  • Hello, Selleck superfans. There's Chronosport and then there's Chronoports. Which watch brand is better? Gee, I wonder. I mean...stay tuned to find out!

    Hi, sorry this one wasn’t to your liking, we received your return and happy you tried it out. I don’t think it’s fair to say “flip it” when you returned it :)

      I decided to return it only after I shot the video and listened to everything I’d said. At that point I realized it wouldn’t be right to pass the watch off to someone else, especially considering the faulty lug hole issue. So yeah, to anyone who just watched the video and is reading these comments, I decided to return the watch instead of sell it to someone else.

    Very 80's vintage style, but I just went cold when I heard the word quartz. Yeah I know.....Total mechanical watch snob! Really reminds me of the CWC Navy divers watch (Also quartz). 100% in agreement with your view of the Day/Date complication. I'm 48 and frequently need to know the day and date for my job (Multiple times per day as I keep forgetting), and a day date is SO useful!

      I also considered myself a mechanical watch snob until very recently while handling some Cartier quartz watches, and now this. There’s just something about their reliability that appeals me all the sudden. And even though I say I’m over the Monnin case style, I am VERY interested in getting my hands on a CWC Royal Navy quartz diver. Do you have any other suggestions for a good day/date watch that isn’t Rolex or Seiko?

      @@watch_a_watch certainly can't deny that quartz DO have the advantage when it comes to accuracy. Did my weekly watch check, and my 2 quartz watches were both spot on to the second, where as my mechanicals were anywhere between +6 seconds (Really impressed by that, in the space of a week!). and an absolutely horrific almost 10 mins from one of my old Vostocks. Sorry, I can't recommend / suggest any other Day / Date watches, I only own one myself , and that's a Seiko.

      @@watch_a_watch I think if you’re starting to like quartz, and looking for something maybe a bit more upmarket the CWC’s are really nice. Sometimes you can get one used that’s in good condition for a good price

    Im on a serious miami vice kick right now, don't think it's a coincidence that I suddenly want an ebel 1911. PI is next, so thanks for giving me an idea on a purchase down the line 😂

    Great looking homage watch imho...

      Yes, overall it’s very faithful and has some real advantages over the Momentum version that I didn’t mention. One being the thicker hour hand, and the fact that the hour and minute hands have no counterweight. Not sure why the Momentum version and the original had that, but it just strikes me as sloppy and cluttered-looking.

    Buy the Magnum P.I. complete series - It hits it's stride midway into the first season then becomes your favorite show of all-time. I watched when it was on, 1980, right through 'til the end... Actually just watched to episode you showed of him shooting the nun the other day (was a "secret agent" assassin known for dressing in women's clothes)

    86 grams is def not a heavy watch....

    • @watch_a_watch
      @watch_a_watch  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m sure there are plenty of watch heads that are heavier, but considering it’s got a featherweight quartz movement inside and is on a featherweight fabric strap, I was still very impressed by the weight. Usually when I think quartz, I think of something ultralight like a Casio F-91W or a Swatch or Timex Expedition.

    not sure about the BMW hate, all the assholes i meet on the road drive SUVs, hatchbacks or utes, brand is irrelevant
    SUVs are poor drivers and not courteous to other road users, hence them buying an SUV in the first place (you don't need an SUV, you either need a sedan, ute, or station wagon)
    utes are aggressive drivers who love to tailgate, or they are driving 10 under the limit in their old ute, which is understandable, but annoying
    hatchbacks are usually old people or women, or old women, who drive slowly in single lanes, then when it gets to dual lanes, they speed up so you can't over take them.

    You need to look at the momentum sea quartz 30. It’s the proper magnum watch not this thing.
