And there's so much more. If he hadn't debuted, 70-80% of these groups/soloists wouldn't have existed (if you know, you know). Literally every other top idol have cited Taemin as his/her role model. It's crazy when you think about how the whole industry is whipped for him and admires and respects him so much. I hope Taemin continues to break more boundaries and set new standards in Kpop. I'm 100% sure he's gonna outdo himself again with his next cb after military. Just wait and watch :)

Aah the days of Teen Top and Uniq (random fact: Wang Yibo, a Chinese member is now a famous actor). It hurt when they didn’t recognize some of these groups. If you want to try korean rock, my recommendations are Seo Taiji and Madmans Esprit. Also a good band to check out that play their own instrument but play soft music is Lucy (their leader Ye Chan is a classically trained violinist).
I have 0 respect for a debut list without TOP, Baekhyun, SuperM or Jackson Wang. Their debuts were legendary. But on the bright side, G Dragon, Shinee, Day6, GOT7, Taemin, NCT U and ATEEZ'S debuts are iconic and I still love them all today. 🌈

I really hope you do some kind of 2.5 gen bg special because groups like B1A4 and Teen Top had so many hits but the timing of their debuts not long before the start of 3rd gen makes a lot of people overlook them when talking about the history of kpop. And I'm surprised you don't seem to have heard of VIXX when you seem familiar with all the other major 2012 debut bgs (EXO, BAP, BTOB, Nu'est). VIXX are often considered the concept kings of kpop, my favourite song of theirs is On & On but they released so many bangers.
You know the singer of FT island Lee Hong K8, he did Still love you with Hwesung from Nflying.. even Kyunhyun loves his vocals. He is iconic to say the least.

The one in 9:11 is our Kim Jaejoong! He was originally from TVXQ, then to JYJ when split. And then mostly active Japan. His solo songs are rock cause he love it 🤗 I love how tvxq were when 5, but the good thing is after split they all shine individually (like Jaejoong in rock songs, Junsu in musical, Yunho and Changmin a bit jazzy style, and Yoochun in acting). I really hope you could check out Se7en's (Choi Dong Wook) career. He was YG Ent's Ace, the Prince of Kpop back when Bi Rain is the reigning (pun intended) King, and B.o.A. is the Queen. If these kpop group are the ones the pave the way, Se7en is definitely one of the first ones who knocked at the door of international Kpop scene.
funny thing about X1 26:32 , H&D 29:37 and BAE173 29:17 and is that all of them have Hangyul and Dohyon as members. They first debuted as members of X1, then when the group disbanded they debuted as a duo under Pocketdoll Ent. and after some months they joined a predebut group under their company to debut again as BAE173 who btw recently had a comeback..
These boys underwent so much, and I'm just glad they found their home in bae173!! I also hope bae173 hits it big, or at least get the recognition they deserve, because they're just genuinely talented.

Huta is actually Btob's (and BTOB4U) Lee Minhyuk. Huta is his rap name, he started as an underground rapper before becoming an idol/trainee. He composed, wrote, and produced all songs in his debut album (and even some of BTOB's) including Ya. He's basically a rapper, composer, singer, and dancer all mixed in this one amazing man.
FTisland, CNBlue and N Flying all are from FNC Entertainment. Although lineups in both all of those has changed a bit all are still around and all "real bands". There are actually many groups in South Korea that are bands, just not in The KPOP Genre, many who have had long careers.
Fun facts about Pirate King: -It actually was the second choice for their debut. The song that they almost chose was Hala Hala. -The original choreography was done by Wooyoung(purple hair in Pirate King) and was done as a part of a show that they had before debut(ATEEZ Wanted)

Watching this makes me realise how many kpop groups/ idols gets released every year but don't really make it so far. They had promising debuts but dont last very long. You don't hear them around anymore. Also so many groups I actually don't know as well..as well as so surprised at how long some of these groups/idols have lasted as well. Some still around till today. Like Super Junior, Eric Nam, Btob, Exo, Beast/ Highlight, etc. This video was interesting. Hope there is a kpop girl group/ idol ver as well next. Btw, glad you had a chance to experience your 1st kpop concert with Ateez. I have been fortunate enough to get to go to a few showcases for Beast and 2AM way back when they were fairly new in the industry and concert for Exo, KARD, iKon, Day6 and BTS. I hope those who haven't will get a chance to experience a kpop concert someday. I wish it will be a memorable and enjoyable experience for you as it was for me 😊💖

