The biggest issue with plasma weapons lies in the absence of a unique damage mechanism and the lack of descriptive feedback in the game when enemies catch fire. With an increased rate of fire, the DPS becomes excessively high, but at the current stage, it is still insufficient to create a significant gap compared to precise laser weapons.
I'd have to blame the game engine there, uou are right the plasma weapons dont have a weight or a feel to them. While the projectiles stick to the enemies they would be better served having some sort of penetration but the game engine isnt up for it. But even the newest creation engine cant do it yet.
I'm really looking forward to seeing a plasma damage effect similar to the scorpion in the "starship troopers" movie in the game. However, the only solution I can think of at the moment is to add fire damage to the plasma, combined with the effects of the "BURN - Hardcore Fire Effects" mod.@@BaronofCaring
@@gtself While it would certainly add something to make it feel more unique fire damage in the creation engine is lackluster at best with how they implement it. I briefly touched on it when doing dragon's breath ammo in the GRA round up but be a step in a good direction. In a more detailed game engine I think scorching and melting of an NPC's model where they were hit, even if it's a decal as well as some amount of stagger would be best. But there is only so much the creation engine can do.
I actually have my mod list posted in a community post! As for the enemy stats on the HUD that's from the level 8 perk Living Anatomy which also gives you a damage boost against humans.
With enough repair kits on hand, I don't give sh!+ What it does to the condition of the gun but max charge ammo is worth it all day every day. *& the up-graded tri-beam is boss too.
Q-35. Old reliable! ❤
Dang right, It's great
