Heatblur & Meteor...there are no words except for 'chills.' As I heard the intro music and read the track list--'Zone V' followed by 'Fightertown,' I felt real chills down my spine.
From someone whose childhood dream was to grow up and fly the F-14, it hit hard to see the jet retired and sent to the Boneyard. *You guys* are making that dream possible again. I can't wait for release, but am glad you're taking the time to get it right first. Thank you!

@@Nitro_Blitzen Ummm not really. Only Iran still has any in service, and questionably at that since all their part supply has been cut off. It was only ever used by the U.S. Navy and Iran (the only foreign customer) and the U.S. actually destroyed all the surplus parts for Tomcats to prevent them from ending up in Iran after the Islamic Revolution.

Damn good job heatblur, i may not have the money to buy the DCS modules since they are expensive here, and im stuck with a T-16000m with no TWCS. But seeing this baby fly once again with this soundtrack brought me to nostalgia tears!

You're right. Based on their MiG-21bis it's gonna be a pretty model with heavy textures that does everything wrong, from flying to instruments.
@@ShadeAKAhayate Isn't MiG21-bis done by Leathernecks? Or are they the same?
They were the same thing, but the split into two different developers, so Heatblur has past ties with Leatherneck. The Mig is a very old module that was done when the standards for quality wasn't really all that high, that's why it's inaccurate in some areas, plus I wouldn't be suprised if some of those inaccuracies are put there on purpose, because Putin and the russian govt really doesn't like if their planes are available in high fidelity detail.
The Viggen is a 100% Heatblur module though, and it's really good quality, much better than anything Razbam or Leatherneck and Belsimtek ever did. ED themselves and Heatblur are definitely the best out there.
@@agostonbazmajer1100 The Viggen has a pretty harsh development. I don't agree with what you're saying. There was many phases were the Viggen was fuckin' frustrating to fly, either because of ED or HB. It's the truth..
I don't remember having those bad times with Belsimtek modules. I own all modules except the C-101 and yak-52. F-86/MiG-15 were great, same for the Tiger II.
Harrier is a mess.
That being said, I can say that even if it was not all good, the Viggen is my favorite module. HB has done a great job on it and I don't regret my purchase.
I'll not buy the F-14 because I'm freakin' tired of endless open betas. It's time to stop. If reviews are very very great, then I'll buy it full price ONLY if I'm sure that at least 90% of my money goes to HB. I don't support ED anymore.

In case you're interested in hearing more, this track belongs to a genre called Synthwave. Meteor has a few albums under his belt already that you can check out. I'd recommend "Parallel Lives".

Having grown up in San Diego during the time that Top Gun was filmed and then released, this aircraft is near and dear to my heart. I am truly excited to get my hands on this as soon as Heatblur sees fit to release it to us. Easily my most anticipated module ever for DCS.

Great video, the physics teams at Eagle Dynamics knock it out the park. I think the reason the DCS videos look fantastic in my view is down to how realistic the planes appear to handle and move in the air, something I've never seen with any other civil or mililary simulator. A sort of Asseto Corsa with wings!
Yes visually do looks great, but landscapes could do with improving though especially moutainous regions which have particarlary poor levels of details (bluring textures?) and soft definitions on ridges (low res mesh and textures?), although the effects, ground assets including vector details and water are fantastic.
As for the F-14, I feel the need, the need for speed!
I was listening to this OST while driving home from work - and did not notice I was trying to accelerate up to Mach 2.

I noticed that in Meteor's OST list there is a track called "Lion and the Sun". Did he choose this track name because of the Iranian F-14's purchases under the Shah of Iran?
We chose the track names - and yes - that song has a middle eastern influence so it fit very well with the Iranian theme. :)
@@HeatblurSimulations That's great, however I hope it doesn't sound like the traditional Arabic songs we hear in movies all the time - Iranians and Arabs share vastly different cultures and that includes music as well. The typical middle eastern music you hear all the time in movies involving Arabic countries in the middle east is usually parallel to Turkish bellydancing songs or Arabic folk music, which is nothing like the Iranian folk music. I hope you don't get this wrong because otherwise you will receive a lot of flak from the Iranian DCS players.
Though Meteor is a synthwave track and I don't know what to expect. ;)
