Mta greed, fare hikes plus congestion tolls. Theyll bleed you dry in nyc. Born and raised in brooklyn and disgusted by these politicians. You must be rich to live here.
MTA is set to raise 800 million on congestion pricing for its first year. Meanwhile, fare evasion causes them 700+ million (let's call it 800). I guess that is their way of solving the short fall...
I’m still wondering how they even calculate the fair evasion costs! For as much as I take the train and have in all types of parts of the 4 main boroughs, only a minimal amount of people jump the turnstiles or get on from the back of the bus as compared to the ones who pay. The MTA just making up numbers.
This is unfair to native New Yorkers. What about people who need to drive their elderly loved ones to appointments. Not everyone is a young gentrifying hipster who takes the train everywhere. Believe it or not, there are elderly folks who have lived here for decades & often have to go into the city with assistance from a vehicle. That is just ONE of the MANY reasons why this is unfair. The list is long!
You pay the $9 if you're not eligible for discounts and in exchange for that small fee you get there faster because you don't have to deal with as much traffic. It's a win-win.
@no one has the right to tell anyone what a “small fee” is. And don’t start with the excuse if you have a car then $9 is nothing. It all adds up in this world where these corporations and governments are making everything more and more expensive for everyday people with little-no-change in return.
So what's great is that these people that live in that zone don't get any pollution but everyone else gets more pollution!! Isn't it great that the rich gret to breathe healthier. Thank goodness because these are the people that really matter here in NYC THE RICH AND ELITE!!!
In case you didn't know, the NYS governor gave that "MTA and NYC is safe" speech the same day the woman was lit on fire. To them it is safe to proceed 🤑🤑
New Yorkers wanted this correct? They even did the hahaha dance when they started doing this in Manhattan. You could tax new Yorkers 87% of there income they would just do the hahahaha dance and accept it .
I know a person who lives/works in the City. She would pay extra just to be there. It's pure insanity. The good thing is she doesn't want to reproduce 😂
So i wont rehash everything already said cuz this is stupid. But the news video is also stupid - this isn't a "deadline", it's just the last day to apply to avoid paying full price on day 1. You can still apply for discounts/exemptions going forward as normal, just expect it to take a minute to kick in
Even if the mta gets all this money, the issues are still not going to get resolved. The 7 line alone has had signal problems for over 50 years and it’s still not fixed. This money is going elsewhere.
Discount on what the system needs to stop robbing the taxpayer. The governor she's a SNAKE

MTA needs to be audited, all the years of fare hike and still nothing. More fare hikes means more fare hopping.
Or a boomer/centurian
All that money isn’t gonna go to Mta, only to someone else’s pockets. Mta needs to be audited
that’s exactly where it’s going. what are you talking about??
@ clearly you never taken the trains or read how Mta gets billions of federal dollars

But at least they fight raycism 😂
you can thank the governor for lowering the price and removing high traffic price increases. would probably have been double that amount
I’ll do my part and avoid Manhattan. I can also avoid New York City. Might as well avoid the entire State of New York.
Audit the MTA and publish the results. Then arrest the embezzlers, starting with Hochul and her cronies.

Plus the trains are unsafe. An addition to the woman, a man was just set on fire in Penn station. When does it stop?
@@jimgeo1000That has got to be the most stupidest thing I’ve ever read.

Maybe New York can postpone this until people stop getting lit on fire on the trains.

I just posted a similar comment
CAN YOU GUARANTEE I WILL NOT BE SET ON FIRE IF I USE THE MTA?
No but a package of hot dogs, marshmallows, and a skewer will be available for a small fee.
No guarantees.. Apply fire retardant water based spray on your clothes. You can find it at most hardware stores .

Next they’ll charge people just walking in certain areas!
I thought this was happening already? Mugging they call it I believe 😂
Thanks to this, things are going to cost a lot more. THANKS MTA !
Only everything in retail stores like food medicine toiletries clothing cleaning products .
@@adamblack6867any service providers will go up. Name an service that dont require ANY equipments and/or supplies restock / replacement

Nassau County needs to charge a similar tax for all those NYc residents that use our resources for free!!!!!!
$100 if someone knocks down those cameras.

Good luck to all my fellow uber drivers
They cant enforce it. They let thieves steal😂
NYC politicians should announce boxcars to carry people into their Smart City work camp. No chairs or windows. Think of the savings!
Hochul makes John Gotti look honest.
Scam
Somehow this is the greatest city in the world
"DISCOUNTS"
Who paid like $100 and haven’t received a single trash receptacle?
Should have been originally $16.00 . It's a shame she dropped it to $9.00 if only temporary
