I have said this a million times, but I wanna repeat especially after watching the live action and Oda making sure Alivda stays in the series. I wanna see Koby and Alvida meet again. She was his tormentor and reason for joining the marines and with her being free and on a Yonko crew with the final arc, I just think it would be poetic to see him even for a moment effortlessly defeat and capture her.

On the contrary, I think "revenge" fits when interpreted in the basic concept of its definition and not a character goal for Luffy. Like Morj alluded to, this is a symbolic scenario wherein Luffy and the Straw Hats have a ripe opportunity to put the hurt on a foe (the Marines) that has been the bane of their existence... all story. You're right. Revenge specifically for the sake of getting payback on foes that beat them in the past is not the top of their to-do list at this time, getting out with Vegapunk is. However, impeding that goal is an organization that has pursued them in the past, in which there are notable figures in that organization that have personally wronged them, Kizaru and Lucci as 2 ex, are directly impeding them that they must confront to get out. Now, the SH personally may not put too much stock in the coincidence in the foes they are facing because they do have other priorities, but we, the audience, know. We see these Matchups and go "huh, these *are* the same as before. There's an opportunity here." Which Oda has setup masterfully cause here we are talking about that very thing under a video talking about that very thing. What a way to bring it all back around eh?
True, this is more of a "rematch" to test their strength and their worthiness of being in the race to become the Pirate King. They don't really feel anger but more like they see an obstacle they need to overcome.
I always felt that Kizaru was secretly trying to protect luffy. Even in Marineford he kicked luffy back to the protection of Whitebeard, and all of his yasakamino magatama convenienly missed law's submarine. In Wano he repeatedly volunteered to intervene even though there were 2 Yonkous. I feel Kizaru's hands are tied, but he is a secret helper....
Same, I agree to that. Kizaru seems mysterious but he's probably often low-key following his gut feeling, wherever possible. Like the cop that may pull you over for speeding, but ultimately lets you off with a warning if there was a good reason like, wife giving birth in hospital or so...

I really want Zoro to get a decisive win against Lucci. It is actually insane how few fights he has gotten in the New World. That and stunting on some Vice Admirals would help cement Zoro as the true challenger to mihawk's throne.
Zoro has had more major New World fights than anyone else, aside from Luffy of course. Even Sanji doesn't have as many, because he didn't get one in Dressrosa or in Whole Cake (minor clashes with Doflamingo and Judge notwithstanding), only in Wano. Whereas Zoro got one in Dressrosa and more than one in Wano.
Zoro has fought in every arc besides whole cake, because he wasn't there and Zou because it wasn't a fighting arc. If you meant challenging sure but saying Zoro of all people hasn't fought enough is crazy
Sanji is the one that barely got fights in the New World minus small skirmishes Zoro got a main fight in each arc Dragon and Monet in punk hazard, pica in dressrosa Kaido and King in Wano
Wow. Oda's writing literally means the strawhats don't need to lose, this is all payoff for long held tension. With all the great moments previously, we were still only climbing up the rollercoaster. Oda is insane.

In the opposite direction I think Buggy will finally come for his revenge against luffy. If he just learns some haki and awakens his devil fruit, Buggy and Luffy would have the most wackiest cartoon fight ever. One Piece has been building towards a comedic fight for the one piece
I want to see what Fujitora’s end game is. Most of all, I want to see what the Strawhat grand fleet will do. Because you know when they come back into the story, it’s going to be epic from that note that was dropped when they all set off from dresRosa.
Morj is playing it up for hype but Luffy has a list of people who've wronged him. Kizaru is one of them for actually terrorizing his crew. He may have other goals in the moment (like rn in Egghead), but you bet your ass he would on sight anyone from that list of folks. And wouldn't you know it Kizaru is _right there._
I can't wait to see Kiazru in the live action series. The fact that the admirals arw based on real japanese actors they just need to find look alikes of those actors.
Just throwing it out there, one last character who Luffy never got a rematch against would be Magellan. Man defeated Luffy and BB effortlessly, and then got beaten by BB in cover stories (probably through a sneak attack/group effort). Luffy never got a rematch, and Magellan stepped down as Warden. Idk, maybe it's not really needed anyway, since we know that Luffy is immune to most poisons now THANKS to Magellan, but it's worth remembering that Magellan is one more guy that successfully kept Luffy from rescuing Ace

