutch on eBay they are mostly sold in china so are hard to find it will look very different than the standard trash ones that are sold. Be careful they have the better version on amazon but its made of cast iron and will break when used, don't buy it. Read the reviews and the cast iron one has a different look to it.

      Tap the sides of the cover with a rubber Mallett the gasket is holding it on. Also consider changing the crank seal while you got it open. Dont use high performance crank seals their too big and will leak.

    that's one hell of a long process.how do you know when its time to change the starter clutch? my scooter only has a few hundred miles, but now wont start, what does it sound like when the starter clutch fails?

    • @chriss4365
      @chriss4365  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can usually tell if its turning by how it sounds. Have a friend look at the fan if it turns when you try to start it then the clutch is ok. If the clutch is bad it should make some noises when trying to start the bike and or the fan wont spin.

      Guitars AndJams if you just need to know if starter is working take cover off where stator wires go into has 3 or 4 bolts think are #8 wrench try turning engine over with starter if fan housing is turning starter is working .now how did starter sound while trying starter if slow check batt voltage needs to be at least 11.5 volts for good turn over of motor.any questions i have most answers

    • @chriss4365
      @chriss4365  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can tell if it's the wrong size when you insert it. If it's wrong the bolt will stick out way too far. Otherwise mark each one and the cover with different color paint.

      @@Cito_Fiytb_617 find out where the leak is from. Only use scooter parts. I bet the crank seal is leaking. Open the cover if their is oil below the fan then it's the seal.

    • @chriss4365
      @chriss4365  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Proteus macapagal if you are referring to the nut on the starter clutch you use a adjustable wrench to remove it. It is reverse thread so turn it clock wise to remove it and counter clockwise to tighten. Don't follow the torque specs in my video they ended up being wrong. Snug the case bolts but be very easy to avoid stripping them.

    • @chriss4365
      @chriss4365  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not necessarily. Could be electrical issue or bad starter. You can remove the starter with a friend and hold the motor tight it will jump. Touch one of the bolt holes of the motor to the engine to ground it then have your friend start the bike and see if the starter spins.