I don't know the basis of the rankings(if it is ranked) but since the video included a lot of soloists I don't know why they ignored SUHO and EXO-SC. Infact every exo solo and subunit debuts have been successful. Some others that I like TOP, BOBBY, MOBB, B.I,every GOT7 soloists, WAYV, suju D&E,WOODZ. Actually now that I think about it there are many good debuts missing. Also I don't know if we can call the neos(NCT boys) soloists yet but TEN, MARK and TAEYONG had very good solos.

The one in 9:11 is our Kim Jaejoong! He was originally from TVXQ, then to JYJ when split. And then mostly active Japan. His solo songs are rock cause he love it 🤗
I love how tvxq were when 5, but the good thing is after split they all shine individually (like Jaejoong in rock songs, Junsu in musical, Yunho and Changmin a bit jazzy style, and Yoochun in acting). Check them out when you have the time!

I really hope you could check out Se7en's (Choi Dong Wook) career. He was YG Ent's Ace, the Prince of Kpop back when Bi Rain is the reigning (pun intended) King, and B.o.A. is the Queen.
If these kpop group are the ones the pave the way, Se7en is definitely one of the first ones who knocked at the door of international Kpop scene.

funny thing about X1 26:32 , H&D 29:37 and BAE173 29:17 and is that all of them have Hangyul and Dohyon as members. They first debuted as members of X1, then when the group disbanded they debuted as a duo under Pocketdoll Ent. and after some months they joined a predebut group under their company to debut again as BAE173 who btw recently had a comeback..
These boys underwent so much, and I'm just glad they found their home in bae173!!
I also hope bae173 hits it big, or at least get the recognition they deserve, because they're just genuinely talented.

Huta is actually Btob's (and BTOB4U) Lee Minhyuk. Huta is his rap name, he started as an underground rapper before becoming an idol/trainee. He composed, wrote, and produced all songs in his debut album (and even some of BTOB's) including Ya. He's basically a rapper, composer, singer, and dancer all mixed in this one amazing man.
FTisland, CNBlue and N Flying all are from FNC Entertainment. Although lineups in both all of those has changed a bit all are still around and all "real bands". There are actually many groups in South Korea that are bands, just not in The KPOP

Watching this makes me realise how many kpop groups/ idols gets released every year but don't really make it so far. They had promising debuts but dont last very long. You don't hear them around anymore. Also so many groups I actually don't know as well..as well as so surprised at how long some of these groups/idols have lasted as well. Some still around till today. Like Super Junior, Eric Nam, Btob, Exo, Beast/ Highlight, etc. This video was interesting. Hope there is a kpop girl group/ idol ver as well next.
Btw, glad you had a chance to experience your 1st kpop concert with Ateez. I have been fortunate enough to get to go to a few showcases for Beast and 2AM way back when they were fairly new in the industry and concert for Exo, KARD, iKon, Day6 and BTS. I hope those who haven't will get a chance to experience a kpop concert someday. I wish it will be a memorable and enjoyable experience for you as it was for me 😊💖

I don't know the basis of the rankings(if it is ranked) but since the video included a lot of soloists I don't know why they ignored SUHO and EXO-SC. Infact every exo solo and subunit debuts have been successful. Some others that I like TOP, BOBBY, MOBB, B.I,every GOT7 soloists, WAYV, suju D&E,WOODZ. Actually now that I think about it there are many good debuts missing. Also I don't know if we can call the neos(NCT boys) soloists yet but TEN, MARK and TAEYONG had very good solos.

Since in Korea, bands who play instrument is not as much as the gg/bg who dance, they rarely play live instrument in music show (yes, that is so sad TT) so if u wanna check their LIVE performances, pls do check their concerts' performances, or check Yu Huiyeol's Sketchbook they perform live there.
Tbh, my fav performances are from their japanese concert 😬. Since a band is more familiar in japan, idk but the vibe is kinda different when they perform there. And, yearly, FNC Ent hv their family concert in japan. CNBLUE, they also usually have zipp tour every year (tour in some japan's cities)