My Most Anticipated Moments In Last Saga: Luffy meeting Imu Luffy fighting Akainu Ussop finally meeting Yassop Reuniting with the Red Hair Pirates Getting to Elbaf Law reunification with SH Pirates Finding out what the One Piece is Teaming up with Cross Guild to fight WG/Navy (maybe??) Mihawk vs Zoro Dragon meeting Luffy, finding out who Luffy’s mom is Jinbei setting foot on Mariejois like Tiger did Sanji meeting up with Pudding again Luffy vs Koby Brook meeting up with Laboon again finally There’s more of course, but those are all really anticipated by me!
Since the Marines were set-up to arrieve at Egghead, my view of the ark is set in an event like Sabaody. It may not be a complete disaster, but it seems to me it will be a bittersweet victory at best. Even after all the victories the Strawhats had scored, there still to many threats that are still unresolved. Kizaru, Saturn, York, CP0, the Seraphim, the Mark3, the Vice-Admirals, the Blackbeard Pirates, the Mother Flame, the Original Kuma, it's just too much for a clean victory. To be clear, they can still win the major battles (like Kizaru, Saturn, Rob Lucci, etc...), but still lose key points. They can lose their ship (like Kidd and Law), maybe Vegapunk and Bonny are captured (by the Marines or by Blackbeard) or perhaps they are force to separate again. If they win, great! They have proven to be in the next level, but they can't be put in a comfort zone. Sometimes, bad things occur, even if you had the power to stop it. Even winning battles, things can go bad.
@@CountDVB In case of Franky's dream, it will be set-back but not the end. He will be devasted, but he can still build another one. (He can even build a new Pluton). And, I agree separating them individually would be repetitive, but separating into groups would allow them to flesh out the world and to reunite ready for the final war.
Story wise is what I am expecting, Luffy can literally catch Lightning now, although technically I wouldn't say he's unstoppable, There's still sea prism tech that can stop Luffy on his tracks, Black Beard might not be as strong but he's tricky and will probably take away his fruit powers leaving him with Haki only for a while although Rubber power is probably almost useless for any one other than Luffy. I can also see an alliance between Black Beard and Luffy forming somehow despite everything.
Even then Sea Prism stone doesn't weaken Luffy that much anymore it takes his DF power away, but that's it. He still has great Haki and strong base strength.
In the most recent movies, Luffy was too spent to fight Kizaru after taking out an enemy boss, but always gets a miraculous escape. We are in the Final Saga.... Kizaru needs his deserved beat down.
I'm looking forward too seeing all of this unfold but unfortunately I've begun to notice something I can't ignore. A lot of the fights lately just don't really seem to hold any tension or stakes. Maybe this is just me looked through jaded eyes. But even Luffy awakening Gear5 against Kaido didn't see too serious; Luffy is the main character and even if the manga wasn't way ahead, we know he's not going to die. These fight always wind up with a lot to gain, but never really much to lose. That's why I think more semi-frequent deaths or romance would make some of these situations more suspenseful and tense.
For some people, there are times where the past will still catch up to you. However, it can work 2 ways either you don't learn from your past failures and repeat them, or you learn from them and will be able to move past them. As Morj said, that's more or less happening the Straw Hats learned from their past failures and as a result, they got stronger to where those that had already beaten them down are having a hard time or will have a hard time against them.
I want to see The marines getting rekt and then get traded with the cross guild for a shit ton of money which gets spent in the biggest party at elbaf😂😂 😂
It's nice to see someone who understand the grand narrative at play rather than many of the hype dumb powerscalers out there who don't understand the story they are reading.

