That is a total shame!! The last house I lived in, the landlord said he had never seen a place left so clean. That gave me a sense of pride. I don't know why people do this to others property. Now, I live in the worst part of Canton, in public housing due to heart failure. What I wouldn't give to have a real house again.😞 Smdh
There is nothing worse than having nasty-ass renters living next door to you when you own your home and you try you very best to keep your property spit-shine clean and tidy.
Agree with you 100%. That’s why I don’t feel sorry for landlords because they don’t have to live by their tenants, and they sure as hell do not care about the neighborhoods. I’m sure those homeowner neighbors couldn’t wait for those tenants to leave.
I cannot believe how people leave rental property. We rented from a guy for 8 years and when we left we replaced all of the carpets, had the wood floors waxed and the house professionally cleaned. I manicured the yard and we replaced all of the filters for the HVAC system. The landlord was shocked but very appreciative. That's the way it was when we leased the property and I left it better.
@@systemsproceed248 we've owned our own home for 5 years now. Sometimes I wish we still were renters to be honest. We have put a lot of money into this house and still have a lot to do but all of the work makes it worth more. At least it will be ours before too long.
@@systemsproceed248 well thank you for the kind words. We are just simple people but we value people's kindness and their property. We wouldn't want someone to leave our property in a mess. It also has to with respect for others and a great deal of self respect. Thank you again.
Many years ago, a friend of mine had a couple of rental houses. One used to belong to his great aunt. He had some renters move out after 3 yrs. of renting and it actually looked worse than this did...especially the bathroom. The toilet was clogged and full and the evidently had started using the tub for a toilet. He had been given a forwarding address and he located the old renters. He then found out the name of the new person they were renting from and showed them pictures of how they left his house. I heard it got kinda ugly after that and the renters were finally forced to leave after only being at the new house for only 3 months.
I went through the same thing. I dont mind some cleaning but when you end up needing new kitchen floor tile and new carpeting in the living room....that can piss a person off!
Carpet in bathroom just makes me grim out thinking about that why should I have nice hug tub with a crappy floor definitely a room in the house that doesn’t need carpet
I lived in MacEwan Residence when I was in university. I was a responsible tenant. I took care of my suite. I paid most of my rent. My mom paid my rent for the first 2 months. I paid the security deposit.
Get your foot or the property managers foot in the door of a rental property every six months. Have tied into the lease you're coming twice a year to check the smoke and CO2 alarms....even if they are the 10 year battery variety.
Not all section 8 tenants are like this. But this was a shame. That fact that people expect the property to be in great condition and not care how they leave it it’s sad
Over here there is a tica database . If you left a property like that you'd lose your bond (4 weeks rent) and end up on tica. Whenever I left a rental property it was cleaner than when I moved in. Sadly, this is becoming the normal, More and more tenants are doing this in Canada because the Landlord & tenant board is more of an tenant board, they favor the tenants 100% and punish the landlord and force landlords to lost thousands of dollars every month. My place right now looks like a hoarder's place, you cant walk into into some of the rooms and could not walk up the stairs
I must have found the worse tenants also trash everywhere holes in the walls, shower heads off, fire in the bathroom with floor burn black, ceiling fan down hanging. I finally got them out with a attorney and the sheriff's office eviction notices sent and left owing us 1500.00 in electric bills and 4 months rent. And we treated them as good as their family would don't understand but it will not happen again I promise.
A lot of garbage left behind. Lucky the walls weren't destroyed. After 5 years the carpet would have to be replaced anyway. Walls would have to be repainted also. No reason for the deck not to have been repainted by landlord or his workers. Yes it will cost to remove garbage. Money can be recouped by having a yard sale of all usable items. Bill tenants for the removal. Not as bad as what left by some of my ex-tenants. In country all rentals should be exterminated every year to couple of years.
