- In an LBC interview, host Lewis Goodall and Mark Regev discuss the death toll of journalists and civilians in Gaza, where Goodall asserts, “They wouldn’t be dead if it wasn’t for Israeli Rockets.”
Strikes on day 101 of Israel’s war on Gaza have killed at least 33 Palestinians, taking the death toll in the besieged enclave to over 24,000 since 7 October.
This number includes more than 10,400 children. At least 60,317 people have been wounded and over 8,000 people are still missing or believed to be buried under the rubble of buildings targeted in Israeli bombardment.
The investigations by the Committee to Protect Journalists show that more than 80 journalists and media workers were among the killed, 6 journalists were reported injured, 3 journalists reported missing, and 25 journalists arrested as of January 15, 2024.

I don’t know man, logically think of it this way is it possible for democratically elected government to engage in a war using higher risk boots on the ground tactics as opposed to high intensity aerial bombing which carries less risk to friendly service personnel. Doesn’t make it right but that’s logic you must overcome to see there will never be a ceasefire of bombing. It’s just bad politics to use any other form of warfare as to do so would lose the government power.

..and when it comes to the death toll of journalists, aid workers, and medical personnel, this isn't just as a result of the totality of their assault on Gaza. It's quite well documented how Israel have targeted journalists and their families, Doctors etc.. you can make yourself comfortable by denying the facts, but it doesn't change the fact or reality. This should be included on the hearing - On the 7th, there were no direct attacks on civilians, only collateral damage. Out of the 769 names on the Haaretz dataset, 462 were military personnel, including 55 soldiers, 13 privates, 59 corporals, 200 sergeants (45 of whom were sergeant majors), 48 commanders, 32 lieutenants, 5 lieutenant colonels, 6 colonels, 37 officers, 10 inspectors, 6 intendents, and 2 Lance Corp. This was a military defeat, and they are taking it out on the rest.
Out of the 1148 total names, 403 were military personnel, 59 belonged to the police, and 668 were civilians. This means that the collateral damage on the 7th was lower than any of the iTf "mowing" operations, which has a ratio of 6:1. The ratio of civilians to military personnel killed on the 7th was 1.6:1, with 462 military personnel out of 1148 total. When including all casualties, not just deaths, the collateral damage ratio of the "mowing" operations is 162:1 and not "just" 6:1 based on analyzing UN OHC data from 2008 to 2022.
A 162 :1 ratio means that for every 162 civillians, 1 military personnel is a casualty. The 7th had a ratio of 1.6:1, a hundred times lower.
The reported (not all have their ages listed) ages of the victims are as follows:
0-4: 2 civilians
5-12: 8 civilians
13-17: 14 civilians
18-25: 132 civilians
26-40: 119 civilians
41-60: 55 civilians
61+: 40 civilians

Like most people, I have always been appalled by the events of WW2 and everytime there was a documentary I would watch with the same horror in my mind and feel for the Jews. Over the years those images have always made me feel for the Jewish people despite being a Muslim. We all know how terrible those events were. But I don't know how I feel about Israel and its people with what they are doing so wilfully, deliberately and constantly lying and gaslighting the world. I don't think I'm the only one that feels that way. No matter what Israel has lost this war already. She has lost the empathy of the world and especially the young generation who are demonstrating all over the world.
