Unboxing Wishlist Plants from Etsy and Ecuagenera + My potting process

Got some plants shipped in and this is my process of potting up new plants when they arrive from ecuagenera and Etsy. Sometimes they go right into Pon or LECA and other times into soil (w/ moss pole).

Love your energy!!! How does the coco chips do in moss poles? I’ve been looking for something other than sphagnum moss. I saw an article that said it pulls nutrients from plants & retains salt (?). Is there anything special you do? All of your plants look really goo!!! 😎😎😎😎😎🪴🪴🪴🪴🪴

Thanks so much! YES they have an INSANEEEE amount of salts. Before I use them I rinse them radically lol and then just in case, I flush them out whenever I do a deep watering. I got them on Amazon and they work about as well as moss. It’s just they don’t retain moisture as long for me. BUT….less of a pest issue with them for me too. Hope this helps!

Thanks!!! I may try it a moss pole & see how it goes. I’m just not a fan of fungus gnats. I know sphagnum moss is something I’d rather avoid if possible. The only plant on have on a pole is my Monstera Peru & it’s a coco coir fiber pole.

Im just gonna say that I haven't seen one good experience with Ecuagenera, everyone who mentions the plants they've ordered from them is not happy. I will not be ordering from them.. ever!!

Really? Out of ten, I’ve had 2 rot and die. I should do an update video on all of the plants I’ve gotten from them. I’m also very careful about what plants I order and where from because some don’t ship well. BUT if you don’t have good experiences, cut them off!

I also recommend you don’t repot for two weeks to reduce shock 🤍 (except for anthurium due to rot)😊

That’s what they say but I always repot right away. It usually ends up working out unless it’s an evil alocasia 😩 haha thanks!
