  • Entering the Den next are Dr. Ganesh Rao and his business partner Tim Harwood to pitch their non-surgical cosmetic services 'Treatment Saver', an online health comparison site but their composed pitch falls short as they're questioned over website traffic.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

Duncan needs his own show where pitchers get 1 min to give their speil before either getting a large wad of cash dropped on them or jettisoned straight into a vat of rancid haggis. It will be called Dunkerty Dunk and I want at least 15% of all proceeds.

He's wrong to say that it's irrelevant, but his point is that it's not the primary factor. For elective surgery, like laser eye treatment, there's always the option of just not having the surgery. People only going to get the surgery done somewhere that they trust. You're not going to go somewhere you don't trust just because it's cheaper, and if you don't trust any provider that you can afford, you just don't get the surgery done.

I don't get it, it's not like the websites he launches have his face and name all over the front page and in the URL and whatnot. It's not like google spits it out saying 'Peter Jones's website right there, he's a celebrity dragon dude y'all know so you'll click right?'. Who even knows who's behind some website or even if he's an investor in the company of said website until you really do your research? At which point you are already doing exactly what they want you to do - take interest. That's the point and that's why his argument is quite solid.
Websites aren't perfumes, you can't slap a celebrity's name somewhere on it and call it a day, expecting it to market itself from then on. Unless it's their actual official website or they're the face of the whole thing or whatever, but certainly not for some random product that the person is just invested in.

Getting a quote you fill in details to create a sales lead including your phone number, and a specific provider owns certain postcodes... so there is no comparison or price. I used their default postcode and got Optical Express. No reviews, prices, alternative options... I don't know why people wouldn't go direct, however, the branding itself isn't too bad.

I think the Dragons tore them apart for no reason. Often times people will come on here asking for what seems like a small amount of money (like 75k) saying they need marketing help and well get investment just fine so idk why the amount asked was wrong to ask for help with marketing.
