Love your Podcast. Why do they think Orlando is going to be hot & humid in February? I'll bet that it will be perfect conditions for a marathon, except the course won't challenge them for what will await them in Paris.🙃

Back in the "Duel in the Sun" Dick Beardsley almost got sideswiped by the Press Bus. That is the only other time I remember a led pack almost getting run over! Dan

Best one yet! I’m sorry to say this but Des being tired with a few drinks in her is THE BEST. High Noon! 🤣

The worst 5 minutes in sports television starts when a marathon winner crosses the finish line. Can Des and Kara use their unique experiences in racing and broadcasting to help NBC come up with a format that respects the dignity of the athlete, expands the viewer's understanding of what just happened and is entertaining? Track events do it better, cycling does it better, why is someone who is totally depleted after an incredible achievement forced to stand around with a cheap flag on their shoulders blowing snot rockets on TV? They should get a moment of privacy to recover and compose themselves while the announcers analyze how they did it and give updates about the on-going race for places 2-10. Then give the athlete a supportive environment with a broadcaster to celebrate, share their feelings, acknowledge fans, etc. The way marathon finish lines are covered is very anti-climatic when they should be the best part of the broadcast.

So sad that the app kept crashing and would not work for me during the race!! 🥲Tapping into something you all said a few pods ago about making running more accessible to viewers - why do they make it SOOOOOOOOO hard to watch the Majors and Championship events? We don't all pay for ESPN, and like many people, I have exhausted my "free trials" of various streaming services to watch previous events. It seems like very low-hanging fruit to grow the audience for running by live broadcasting on TH-cam (and for the love of gods, a playback recording). So why don't they?
