I just bought a 2005 Ford GT 2 months ago. I've already put 2,000 miles on mine and I can't get enough of it! It's intoxicating. It gets all of your senses going the entire time you drive it, every time, from the feel of the shifter ball to the aesthetics of the cockpit, to the sound of the supercharger while cruising... It's all just so incredible! I've never once thought it feels cheap nor like a kit car. It feels like one of the most awesome cars ever built with the street presence to match! I also have a Superformance GT40 and was going to get a new Ford gt, but everything I've seen and everyone I've talked to that has the new gt says they like the 2005 way better (new one is fairly boring to drive).. so I guess I'll save the $1M+ and enjoy what I've got 😂

The design was in place before the engine choice was finalized. A V8 physically couldn't fit in the engine bay with how tight the packaging is.
Not to mention it was a fuel efficient and extremely reliable engine choice . Both things that are very important when it comes to endurance racing.

I watched the first video and it's amazing how many miles that car has on it. like he says he drives it. I also agree with him I like the 05 model better. its so much more like the original GT-40s which are great looking cars. and I like the manual transmission much more. but don't get me wrong the new GT is a an aerodynamic masterpiece, there is simply nothing better. and it has a very impressive engine in it. but this is the part that everyone isn't going to like what I have to say. at six hundred plus grand, Ford aparrentlly thinks these cars are made of of gold. especially when you put it along side a Corvette. which will keep up with it for just over one hundred grand, and that's a fact. so again don't get me wrong I like the Ford GT. I'm just not on board with the huge cost difference. maybe as far as I can figure the reason is to keep the car out of reach for just anyone. and that the cars are so special that they should owned by special owners. hell I probably shouldn't say anything. because I'll never be able to own a GT and even drive one.

Buy and enjoy what you like .... I have 18, most bought new. I LOVE 💌 my 1978 base model Thunderbird delivered 9/21/77 with 260k miles just as much as my 2022 Mustang GT 6 speed convertible. Nothing is for sale at ANY price ....

These cars live in a strange space. I think Ford put marketing their V6 ecoboost brand above all else when, in reality, ecoboost has been synonymous with many different chronic widespread engine failures from head gaskets, to carbon build up, to timing chains, to catastrophic bearing failure. Ecoboost has become synonymous with “Ecoboom” with a huge number of well documented premature engine failures. Ford is the same company that couldn’t engineer sparkplugs that don’t blow out of the head or break in half when removing them on even their best selling vehicle the F150. They’ve lost their way.

When you manufacture as many vehicles as they do, there are going to be some issues. All the big manufacturers are the same way.

Ecoboost engines have a stellar reputation for reliability and longevity dude. If you want a reliable turbocharged engine, you buy an Ecoboost.

The ecoboost engine that they took to LeManns ran flawlessly. a huge part of the problem is when Ford's engineers designed the ecoboost engine. they didn't factor in a bunch people mopping around like grannies with them. but the truth is it's not a very good engine, but that's nothing new for Ford Motor Company. since they can only produce GARBAGE. the fact is everything they make is GARBAGE!!!
