Graham, that looks like fantastic fun! Just wondering...do you sell the plans for the boat? I am located in the US and would love to build it for a little lake here.
I like the idea; however, it would be nice to have such a boat that did not try to mimic a yacht... A small one man sailboat. Also, some sort of head rest looks like it might be useful. Regardless of my opinion, brilliant work.
There are lots of small sailing dinghies out there. The whole point of this one is that it's a miniature replica of a larger yacht, right down to the simulated windows.
no more difficult then a Kayak the boat is so light that I'd not be suprised if you couldn't just shift your weight and flip it back round like a Kayak, though it's not designed for that and you'd still have to get out and swim to shore.
Very cool, a smile is a smile weather its on a 6' or 56' yacht! In Lyttelton NZ we have some similar sized yachts that were used for disabled people to learn in, the have heavier keels and higher freeboard of course, but it was a while ago and they are parked up now, shame
Learn2saillyttelton I applied for s job in Lyttleton but didn't get it....dream place to live with the yacht club right next to rugby club! I 'd be permanently wobbly wandering between the two bars....
Amazing project, I am interested in purchasing the plant. It is not financially viable to import the full sailboat, tax incidence. I am looking for small sailboat for manufacturing in Brazil.
I'm not sure but ,if anyone else wants to learn about boat plans sale try Joolaim Rudder Replication (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my m8 got great success with it.

They look cute, but claustrophobic. I think I will stay with my home built Firebug sailing dinghy, it’s 8ft, not as pretty, but faster & more seaworthy
agreed. could use steel cables/ blocks instead of soldered joints/ cranks. And would leave the hands free to deal with the sheaths or hold the back of the head (for a brief relief...)
I guess I can see the appeal for some, but I'd bet that for the price of this thing, you'd be able to buy a good used trailerable sailboat in the 16 to 20' range which would give so much more adventure for the money.
Fine on a small lake in a light breeze but I'd rather have a conventional dinghy tbh - faster and a lot safer - I'm assuming they have some form of built in buoyancy tanks and can be righted after the inevitable capsize but bailing it to get it stable again looks difficult. Is there a video of capsizing and recovering one of these? Having a weighted daggerboard is a concern unless its locked into place because once it turns turtle that will drop out.
Cute! Although I am more than a little concerned about the potential for a trapped leg and consequent drowning in the inevitable capsize. Particularly since your target market seems selling a novelty to the inexperienced.
There is a fair amount of demand for these but it appears nobody knows who to contact, I recommend if they are still being sold that the company reinstate their website as they will make a fortune.
domegamer8, they are hard to flip because the weight of the pilot is below the line of flotation - your body is the ballast. But these are safe for mirror water, not choppy.
You need a website and international ordering system. I am sure a lot of people are in the same mindset as me, wanting to pore over technical info and start figuring out how to get one. I live in Australia so the only contact being your postal address is a major turn-off.
Makes you wonder what a great business opportunity this idea represents, doesn't it? I am not misrepresenting the effort and work that goes into a well finished product, but the demand seems to exist if the interest shown in these comments are any indicator. I for one would pay for the plans and building instructions, and make one myself by stitch-and-glue. I loved airmodels all my life, but since 2 years I am into building rc sailboats, mostly footies. Now I'm beginning to deal with fiberglass and epoxy resin, so thinking about building a micro thing like this to sail inside seems doable bloody right!
What is the advantage of having the front half of the boat decked in rather than just keeping it open so you can get to the front if you have to (for example, if the jib gets tangled)? Is the idea that it would keep water out in rough seas?
The most obvious thing is that it is designed to look like a full size sailboat just miniature. If it didn't have a deck and cabin top and port outlines then it would just look like a sailing dinghy.
He's gonna buy a dinghy Gonna call her dignity And I'll sail her up the west coast Through villages and towns I'll be on my holidays They'll be doing their rounds They'll ask me how I got her I'll say "I saved my money" They'll say isn't she pretty that ship called dignity
sywart bruinsma just some friendly advice, instead of getting one of these get a laser or a sunfish or something along those lines, they are much more stable if you know how to sail them and can be balanced by the skippers weight on a boat this small it is possible you’ll capsize so why are you putting you body into a grave
interesting points ,if anyone else wants to discover building wooden boats plans try Joolaim Rudder Replication (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my mate got great results with it.
@@wombatski100 people use strap in Kayaks all the time. If you're a half decent swimmer (and you've got a life vest on to boot) then getting out of this thing aught not to be difficult at all, the lines are routed to prevent you getting tangled in them as well.
I cant stop laughing this is so cool. never heard of these before. respect
Very nice miniature sailboats thank you for sharing your video
Actually sits very nice in the water and looks like it sails well too! Obviously for protected waters, but they look like a hoot! Nice job...
My neck got sore watching this video. Cool little boat though!
Seems to be bad for the neck
this might be the only boat I could afford
#Relatable
Jean-Francois Joly nah
You could get an Opti or maybe even a lazer
I’m sorry to say it but it costs over 3500 £
I want to build one from plans. That's how I could afford one.
That mast is thinner than a Sunfish's!
A sloop carrying a GIANT HEAD!!!
this brought a HUGE smile to my face!
love to see grown ups smile like kids:)
This is so brilliant! I want one!
Very nice little sailboat. Do you have plans for sale? I'd love to build one.
Graham, that looks like fantastic fun! Just wondering...do you sell the plans for the boat? I am located in the US and would love to build it for a little lake here.
Nice, but how do you escape in case of capsize ???
Captain always goes down with his ship.😝
A big non-RC model yacht.

