The Williams FW40
It is a Formula 1 car designed by Williams to compete in the 2017 Formula 1 season. The power unit, the eight-speed transmission system and the energy recovery system are those used by Mercedes. The car is driven by Canadian Lance Stroll, who makes his debut in the category, and Brazilian Felipe Massa, who initially retired, but when Valtteri Bottas left for Mercedes, he returned for another year. He was also driven by Scotsman Paul Di Resta, who replaced Massa in the Hungarian Grand Prix, due to physical problems.
The Williams looks like it was toying with the 919 to make it look close.
I’ve said on many of these, the formula car wins by miles. They run close to keep your interest. The formula car has WAY more downforce, is lighter, with much more horsepower (even with LMP1 battery boost.). The LMP1 defends so much more to keep it interesting. At Spa, the F1 was 13 seconds faster
This is true, and is the reason f1 is faster because they’re simply regulated to have more downforce, more power, less weight etc. but if a prototype have the same power to weight ratio as an f1, it would be faster. Because of better aero, open wheels are inherently less efficient. The Porsche 919 evo weighs almost 400 lbs(down about 90lbs from before) more than f1, skinnier tires, similar downforce, averaging less power output that f1 and still managed to lap spa, in a time that would qualify it in an f1 race. Doesn’t matter that it wasn’t regulated look at the numbers produced. I’m comparing the concept of open wheel and closed wheel race cars.

You know the F1 is heavily restricted. An unrestricted F1 would annihilate any other race car on any track. Also, F1 has already beaten the Spa time of the no rules 919.
@@jenscee7679 919 Evo never designed for spa and got harder tires..even tho 919 did only 4 laps at spa or 3 with no autoupshifts on and the car was literally configured for nürburgring and used nürburgring settings at spa the driver Neel literally said it would manage faster time and 919 Evo manages to lap at nürburgring while making those.It wasn't even cars full potential they didn't even use half of its power for safety features and the engine is much more capable than any formula 1 engine in existence for now and less aerodynamic chassis and being heavier 919 Evo is a true machinery that nobody did before.

Lies. F1 can easily overtake the 919. This LMP line is best for cornering while dropping some top speed but F1 has better cornering, acceleration and mooore top speed. Whyyyyy
