Thanks! I hadn’t seen one light up like that before. I was on the water about 10am and came in closer to 3pm. The sheepshead bite was at about 1:30pm. I’m trying to get offshore too but this weather has been the worst.
The pants are the NRS Freefall dry pants that go up to the chest and are waterproof all the way down including the feet. The boots are not waterproof. They are an old pair of boots I wore over waders when I was in Alaska fishing rivers. The jacket is a black diamond ski jacket that keeps rain out, protects from the wind really well and is breathable. Originally I bought the jacket for skiing but now it’s great for the winter. Underneath I just layer up to be comfortable depending on temps. Might not be the ideal setup but I feel confident that if I fell in the water I would not freeze right away and can still self recover safely in a timely manner.
@@oafishing thanx for the info! We've just always chosen not to go out if it's below 40, which sucks of course, so I need to get the proper gear to not miss out on fish in the colder temps.
@@xRamZx I feel you on that. I got those dry pants last year for offshore to chase tuna and just now got to use them. The fish are still there, super slow bite sometimes but they still gotta eat.
The more you learn - the luckier you get! 👌
Just realized I never replied. Every trip I feel like I learn something. People don’t want to hear that time on the water is key.
Niiiiice! Got on the elusive sheeps! 🔥😂
Just realized I never replied. I should’ve went sheep fishing yesterday but chose offshore in Destin and only found 3-4” cigar minnows, nothing else.
@@oafishing 🤣 no worries man. The sheep are definitely getting fired up. It’s about time. Lol
Great job Omar! Man, youve got that tactic “dialed in”. 👌
Thanks Joe! I finally got a few things figured out. Time on the water and patience have been key.
Some solid sheeps buddy. Nice job!
Thank you!
Awesome!! Love them Sheepshead!
Thanks man! I'm getting better at catching them and it's so much fun!
Nice! The sheeps look super healthy and colored up. What time of day were you out? -Hoping offshore settles down with enough time to get on the BFT.

Where are you getting you crabs?
I picked these up at Bay Baits when they still had some. I think most places are currently out of fiddlers.
What's your cold weather gear, are the boots waterproof?
