Hi there, also have the 7800x3d no issues so far, but the boot time I believe is related to the mem speed, I set my 6400mhz to 5200mhz and boot time went down from 30s to sub 10s, also lowered latencies to 26-32-32-83 works like a charm

Have you tried turning on Memory Context Restore + Power Down Enable? Settings might have a slightly different name in your BIOS, but basically this way it doesn't have to train the DDR5 every single time but rather uses the last known settings that worked fine, which has significally helped people cut down load times

Ignoring I got a refund from Intel for the shoddy 13700K, and than again for a shoody 13900K, only to land, successfully this time, on a 14900K - I agree.
Other than two easy-RMA's/refunds, it works (also, my dirty-psu and some bad settings in bios for testing likely pushed weak chips over the edge).

      13700k here as well.
Played around with the eCores but eventually turned them off
5.4Ghz and uses 50-100W depending on the game. Could undervolt it further to 5.2Ghz if I really wanted to.

I've found a HUGE culprit on AM5 boards for instability is the VDDP voltage, I've been investigating this problem for months now just out of curiosity. VDDP is the DDR5 modules on-board I/O, and AMD spec is 800mv with an absolute max of 1.100V. Too many people leave this on auto and it causes a lot of problems.
My Asus board would not run any memory overclock stable until I discovered it was running this voltage in sync with VDD, so if I was running 6400mt/s RAM at 1.400V, VDDP would be at 1.400V too. Drop it back down to 900mv and I was able to have perfect stability and boot times of less than 10 seconds.

@@Davinmk The problem I've seen with the AMD stuff this gen compared to intel, is it usually doesn't crash it just starts to act funky and if you're only using it for a few benchmarks you might not even notice. Like back in the day when we had FSB overclocking and if you pushed too far, Windows would start wigging out. The real common things I've noticed are audio dropouts and issues loading web pages, but otherwise seems to be stable.

dude I love you're videos and agree with most of your points (personally own mostly intel and nvidia systems, 10+ of them including 4090 i9 13900ks, lol actually have no AMD GPU's atm) but would you really prefer it if it was just intel and nvidia as the only choice? I realize you never said that, but the message seems to be that. At least AMD are putting some sort of competition on the table. Otherwise we would likely be screwed with pricing. And would likely be getting shittier products as there would be no motivation to innovate.

Assuming you're on a decent AIO and not some custom loop monster, lock all the p cores to 5.7, e cores to 4.2 and whack on a negative 0.075 voltage offset. If cores hit 98c doing a cinebench r23 run then drop your power limit by 10w until they max out at 97c or lower. As long as you get through C23 runs without an error you should be good for a 24/7 undervolt at around 1.325v. Keep your c states on to keep the idle wattage in the 5w to 15w range. If C23 crashes, drop the p core clock back to 5.6 and/or drop the negative offset by 0.005 until it's stable (so you might end up at negative 0.060), then go one more drop of 0.005.
Funnily/ironically enough, Jayz has a decent introductory video about it titled "How to keep your CPU from melting!" from 3 months ago that goes through the basics (although I think he's using a 13700k so ignore the actual numbers he's using). Also you can do what he's doing in XTU in your bios (pro-tip, hold shift when selecting "restart" in windows to bring up the advanced restart menu that you can select to jump into the bios).
Also most everything said about the 13900k/ks/kf also applies to the 14900k with slight changes in the exact numbers. My 13900k runs on a negative 0.070v offset (and a change to MSI's load lite) with a 270w short power limit, and the hottest core doing a c23 run is under 97 on my 360aio with Kryosheet pad, no thermal throttling and cinebench score is not far off what I got at stock when I first built the system (where it'll suck down 310 watts and quickly throttles). It's 24/7 stable and runs games perfectly (in games it uses much less power and is nowhere near as hot). Oh, and make sure you pick balanced for your windows power settings, the higher ones will screw with your core parking & downthrottling.

Also the 14th Gen is locked on a dead socket, so you literally need a new mobo if you want to jump from it to upcoming Arrow Lake.
In my honest opinion it's a bad investment even if your current hardware is old.
Way much smarter move is to wait the new socket, so you will get at least some extra life on your next PC. That is, if you plan on investing to an intel machine.

yeah I have a 2x16gb (32gb) 5600 kit at 6000 with tightened subtimings on. I have a 13600k as well, and it's undervolted/overclocked too in addition to my cache at 4.8. Either your memory controller on your motherboard is bad or you "lost the silicon lottery" on your controller as many manufacturers would say LOL. shits ridiculous. did you apply all on the XMP if you're using that?

      It's not MHz, it's transfers.

@@kramnull8962 It shows a lack on comprehension by the person doing the memory tuning. What else do they not comprehend?

…and some time later… intel CEO is pushed out due to poor company performance. Intel 14th gen i9 cpu have more significant degradation issues causing blue screens.
Then intel brings out a new cpu using chipset architecture.
Guess AMD are not so stupid..
I rock an AMD ryzen 7800x3d qwith an Rtx 3090 and it just works, but I am considering looking for workstation.. this time I will consider the 9950 from AMD .. i agree that 16 core x3d cpus do not just work..
intel used to be best for workstation but they draw too much power and their boost algorithms are too aggressive.
