    1/16" play is normal as shaft has rest on bearining. When it has 1/4" or more time for new wheel hub assembley

      What’s that u joint on axle shaft got to do with wheel hub assembly

      @@135-j wheel hub assembly goes out. The shaft rest on a needle bearing inside the hub. If you catch it early you can replace the bearing, if not is scars the shaft then you have to replace it and hub assembly. You'll replace u-joint in process taking the shaft apart....ask me how I know!

      @135-j yes it does don't comment false information. Wheel hub has an outer wheel bearing and inner axle shaft bearing. When the inner axle shaft bearing gets worn out it causes the axle to be loose like in this video.

    That’s normal. I always thought it was a problem till I completely replaced the entire front end to repair other issues and still had that play.

    Did anyone ever come up with a solution of what fixed this?? I just replaced all tie rods and drag link. And my hubs thinkin it was one of those that were bad, making all the noise when I was hitting bumps and driving down dirt roads.
    Drives me insane. Does anyone have an answer??

      If you replaced all that and have noise when hitting bumps it's most likely the stabilizer bar bushings gone bad

    I have a 2015 f-250 is sounding the same. And then wheel 4-wheel is engaged and I’m maken turns. Please help..

      Is it making any other noise, perhaps a howl as you drive? How many miles are on it? Check your u-joints and your hub bearings. I just finished fixing mine after a catastrophic failure. The dang thing seized up, lit on fire and blew up my tire. The problem for me specifically was the hub bearing.

    • @tailaround
      @tailaround ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ifronnin no it’s not making any howling sound. Has a slight rattle, and then when I was using the 4h and 4L climbing a hill and I made a turn and hard almost like a creaking sound and almost like a winding sound. Only when I turn. Straight there’s no sound.

    Not normal it’s the inner seal on the axle that’s bad not good change seal and maybe u joints if needed and problem solved. I had the same issue it’s not that hard and take care of what you have

    Ever figure out what the culprit was? My truck is doing the same thing when going over bumps on uneven roads, drives me crazy. Been trying to track down the problem for a year now. I replaced the worn body mounts but the noise remains.

    • @ifronnin
      @ifronnin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It seems like normal wear and play. Maybe if I replaced the axle shafts the play would go away, but hey, it works like it is. New shocks helped dampen the noise though.

      I’m embarrassed to even admit it but the noise I kept hearing was actually a loose socket that was shifting in my tool box and making a noise when I’d go over bumps. I felt pretty dumb once I figured it out!

    I’m pretty late but my tie rod bar has about a 1/16 of an inch play and sounds like something is loose when hitting bumps. When I grabbed it and pushed up and pulled down really fast it made the noise I was hearing.
    I have a question off topic if you even read this.. have you had any problems with death wobble?? I’ve changed the drag link, drag link press in bushing, tie rod ends, steering link and stabilizer still have death wobble. Any info from anyone is greatly appreciated!!

    • @ifronnin
      @ifronnin  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I sometimes get the death wobble. I’ve replaced the front end bushings and drag link and steering stabilizer, but normally it’s the tires that are the problem. By rotating them and/or replacing worn out tires the wobble goes away.

    • @floydhorslerjr8422
      @floydhorslerjr8422 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Death wobble is usually a bad track bar bushing

    • @floydhorslerjr8422
      @floydhorslerjr8422 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ifronnin the term death wobble comes from a bad track bar bushings. Changing tires won't fix a death wobble
