I actually purchased an Umbrella Cockatoo that was previously at a petting zoo instead. The previous owner couldn’t keep him due to him and his wife about to have a baby in the home. He’s BEAUTIFUL! Knows so many words, speaks wonderfully and greets you with excitement when he sees you come through the door. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have him. He’s AMAZING! Don’t tell my husband. But I prefer my U2 over him. 😂 🤣
Some people think they are a nuisance. I have lived around them since the 1960s and still love them. There are a lot around where I live now and they have become so used to me they sit on my hand and eat my breakfast before it gets to my mouth. Be it muesli, oatmeal or toast.
@@richmanaust Those people have bad taste and don't like nature. I live near Parklea. And there are a lot of them living on the trees here, I would like to photograph these colourful birds. I have never experienced wild parrots getting so close to Humans. Love the one that got wet and rolled over in the video.
Where I live now there are about 40-50 that turn up each morning for a few bowls of honey water. A few then proceed to fly straight into me latching onto my shirt or hoodie and searching my pockets for peanuts or biting my ear. If I eat my breakfast/lunch outside they just either sit on the toast eating it, sitting on the bowls edge eating muesli or on my hands attacking my food. It can be a bit of a chore. There are a few that hang around but most go off and cadge another feed from neighbors down the street.
Our do that too. They also love honeywater or the pure honey. I have got a video on my channel, where my Barbossa puts his tongue in a honey pot. If you want to see it, you find it under the keyword "Barbossa is Happy", or just click on my foto and look in the playlist "Loriteam Duisburg", then you will find more videos ;-). A nice day to you....
Richman Aust They're that friendly? Oh my god I'm in the wrong country. I mean I could feed a few gulls... 🤔 Looks awesome. Thanks for sharing the videos.
Thank you Kari. Unfortunately I have recently moved and miss my befriended birds. I am endeavouring to encourage some new friends at my new place. I have some older vids that I will find, edit and post when I get time.
They are beautiful! They need more water containers like long rectangular ones and at least 3 watet containers. There are cheap plastic ones at the clearance store. I care so much about the Lord's wonderful Creation...
@@richmanaust I'm sorry friend. You are so kind giving up your only lunch box and bottle of water to these precious rainbow Lorikeets! Thank you for your being so kind to these beautiful birdlife. Please accept my apologies! May God bless you and your family too!💕💕 Note: Please visit our Video Series of Lorikeets as well. It says, "Wonderful Lorikeets on the Island." Thank you kindly, Marie Chona Davis xx
Oh no I hope these guys are ok right now with all the smog and fires. :-| I love how close you can get though. They really seem to be ok with people. Love it. You should open a Lorikeet Public Baths for them. XD
Don't sorry mate. This happens every decade or so in Australia. The birds are in the heart of the biggest city in Austrsla. No bushfire will get close. I went down to Sydney for a photo shoot on the worst smokey day during the fires. I met up with some of my old mates there in the park. They are safer than me.
yep the good thing about lorikeets and many birds is they do just fine in cities as long as theres plenty of trees around. They have adapted and learned to take advantage of humans.
haha, yes these lorikeets usually like to bathe in all sorts of outdoor places! Thanks for sharing and must have been quite fun being surrounded buy these colourful flurries.
Lol showed this video to my lorikeet and he just sat on my hand watching, not sure if it was the video or phone he was more interested in I think it was a toss up lol

How fortunate are we Aussies? This type of thing occurs unheralded wherever rainbow lorries prolificate,
Awesome!
Love these colorful birds.