You are reaching. Every arc is a revenge plot since the very beginning. Every villain is tormenting the locals and even bosses around the straw hats before they have their revenge. If you meant it's going to be more satisfying after they lost so badly, Oda has been failing to deliver revenge*orn for quite some time. Mihawk is the oldest example.

im interested to see how blackbeards ship could play into this fight at egghead. Knowing the BB pirates it could be very likely that after a hard battle against kizaru they attempt to jump the straw hats and try to take advantage of their exhaustion. Also gonna be very interesting to see the gorosei reaction to the outcome of luffy fighting an admiral. If he wins will we get to see a bounty increase?

You're correct and the crazy part is how this frames Kizaru as the Arc 1 boss of a grander saga. Whomever the final villain will be they are set up to make Kizaru look like A Bellamy, Wapol or Caesar Clown... that's fucked
Let me put my theory out there in case it comes to be true. I think chopper is gonna awaken a kind of artificial sulong form from a mix of his rumble balls and the ice oni virus, giving him physical might greater than his monster point and ice powers to boot!!! Chopper's relevancy in the story (especially combat wise) has slowed down quite a bit in the new world, but I believe Oda has been building up this power up ever since the introduction of the minks. In appearance chopper looks a lot like a mink and that similarity may have been intentional from oda's part. Since the introduction of sulong forms there has been a trend to show how different minks look like under the full moon, so a sulong-esque chopper would be a perfect last addition to the list, with the ice powers being a nice throwback at his snowy origins.
I'm looking forward to blackbeard vs luffy match up and seeing what black beards awakening is! I really hope he is the logia awakening we get to see first.

Sounds legit. Yonko Saga was the training for the battle of the current Final Saga. Dogtooth was training for Kizaru. Wrestling Linlin in Udon while seastone Handcuffed was training for Teach .And finally Strongest Creature was training for the fight against the most offensive power:Magma.

The Elder being at Egghead could be also a build up for the inverse of the Charlos Punch. Luffy will defeat the "Consenqunces" of hitting a Celestial Dragon before landing a Nika fist in the face of one of the biggest Celestial Dragons in the world.
I think we are all getting a bit ahead of ourselves. I personally do not think, there will be a winner between Luffy and Kizaru. I think this will be mire of an opportunity for Oda to finally show us the true strength of the Admirals - at least the originals. In the fight between Garp and Aokiji, we didn't get to see a proper fair fight between the two, and a lot of the fight happened off page. So this will be the first true display of power from the original Admirals.

I thought the same. The only problem is: it will be extremely boring if the strawhats don't get a "revenge arc". Setting up a revenge and not following with it is one of the most infuriating thins a writer can do in whatever type of media. It's extremely infuriating. I really want to see this happen but i'm really worried about it not happening. I don't think Luffy will personally defeat Kizaru, Akainu and Black Beard (each of those personally affected him) but at least i really expect a scene where he will show them their place. If that doesn't happens , i will be very frustrated by it. Akainu situation is even worse imo. He delievered the killing blow on Ace. If another character like Dragon, Shanks or whatever fights Akainu it will not be cool imo.

Zoro has had more major New World fights than anyone else, aside from Luffy of course. Even Sanji doesn't have as many, because he didn't get one in Dressrosa or in Whole Cake (minor clashes with Doflamingo and Judge notwithstanding), only in Wano. Whereas Zoro got one in Dressrosa and more than one in Wano.
Zoro has fought in every arc besides whole cake, because he wasn't there and Zou because it wasn't a fighting arc. If you meant challenging sure but saying Zoro of all people hasn't fought enough is crazy

Man defeated Luffy and BB effortlessly, and then got beaten by BB in cover stories (probably through a sneak attack/group effort). Luffy never got a rematch, and Magellan stepped down as Warden. Idk, maybe it's not really needed anyway, since we know that Luffy is immune to most poisons now THANKS to Magellan, but it's worth remembering that Magellan is one more guy that successfully kept Luffy from rescuing Ace

