    i have two cats myself that i just started feeding raw. I was spending 80$ plus on canned food alone not to mention the toppers i would get them to boost the nutrients. After some research and finding your youtube i made the switch. I never realized how cheap raw feeding could be compared to higher quality food and toppers. Also gives me something to learn about!

      I'd like to transition my cat to a raw diet. He's only eating kibble and wet food; sardines, tuna and salmon when I can afford it.
      I definitely wanna visit the Asian market and get some organ meats .

    Now I'm about to adopt a 3-y-o FeLV+ kitty from the shelter...ths is right on point! I was wondering if you ever put any vegetable or fruit material in (such as birds or mice mice might eat)?

    Just wondered if I can ask a question here:
    I bought a ground complete mix for my cat in an online raw pet food shop. I thought the bones will be finely ground but after inspecting the product, i realised there are tiny bone pieces. I tried to remove as much bone as I can from one packet but it was taking me forever to do it, now I'm not sure what to do with the remaining packs. Will it be safe for my 5 month old cats if I just feed the ground mix to them?

    • @xeyladeath
      @xeyladeath ปีที่แล้ว

      ground bone in a cat grind is fine for your cats to eat, no need to pick it out. If you remove the bone pieces from the grind, it will decrease the amount of bone in it, which will make the food unbalanced.

    I'm always so grateful for your helpful information!
    A quick question, if i'm feeding my kitten 4-6 times a day, is that 4-6 small meals of that same whole meal that i've prepped? or would I prep a few whole meals to split throughout the day? I hope my question makes sense! it's something i've been a little confused about.

    • @PawsofPrey
      @PawsofPrey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No worries, this is a very common question! Ideally you should make a full day's worth of food, then split that into small feedings. That way your kitten will achieve nutritional balance by the end of each day.

      @@celestialsista2064 kittens eat a lot when they are under 9 months of age, they should be allowed to eat as much as they want during their meal times. This is why it is hard to gauge how much to portion for a day with young kittens, but after a few days of them eating, you will be able to estimate how much to portion. Kittens can eat up to 2.5x what an adult cat will eat, in one day.

      as dry food is not species appropriate for cats, i would suggest you at least persuade your parents to transition to a wet diet. you can join the feline nutrition group on Facebook for more transition help🙈

      Totally fine to do! But I wouldn't feed liver just because of how high in vitamin A it is (remember, the dry and wet food have all the essential nutrients fortified in it already, so you don't want to supply TOO much) muscle meats are great meal boosters though, as well as egg yolk and kefir. Meaty bones are fine to feed a few times a week for the teeth cleaning benefits.

    can plain yogurt with no additives substitute for kefir?

    • @hesherette
      @hesherette 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      kefir has a higher concentration + more diverse amount of probiotics so it's probably the better choice if you can find it. I do give my kitty a small plain, no additive greek yogurt "treat" maybe once a week bc he comes sprinting to me whenever I'm eating my greek yogurt lol

      @PawsofPrey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not comparative to kefir, but it's still fine to feed!

    Do you know of any vet schools that promote raw feeding I’m only 13 but I was just wondering

    • @ureignhere
      @ureignhere 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Unfortunately not. Vet schools have different curriculums each and depends on the country. On top of that, Vets don't know much about raw feeding because it will take another few decades for the research to be done. PLUS most vets are not certified for Nutriention, so they will just tell clients and the pets to buy a certain brand/s of pet food cause it's what's balanced and convenient. Not saying that kibble doesn't have it's value, as medicated kibble does wonders for sick pets, but normal pets just get obese or even suffer from lack of water, zinc and so on, making their skin dry, allergies act up and more, just from their diet. If you want more information, I recommend Girl with the Dogs Podcast on Yt featuring Dr Wolfe a Pet Nutritionist.

    hi!! don't you include egg?

    • @ureignhere
      @ureignhere 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You can, depends on your cat and what benefits the egg will give that day cause it has to be a part of their nutritional value.

    be careful with feeding too much liver, it can cause vitamin A overdose. my cat seemed to get dried blood stuck in her nose, possibly vitamin A toxicity. I reduced the amount of liver i gave her by half and her nose issue cleared away.

    Raw diet for cats is very important for their long time health and I love that. I want that for my cats. Idk call me simple. I would love to do this for my fur babes but I feel like I don't have the brain capacity to do this on my own. I could but it would the time consuming learning...How and what and etc. I have a hard enough time learning and teaching myself about my own nutrition and health. 😅 Is there something simpler? Like a dry food that closely mimics of a raw diet suggestions?

    Good until 5min. 40 sec, there you then decided to "Describe" what you are doing instead of instructing i.e. put this that and the-other in the prep to freeze and then at feeding add those and them -things instead of "the balance"
