    About my videos: These videos are a resource for anyone wishing to wake up from the dream of separation. Awakening, enlightenment, and liberation are becoming far more mainstream possibilities than they once were. There are many good teachers out there, and if you resonate with the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Rupert Spira, or Sadhguru, you might find resources here that address these deeper promptings to investigate your true nature.

The inquiries presented herein are potent and can have powerful effects on the way you experience yourself and reality. If you feel you are at risk of harming yourself or others, these videos and practices may not be the best thing for you at the moment. Seek help wherever necessary which might include a hospital emergency department, a suicide helpline etc.

    I’ve noticed that there is a want to check boxes and compare this experience with what “others” have reported. Trying to gauge where I am. Building my spiritual resume. 😂 In this comparison I have noticed so much that’s no longer here. I’m shoulding less on myself. It feels at times like I was just born and the past is losing it’s realness. The dread of future scenarios is gone. I’m not even sure when the happened but there’s still a pull to put together a narrative to explain this to someone or help somebody else that is struggling like I used to. At the same time I realize that I wouldn’t have looked without that friction. Thank you for your book, videos and app!

    Equanimity is not possible without taking this step. All my spiritual practice was just a form of coping mechanism. Notion that you have to earn freedom is so deeply rooted that it feels like you are cheating if you entertain the idea of being free without doing anything. Every living breath was used to resist experience. The moment this was realized it the enormous weight that was placed on the body and mind became evident. There was never a need for all this. What a terrible but innocent mistake.

      Yes my friend I know what you mean. Many years ago there was a shift and the peace was so profound, one statement from the Bible kept going through my head, “have you suffered so many things in vain?”
      It was obvious that suffering/resisting life is simply unnecessary 😌

    That’s really great thank you! I keep trying to figure it out and solve things, but whenever I stop and look, there is no one figuring it out, nothing to resolve, control, manage, it’s all just happening on its own, with the mind constantly making up stories and solidifying experiences, but it’s only an afterthought. But then I forgot and get dragged into the mind chatter again minutes later 😢

  • @hear-and-know

    Another timely guidance 🙏 Would you say that letting go is always helpful towards awakening? Lately I've been feeling what may be termed "zen sickness" if I understand it correctly - some lethargy by subtly attaching to emptiness.
    If I'm feeling discomfort, I don't seek to solve it physically, but instead try to see through it, breaking it down. And I think it has led me to not act on certain things. Like "locking" myself into a room and trying to make peace with the urge to go out, instead of just going out. Where can I go from here? It's like the mind doesn't care (having managed to be equanimous towards a sensation), but the body DOES care. Like being physically thirsty and the body starts panicking, but the mind is observing thirst directly, and obviously this doesn't make the thirst subside. Unlike the realm of thoughts etc.
    If I'm honest, this seems like a subtle belief based on the mind-body split, and of the mind trying to overcome and conquer situations, instead of flowing with them, but I'd like to know your opinion on this. Thank you!

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think you’re in a good place, there can certainly be sone withdrawal from activity and the fact that you are instinctually inclined to work directly with the experience is mature approach. There are phases where it’s imperative to go dormant in a sense and phases where one senses it’s important to engage with life directly and without reservation. You will get more a sense of when to do each as realization matures.

    • @hear-and-know
      @hear-and-know ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks! Funny how even in such small things the mind creates an "ideal" scenario, like wanting to be active when it feels right to be dormant, vice versa :-)

    So Dr. D, my resting heart rate is now in the mid 40s thanks to all this. Hopefully that’s ok - it used to be 60. Do you know how common it is for one’s resting heart rate to drop like that during this process?

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  ปีที่แล้ว

      Never heard of that association. Are you an endurance athlete?

    • @GumbyTheGreen1
      @GumbyTheGreen1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SimplyAlwaysAwake Definitely not. I only jog on an elliptical three times a week for 30-45 minutes each time. But I’m thin and my diet is vegan and low in saturated fat with no cholesterol in case that matters. It’s actually been a couple years since I measured my resting heart rate, so I guess I don’t really know that this process is what slowed it down.

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GumbyTheGreen1 interesting. Some extreme athletes even get down into the 30s which can actually be dangerous. If you are ever concerned never a bad idea to run it by your doc

    • @GumbyTheGreen1
      @GumbyTheGreen1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SimplyAlwaysAwake So I had measured that right after meditating while laying down. When I measured it at a normal time while sitting upright, it was 55. I found a study in which one month of yoga training lowered people’s resting heart rate by 10 bpm and enabled them to lower it by another 23 bpm on average during a 6 minute meditation (with the help of visual feedback), so maybe I’m in the normal range but I probably will get checked out to be safe. Thanks for the replies! :)
      You mentioned that you haven’t heard of such an association but would it surprise you if there is one? I’m no doctor but just intuitively, I would think that learning to let go of attachments, resistance, identity, and overthinking would reduce anxiety and energy expenditure and thus resting heart rate as well.

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GumbyTheGreen1 not surprised there is an association with lowering heart rate increasing Batak tone (I know there is). But pronounced bradycardia isn’t usually associated with lowering vagal tone but rather extreme athleticism or heart block etc. You may just have naturally low heart rate and high vagal tone.

    In reference to 4:44, does a liberated person never have a sense of there being a problem or a sense of needing a solution to address a situation? When a liberated person experiences pain or discomfort why would they move to address it if there in no problem seen?

    • @SimplyAlwaysAwake
      @SimplyAlwaysAwake  ปีที่แล้ว

      a problem is only a relative concern or way of communicating. There isn't a "feel" that something is problematic and especially no root in a self which makes all the difference
