- After weather closed out my days for the Adirondacks and Catskills, I found myself in Harriman State Park for yet another local adventure. This time around I heading back to the old town of Doodletown (in Bear Mtn State Park) to see how much it has changed in the past 5 years.
What started out as an ambitious goal to visit the entire town transformed into a short stay as a Mama bear and 2 cubs had pre-existing plans that did not include me being there.
All in all it was a fantastic few days of nothing but pure hiking, something I've been needing for a long time.
Safe travels my friends, thanks for watching!

It's a great experience to see the bears. It reminded me how I saw the mother bear with two cubs while coming down the Blood Mountain on Appalachian Trail. Great stuff 👍
Always a great experience. I really wish I had seen the cubs before I got them moving, I would have just sat back and got my good camera out. Thanks for checking the video out, always appreciated my friend!
Wow, great outing! Very cool area ! Thanks for sharing man, Cheers !
It really was great, exactly what I needed to decompress and reconnect with nature. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Be good brother, talk to you soon.
@@capsoutdoors I’m glad to see you got out, yes, be well, Peace ✌️
Petualangan yang hebat teman saya, camping yang luarbiasa, pemandangan disana terlihat sangat indah 👍
Thank you for checking the video out, much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed it!
wow! thank you for a vid! this place is my next destination this year.
You'll definitely enjoy it, such a great place to do a day of exploring...a lot of history back there!
@@capsoutdoors next week or after next. positive!
I was in West Canada Lakes the 3rd week in August and ya, the forecast had me worried. I was considering Pharoah Lake as an alternate. The drought dried up the ADK mud pretty well. We wound up having a killer trip though.
Nice to see you publish another video. 👍🏻
Dry mud is always a good thing, there is nothing like the Catskills or the ADK after a few days of rain. I remember one time coming in from Piseco up the NPT and the water was halfway up my thighs in one spot. I'm hoping to get a few more videos out soon, have a couple of trips planned for the fall up in Lake George and possibly Pharaoh. Thanks for checking the video out, great to see you. Be good!
Definitely wasn’t the air raid siren lol, sometimes the Fort Montgomery firehouse siren/speakers are tripped and we hear that tone. Happens every so often.
Well, we don’t call it Bear Mountain for nothing. Harriman is also home to particularly aggressive chipmunks.
Very true! Always exciting to see the Bears, unless you have all your food out when they roll up.
