    I bought this pedal and am several months in now. The price was high and gave me pause before purchasing. So how do I feel now after a few months?
    I feel like the surface knobs and comprehensive understanding is easy to perceive and remember when programming. The BPM on the digital screen speaks my language and I love that I turn the knob and see the increments of time. The fidelity of sound is so authentic and distinct. I wish it was like $100.00 less, but I like that I went for the pedal anyway as I have found so many cool sounds. It seems to be the kind of guitar gear that is top tier in both sound and construction. It is very dimensional.
    It certainly has it's own vibe. If your budget allows it, and your passion for making distinct guitar sounds drive you heavily, you should go for it. It is inspiring and I have created some cool sounds from both thinking before manipulation of the pedal and then also after just spending lots of time dialing up interesting sounds for original material. It is intuitive. If you are a delay fiend, you should investigate.

  • @Pandamasque

    Limiter on the repeats part of signal (for oscillation) is something every analogue delay MUST have.

    • @joshuamichael4312
      @joshuamichael4312 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you please expand on this? Like limit the quantity of repeats? Or the level of the repeats?

    • @Pandamasque
      @Pandamasque 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joshuamichael4312 The level of repeats when feedback goes into oscillation. In most analogue delay pedals, even with delay mix way below the direct guitar signal, runaway feedback becomes louder than the guitar signal and with a high headroom amp just deafens everyone in the vicinity. I use DOD Rubberneck for this kind of effect, but I just HAVE to put it before overdrive so the overdrive acts as the limiter.

    When you mentioned the expression pedal controlling any function being unique to this pedal, the Strymon El Capistan can do it as well. Just the primary functions mind, but any knob on the front can be controlled which is handy. Love that tape sound 👌
    It's also near half the price with many secondary functions for toneshaping- bass/high cut, dB headroom etc. But then it's digital not analogue like this, so horses for courses I guess.
    Edit: My mistake, I should've watched the rest of the video! The El Cap can only control one parameter at a time with expression, rather than everything simultaneously like you can on this

    Taking a hard look at this vs. the DM-101 vs. the Brig. I've caught the analog delay bug. The Brig sounds fantastic, but it's almost its own thing, doesn't do the really gnarly 'analog' degraded tone, but the tones it does do are beautiful in their own right and its light/small as a feather. I really love the screen and design choices of the Suhr Discovery and filter controls. Basically I'm debating if I'd prefer the sound of the DM-101 (which doesn't have filter controls, no screen, and is a larger footprint) over this, as otherwise this seems great. I don't think I'd used the stereo in my setup, as at most I go wet/dry.

I know not all guitarists are created equal but from the sheer number of delay pedals Rabea has reviewed for us we have a pretty constant barometer of what one is capable of and he 100% makes pedals 1/3 of this cost sound better.

    OK, good, I saw what I already knew about clean. Now please do a video with high gain. Show us how this delay react to the Soldano SLO gain at 8 on shred from hell. I use delay for soloing only. The best delay I have found for the SLO is the Recoil by Mojohand FX. A kind of Boss Dm-2. The Way Huge Echo Puss, witch sounds awesome on high gain, especially in the loop of any kind of Rectifier, doesn't work with the Soldano SLO. So I nee to know, is this Discovery delay is able to surf on giant heavy waves of metal ? And no strat please, keep the PRS, or your black LesPaul. Please ! Do it.

    Does the expression pedal mapping save per channel?

  • @EmtonGuitars

    This looks dope… but getting the Empress or Strymon or the Eventide Space vs this? Seems way expensive just to say the pedal is actually analogue and not an algorithm.

    • @eljulogaming7515
      @eljulogaming7515 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is for musicians who wants to experiment on analogue delay only. The strymon and others are digitals.

    Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but almost all Strymon pedals allow all parameters to be mapped to heel and toe positions, AFAIK.

    • @RabeaMassaad
      @RabeaMassaad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah but not multiple parameters on an analogue delay surely? I know strymon do it but that’s 1/2 params and it’s digital? I know volante can do more though

    • @kbirridia
      @kbirridia 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RabeaMassaad Ah yeah, for analog, true. I'm not sure if Chase Bliss pedals can control multiple knobs at once, or just a chosen parameter, but you're right, if not CB then it's really cool and unique!
