    Mta greed, fare hikes plus congestion tolls. Theyll bleed you dry in nyc. Born and raised in brooklyn and disgusted by these politicians. You must be rich to live here.

      MTA needs to be audited, all the years of fare hike and still nothing. More fare hikes means more fare hopping.

    All that money isn’t gonna go to Mta, only to someone else’s pockets. Mta needs to be audited

    MTA is set to raise 800 million on congestion pricing for its first year. Meanwhile, fare evasion causes them 700+ million (let's call it 800). I guess that is their way of solving the short fall...

    • @BKME19
      @BKME19 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I’m still wondering how they even calculate the fair evasion costs! For as much as I take the train and have in all types of parts of the 4 main boroughs, only a minimal amount of people jump the turnstiles or get on from the back of the bus as compared to the ones who pay. The MTA just making up numbers.

      you can thank the governor for lowering the price and removing high traffic price increases. would probably have been double that amount

    I’ll do my part and avoid Manhattan. I can also avoid New York City. Might as well avoid the entire State of New York.

    Audit the MTA and publish the results. Then arrest the embezzlers, starting with Hochul and her cronies.

    This is unfair to native New Yorkers. What about people who need to drive their elderly loved ones to appointments. Not everyone is a young gentrifying hipster who takes the train everywhere. Believe it or not, there are elderly folks who have lived here for decades & often have to go into the city with assistance from a vehicle.
    That is just ONE of the MANY reasons why this is unfair. The list is long!

    • @jimgeo1000
      @jimgeo1000 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You pay the $9 if you're not eligible for discounts and in exchange for that small fee you get there faster because you don't have to deal with as much traffic. It's a win-win.

    • @BKME19
      @BKME19 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      @no one has the right to tell anyone what a “small fee” is. And don’t start with the excuse if you have a car then $9 is nothing. It all adds up in this world where these corporations and governments are making everything more and more expensive for everyday people with little-no-change in return.

    So i wont rehash everything already said cuz this is stupid. But the news video is also stupid - this isn't a "deadline", it's just the last day to apply to avoid paying full price on day 1. You can still apply for discounts/exemptions going forward as normal, just expect it to take a minute to kick in

    Even if the mta gets all this money, the issues are still not going to get resolved. The 7 line alone has had signal problems for over 50 years and it’s still not fixed. This money is going elsewhere.
