Lotus just has this primeval appearance that really draws the eye of your soul, similar to certain orchid blossoms or the spider lilies.
Great observation. The 1st time I saw a close up picture I was dazzled and just had to see them in person. They are some of the most beautiful in my opinion. Thank you for visiting my garden.
Lotus tubers high nutrients.
Planning on cooking and eating in an upcoming episode. Thank you.
I enjoyed this very much
These folks were very gracious to allow me to visit and tape their flowers.
Beautiful. I’m planning to grow one but I need a big pot
Mine did not make it thru the 13 days below freezing. I hope to try again. I just fell in love with these flowers. When you get yours going I hope you will let me know.
What a fun trip. Wonderful folks to entertain us all with their project. Thank you Scott & Virginia & Wayland.
You meet the nicest folk in a garden.
And now,-what about mosquito control?
There are a couple ways and I think I will try both this year. 1 is to add the small mosquito pellets directly to the water. Did not seem to hurt his lotus last year. Also there are small fish that eat the larva. Scott had frogs show up and keep his containers clean. Thank you for visiting my garden.
trying to grow sacred lotus how does he winter over his lotus thank u
He has very large pots and he said he was going to cover them with leaves. My little ones that just started, I was going to bring them in side. I am very new to lotus so if you come across better advice, please let me know.
Being a Cambodian who got to experience the lotus in my mother's home country, it really warms my heart to see an American gardener growing this plant with so much passion. I love how beautiful these plants are and I'm so impressed by the use of containers! I'm curious, how exactly was the seed tip cut off? Is there a best method for this?
Thank you for watching. I think these flowers are beautiful. Here is a video showing how I cut off the ends. Let me know what you think. th-cam.com/video/gB18iyblPRQ/w-d-xo.html
We had lotus growing years back. A neighbor from Asia stopped by and asked if she could to collect some leaves. She wanted her grandkids to experience what she had used as dinner plates back home.
