@@maxireigl1919 really? I imagined to to be deep and alluring as was his role in Faustus, to be the gentlemanly and alluring figure who gave him knowledge and fear, rather than a silly goblin sounding thing lol
@@lowhp_comic While, admittedly, he is very high here: One of the best versions I've seen of the character is in Goethes german version of Faust, with Mephistopheles played by Gustav Gründgens (I think parts of it like 'prologue in heaven' are even here on TH-cam). Since that is the version I am most familiar with that's the one I imagine most, I guess.
@@maxireigl1919 it makes me imagine that Mephisto in this and in Apocalypse is alike a mish-mash of both versions ( Goethe's and Marlowe's ) Story-Wise and Appearance-Wise I do say your explanation does put in quite the sense, now that I think about it.
Personally, I think it would've been better if instead of getting attacked at the end of the conversation, you had to choose between attacking to protect the doctor or betting your soul to win the doctor's back based on the outcome of the fight. Which option you choose would determine whether or not Mephisto claims his soul and possibly let the doctor live longer due to getting a 'you now age normally' version of the deal ending instead of the 'age to dust as time catches up' version. The difference would be because he has to follow through on relinquishing the doctor and you had to leave him alive for it where in the version we get, he seems to have escaped and gotten the soul anyway. You'd unlock him either way since that's the point but it'd add more to the encounter. It seems odd he'd start the fight to steal your soul with no provocation after delivering all that exposition about the research leading to the nahobino and being aware of how powerful you are. If he really did escape instead of dying, I guess that could've been some kind of trick he was secure in pulling off, but it'd also fit with his character to give you a chance to bargain back a real win if you play on his terms.
I absolutely love how quirky his animations are 😩🙏🏿

His voice is...higher than I expected
I dunno, I can't think of Mephistopheles as having anything but a high-pitch voice.