You can tell at one time that was a nice house people need to appreciate what people let them rent. I now own my own home. 25yrs this year. When I got married we rented while we saved for the rest of the deposit for our house. We had a 3 bedroom nice 2 floor home with I guess 3rd floor as a storage basement. My wife and I worked hard to keep the place clean. And every inspection our landlord (who worked hard to help tennents if they needed help. He was a very good ,kind hard working man ). We would pass our inspection very quickly and easily. And he would say something like "Glad to have you two as tennents. You actually keep the house and the little garden really looking nice. No rubbish , no weeds , no mice- bugs- fleas etc." When we moved out we got out security bond back. The landlord said we had made it look better than when he rented it to us (well we did we had repainted inside with landlords permission and fixed some questionable flooring and some lose tiles). He was sad to see us go. We were just greatful we had the house with no issues for as long as we did. Same day we moved out 2 of the same landlords tennents on the same row of homes were being evicted. Mostly for not paying rent. And using every excuse in the book not to pay. And the landlord's Wife almost cried when she opened one places door. They'd filled almost every room with rubbish as high as they could reach. Broken mirrors and windows. Smashed the stove ripped the doors off the fridge/freezer 2 in 1 off. Punched or kicked holes in the walls in every room. These tennents had 4 kids all of whom looked and smelt like they had never bathed in the lives. Neither of the adults in the house worked. And they had "friends" illegally living in the lounge fold out couch also not paying any rent to stay. They had pet piss and shit everywhere. Landlord didn't have issues with pets. He had issues with non house trained pets. And the people clearly to lazy to take them out to go to the toilet. They only had lived in the house just on a year. Payed only 5mths of rent till they quit paying. The courts made the landlord wait 7 more months to get them out. Meaning that the lazy bastards got 7 mths free rent. When they finally got them out . They broke back in to squat 4 times because they had nowhere else to go supposedly. This with 4 kids (by no suprise 4 different dad's). Not one of them dad's paying child support (again no suprise). Police came kicked them out. Lock smith changed the locks over and over. Finally it stopped when the so called parents were both put in jail and Family Services took their children. As a parent of two boys (12 and 15). I can't imagine any parent thinking that behaviour is fine to do around and teach your kids to behave like.... I'm glad Family services took those kids away. The kids were aged from 4mths to 5 yrs in age. And the 5yr old wasn't in school.
Don’t try to blame the victim. The tenants lie and give a sob story, you try to be nice and give them a chance and this is what you get. There should be a registry for landlords with names and pics of former tenants so new landlords aren’t future victims. If people like that were held accountable, no one would rent to them, rightfully so. Same with slumlords, have a registry so people are aware before they rent! It works both ways but up to now the landlords always take the loss and these vermin walk away with no responsibility and landlords have no repercussions they can take.
A lot of people feel like if they do not own something then there isn't much reason to look after it. Especially because some landlords get people in and want to keep raising the rent sky high. I am not saying tenants should trash the places but then they cannot be expected to take much care either.
surely as a landlord you had the right to write to your tenants requesting a house inspection...this is absolutely horrid..indeed...wot a shame dont they have 30 days to collect stuff they left??Did they pay a bond??if so are you can claim it for damages!
I just can't understand how anyone can live in this. Not to mention destroying someone else's property! Wow the basement looked like the cleanest place. It looks like they left in a big hurry.
You should put it in your leases that you have a 6-month inspection every 6 months. There's Moss all over the deck and all over the house., You should have stepped in earlier.. I seriously doubt if these people had a high credit score should be part of your qualification 750 and up. They're cutting the hair and probably putting it down the drain and some fell off on the floor. To mess up the pipes. I'm not surprised at this. Renting to people with a higher credit score and having an inspection walkthrough of the property will probably help. That way it doesn't get too destroyed before you find out and you can take measures to evict or give them a notice to move. Some people prefer to do room rental single occupancy only with the shared kitchen. That way if one room renter moves out you still have rent come from the other renters there are no children or petss so it's cleaner. You also have in the agreement that you can come in anytime to the common areas so you always see if they're keeping it up or not and a lot of retired people single people stay for years. There must have been a security deposit or you should get probably two months if you can. I saw an ashtray there so they were smokers which you might want to consider smoke-free properties.. nicotine accumulates on everything the walls the smell in the furnace ducts it's terrible to clean
And how the hell do you destroy bathrooms and a house like this and this is why landlords don't spend money on putting high end and high grade flooring and materials and all in a rental cuse of this guys. And it sjcks for someone like me who takes care of his place and I needed a rental house couldn't find one that wasn't remodeled with the clearance section at Lowes cheapest stuff they could find to remodel and lots had paint so thick on the walls that it didn't even look like sheet rock it looked like thick goopy dried paint so I just bought me a house screw the rental thing due to what I described. The only house I rented when I left and moved out I'm 29 and had two roommates who we split the bill for the maid in a upper scale neighborhood and the tenant said I have never seen a house left so clean not even a spec of dust or smudge on a window cuse after we moved we had the maid run through the empty house and he was in shock when we did the walk through before I handed him the keys back over he gave me 4k back and said keep it man I don't have to remodel or fix or do anything to it cuse it's sports like just way I left it it was a very nice house beautiful grant counter tops custom crown molding beautiful house really it was no corners was cut to make it look the way it did. But note to all landlords if you have a nice rental house include the cost of the maid into the rent extra 150 a month and it will save you way more money in long run or even you pay for it and tell the tenants if it takes her more then one day to clean the house your paying for the rest of the time the maid is there until they have cleaned the whole house spotless. Ours came every Wed and cost us 250 a month rhays it for every day and she made sure it was spotless
If I were a landlord, I would screen tenants thoroughly so that I increase the likely hood of getting good tenants. No good landlords deserve bad tenants. Bad landlords deserve bad tenants.
