Yes please to a competition entry. I’m really enjoying the building and weathering videos, perhaps you could do some wagon ‘conversion’ videos in the future?
@@MessingaboutwithModels I was thinking something with short wheel base four wheelers - perhaps match truck for crane, tank wagon for RHTT... Not necessarily prototypical, just a little different.
A nice weathering job on that wagon. I've got quite a few from the same time period that could really use the same weathering technique. I'd like to enter the competition and well done on reaching 1k subs
Hi Michael, I would recommend a black wash - this is basically a thinned black acrylic paint. Any of several brands are fine, Humbrol's is widely available. In addition I would suggest a something like Humbrol 173 track colour, which you can dry brush onto the chassis, either as-is, or by mixing with some black or a light brown to adjust the shade.
Good morning, John. You know I am a regular fan so please include me in the prize draw. As ever, the combination of voice over and guitar music made for pleasant watching. What colour would the straps have been, please, if they had not suffered rust damage?
Hi John, and thanks for the support. Hornby have modelled them as having the same colour as the container, but I'm not sure how practical that would have been in real life. It's possible that they were just black, or left as bare metal.

Thanks for the chance of winning and also providing us with good content to watch! Roll on the next 1000 subscribers!
Good luck!
Very educational thanks. One day I'll have a go. Being an LMS modeller I'd love to add this to my collection. Congrats and all the best
Thanks and Good luck!

Thanks Martin! What sort of things do you have in mind when you talk about a wagon conversion?

@@mbhambleton Ok, I'll have a think and see what I can come up with.
Peter from Australia. I model LMS and would really like this wagon. I susubscribed to your channel a couple of months ago, keep up the good work.
Thanks Peter!
Congrats on the 1K......well deserved too
Thanks so much!
Not my era for the wagon, but it was a good video. Congratulations on the 1000 subscribers.
Thanks 👍
I am a new subscriber and love the weathered wagon, so I think I will enter your competition, it looks great.
Thanks for sub Stewart!
Congrats on reaching 1k John 👏👏
Thanks!
Really nice job! Thinking about starting to paint/weather my own stock so these videos are great. Keep up the good work.
Once you get over the natural hesitation about taking a paint brush to an expensive model, it's great.
Great video I’d love this wagon as I’ve just started to collect LMS.
Thanks 👍
Thanks Darron. Good luck in the draw!

@@MessingaboutwithModels thank you!
Nice weathering! turned out great!
Thanks, I wanted something fairly subtle that would give the impression of a wagon in use.
Very helpful and inspirational videos, many thanks
My pleasure! So glad you like them!
Hi, these are great lil wagons, I already have one very similar, very versatile.

Going to have a go with some of my rtr wagons. Any materials in particular you would recommend. Reluctant to buy too much to start.

@@MessingaboutwithModels thanks. So many options but just want to keep it simple (and cheap) to start
Interesting how different the models can be... Maybe if I win Ill send you one from the States in return...
Thanks BanHammer for the feedback, much appreciated!
@@MessingaboutwithModels Thanks for the effort mate

Who won the wagon?
It was someone called Kevin 2006 - but he hasn't sent me his address yet! If you're reading this Kevin, email me the address!