going shopping with your sailboot under your arm, great
WOW very cool sail boat !!!!!!!!!!
Their amazing well done, absolutely amazing
Makes my Compac 16 look like a Swan
It's cute but I'd be panicked about being stuck inside and drowning if it capsized. How hard is it to escape from in that situation?
no more difficult then a Kayak the boat is so light that I'd not be suprised if you couldn't just shift your weight and flip it back round like a Kayak, though it's not designed for that and you'd still have to get out and swim to shore.

What a terrific little sailboat! What kind of budget would one need to get one of these? Any retailers in Canada?
Molto interessante, complimenti!!
Where can it be bought ?? Prices ?? Possibility of buying a building license , for building diy abroad (Brazil) ??
Aaaah this is adorable.

A one man yacht that's finally a idea that makes sense
I think that is really cool and very cute. It would be neat to sail in one but I am not sure it could take my weight.

So, a slightly less practical sailing canoe, with a styling job?
Love it ! where can i buy one!?
When over the Atlantic? :)
go titanic, maybe you do...
I realise your comment is almost a year old, but that was my exact question. When will someone do a blue water ocean crossing in one of these?
Hi, very cool little yacht. What's the price for it?
Hi but from Minuet Yachts po box 61 Bude Cornwall EX23 8YG --Graham White
I thought it was a RC boat at first. :)
And add a big, wobbling head! Make it wave a hand too.

I don’t see an outboard so I’m guessing it’s got inboard engine 😉
Just kidding, looks very cool for messing around with on a calm pond or lake.
Name it, The Neck Ache
I so have to have one of these !
You got a million dollar yacht?
*PFFF*
*picks up little boat and sits in it*
I could see steering with foot pedals as an advantage instead of the stick.

kinda hard to get meat on the rail

John Rogers Yeah, the Illusion class/mini 12 meter is better designed in my opinion, has a proper keel and comes with a symmetrical spinnaker.
Published in 2013?
I didn't even think that they made these anymore.
I've have seen a couple of wood replicas over the years though.

Looks super uncomfortable, do you just hold your head up like that the whole time?
I am sure you can come up with some sort of head rest when you build your own micro personal minuet.
Too simple, too cool!!
Too stupid!
spiders ughhh
Can it flip easy or it is very hard to flip

how do you by one?
Its a coffin with a sail on top.
Wonder if Branson would try crossing the Atlantic in that
interesting but rather keep my old Wayfarer

Poly Hexamethyl it’s to save on coffin expense. See how it’s designed for “viewing” right away with the persons head and shoulders exposed?

Phil M, it looks really cool, and light by the way the dude lifts and handles it.
The guy designed it for use in Britain, so keeping rain out is a major factor.
Cool
How can I get one of these.
Turns into a water coffin when you capsize lol
Gurn Blanstein lmao first thing I thought of
Very good! 👍🏻🙂
Where can I get one
Genial!!!!
How much are these

Nice
doesn't look safe. What if it goes turtle?
How long have you been making these? I remember seeing one sailing several times where I live and that must have been back in the 80's.
I want one that looks like a Wally Yacht...
They are so cool, could a weight handicap be worked out so say a guy 110 kg could sail against a 70- 90 kg guy?? Would be awsome.
How much..? I'm wanna to buy! Can you tell me, please?!
I wants to
Too
I want to but itttttt
how do you get in and how do you get out if you have to

Fantastic Graham. Many, many thanks. I think my kids would enjoy this as well. Thank you.
Nevet did. Couldn't track anybody down that was making them.
Is it seaworthy?
MemesRequired I seriously doubt it
No. It's borderline unsafe. If you want to go sailing simply, get a dinghy.
MemesRequired absolutely it is. I just sailed Liverpool to Belfast in one. Felt safe the whole way
Am I missing something or have you not heard of a dinghy?
Well that is certainly different.
Certainly stupid as hell from a sailors point of view! Where. Do you stow your gear?
At first sight, thought it was an RC
Need autopilot
You might as well get a dinghy

Spinnaker
Its spinnachquere.
I didn't see any fittings for it, but it would not be too hard too add. Tricky to rig from inside that cockpit.