That is such a shame! It is definitly a beautiful property and the house itself had so many nice features. I think people often demonize landlords but they don't realize how much time and energy they have invested into the property. This will be big expense, not to mention the wear and tear on the house from the neglect it suffered. Its a shame as it really looks like a nice property overall if it had been maintained. And it properly would not need a ton of work to be renewed.
Did you recover any damages in the eviction? Or even take them to small claims court for debris removal? Im considering it myself. Have a similar situation. My place is currently trashed!
Umm dude this is messed up o. Every level but paint on decks and carpet and floors get wore out after 5 plus years no matter how clean you are a house needs to be remodeld every 10 years if you take care of it if you don't every 5 years but this is the tenants fault
Oh I just love videos like this! I'll admit, maybe it's a touch of OCD, but there is no way on God's green earth I'd ever treat where I cook, and lay my head at night, like that! Ownership, rental, oh h-ll no. That's not only gross, but goes to show how some folks just don't care. I have 2 cats, and 2 dogs inside, but one wouldn't know it! I look forward to watching more. 👍

How do people leave so much stuff when they can't pay the rent?
Nothing that a big deposit won’t handle
If I were a landlord, I would screen tenants thoroughly so that I increase the likely hood of getting good tenants. No good landlords deserve bad tenants. Bad landlords deserve bad tenants.
This is why small claims court exists. This video alone would entitle you to thousands in damages.
That's just sad 😥
Needs to be recarpted re painted .
Plot twist this guy is the real renter LOL
That is such a shame! It is definitly a beautiful property and the house itself had so many nice features. I think people often demonize landlords but they don't realize how much time and energy they have invested into the property. This will be big expense, not to mention the wear and tear on the house from the neglect it suffered. Its a shame as it really looks like a nice property overall if it had been maintained. And it properly would not need a ton of work to be renewed.
Just Wow! They totally trashed the property! Just shameful!! He’s gone need Hazmat to come clean it up! These folks were just nasty!
Did you recover any damages in the eviction? Or even take them to small claims court for debris removal? Im considering it myself. Have a similar situation. My place is currently trashed!
Wow!!!! What a shame. You can tell it's a beautiful place
How do people live like that! The homeless people are cleaner than them
SMH it's like where do you begin to clean up smh
Umm dude this is messed up o. Every level but paint on decks and carpet and floors get wore out after 5 plus years no matter how clean you are a house needs to be remodeld every 10 years if you take care of it if you don't every 5 years but this is the tenants fault
"This carpet used to be brand new." Yeah, 5 years ago. lol! Such a shame what they did to your place. How can anyone live like that? Disgusting.
As a long time landlord, my advice would be to sell whatever you can, and burn the rest. That's right, burn it.
I can smell your house from the comfort of my own home from my computer screen.
I'd take all that food and eat it. It's no wonder they couldn't pay rent.
+1 for free Christmas trees lol
Be easier to run a rv Park
It seems like every room just gets worse and worse as you move through the house. Unbelievable people can live this way. Sad
Roaches bed bugs. Possible
The landlord should have never let it get to this point. He screwed up