Since the Marines were set-up to arrieve at Egghead, my view of the ark is set in an event like Sabaody. It may not be a complete disaster, but it seems to me it will be a bittersweet victory at best.
Even after all the victories the Strawhats had scored, there still to many threats that are still unresolved.
Kizaru, Saturn, York, CP0, the Seraphim, the Mark3, the Vice-Admirals, the Blackbeard Pirates, the Mother Flame, the Original Kuma, it's just too much for a clean victory.
To be clear, they can still win the major battles (like Kizaru, Saturn, Rob Lucci, etc...), but still lose key points.
They can lose their ship (like Kidd and Law), maybe Vegapunk and Bonny are captured (by the Marines or by Blackbeard) or perhaps they are force to separate again.
If they win, great! They have proven to be in the next level, but they can't be put in a comfort zone. Sometimes, bad things occur, even if you had the power to stop it. Even winning battles, things can go bad.

In case of Franky's dream, it will be set-back but not the end. He will be devasted, but he can still build another one. (He can even build a new Pluton).
And, I agree separating them individually would be repetitive, but separating into groups would allow them to flesh out the world and to reunite ready for the final war.

Story wise is what I am expecting, Luffy can literally catch Lightning now, although technically I wouldn't say he's unstoppable, There's still sea prism tech that can stop Luffy on his tracks, Black Beard might not be as strong but he's tricky and will probably take away his fruit powers leaving him with Haki only for a while although Rubber power is probably almost useless for any one other than Luffy. I can also see an alliance between Black Beard and Luffy forming somehow despite everything.
Even then Sea Prism stone doesn't weaken Luffy that much anymore it takes his DF power away, but that's it. He still has great Haki and strong base strength.
In the most recent movies, Luffy was too spent to fight Kizaru after taking out an enemy boss, but always gets a miraculous escape.
We are in the Final Saga.... Kizaru needs his deserved beat down.
I'm looking forward too seeing all of this unfold but unfortunately I've begun to notice something I can't ignore. A lot of the fights lately just don't really seem to hold any tension or stakes. Maybe this is just me looked through jaded eyes. But even Luffy awakening Gear5 against Kaido didn't see too serious; Luffy is the main character and even if the manga wasn't way ahead, we know he's not going to die. These fight always wind up with a lot to gain, but never really much to lose. That's why I think more semi-frequent deaths or romance would make some of these situations more suspenseful and tense.

For some people, there are times where the past will still catch up to you. However, it can work 2 ways either you don't learn from your past failures and repeat them, or you learn from them and will be able to move past them. As Morj said, that's more or less happening the Straw Hats learned from their past failures and as a result, they got stronger to where those that had already beaten them down are having a hard time or will have a hard time against them.

Let me put my theory out there in case it comes to be true. I think chopper is gonna awaken a kind of artificial sulong form from a mix of his rumble balls and the ice oni virus, giving him physical might greater than his monster point and ice powers to boot!!!
Chopper's relevancy in the story (especially combat wise) has slowed down quite a bit in the new world, but I believe Oda has been building up this power up ever since the introduction of the minks. In appearance chopper looks a lot like a mink and that similarity may have been intentional from oda's part. Since the introduction of sulong forms there has been a trend to show how different minks look like under the full moon, so a sulong-esque chopper would be a perfect last addition to the list, with the ice powers being a nice throwback at his snowy origins.
I'm looking forward to blackbeard vs luffy match up and seeing what black beards awakening is! I really hope he is the logia awakening we get to see first.

I think we are all getting a bit ahead of ourselves. I personally do not think, there will be a winner between Luffy and Kizaru. I think this will be mire of an opportunity for Oda to finally show us the true strength of the Admirals - at least the originals. In the fight between Garp and Aokiji, we didn't get to see a proper fair fight between the two, and a lot of the fight happened off page. So this will be the first true display of power from the original Admirals.

I thought the same. The only problem is: it will be extremely boring if the strawhats don't get a "revenge arc". Setting up a revenge and not following with it is one of the most infuriating thins a writer can do in whatever type of media. It's extremely infuriating.
I really want to see this happen but i'm really worried about it not happening. I don't think Luffy will personally defeat Kizaru, Akainu and Black Beard (each of those personally affected him) but at least i really expect a scene where he will show them their place.
