  • Hi plantfriends, this is PART1 of my Ecuagenera online plant shop review. I recently got my first ever import plants and I was beyond excited unboxing those indoor plants. I have added a few more aroids to my houseplant collection, so let me give you a tour of the "rare" plants i got and how they did in shipping 👀. It was scary !
    Including: Anthurium cirinoi velvet, A. arisaemoides, A. friedrichsthalii, A. Microphyllum, Lycopodium goeblii & Begonia maynensis.
    Tomorrow you'll get PART 2 including the after plant care & acclimatization process 😉.
    Enjoy ♥
    xoxo Kristina

    Ecuagenera is shipping the plants to the European shop for import reasons and afterwards they just send them out to the customer without acclimating them. In winter they add also a heat pack. I have ordered quite a few times already and Anthuriums are usually fine but some Philodendrons don’t like to travel 😂

    • @LeafyLuster
      @LeafyLuster  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ohh thats good to know, thank you for the insight Kevin. So the imports really come in with soil 🤔 I always thought they HAVE to be bare root. I should try to order some Philodendron next time, but after all the comments here, there seems to be a consens about Philodendrons traveling poorly. 😅

    • @JungleApartmentBerlin
      @JungleApartmentBerlin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, they arrive all in soil since all imported plants including the medium they arrive in need to have a phytosanitary certificate (Richtlinie 2000/29/EG Anhang V Teil B)

    • @JungleApartmentBerlin
      @JungleApartmentBerlin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the worst case you just need to reroot or chop the Philodendrons to help them survive 😅

    Okay, I'm so excited to see that you got the Anthurium Arisaemoides. That one is on my list that I am about to purchase and I was so pleased to see how large yours was. That makes me even more excited to purchase it. The Cirinoi Velvet has also been on my list - isn't she gorgeous?! I also plan to purchase the Magnificum and the Decipiens. :) Now to watch the other video for acclimating tips!

      Bridget, you have great taste, I have to say 😉! I can only recommend the arisaemoides. I even got some comments that it is a really good grower and super easy to take care of. Even thriving in living room conditions. Definetly go for it ! 😊
      I'll have to check out the decipiens, haven't heard of this one but I'm sure it's a beautiful plant as well :)

    So exciting! I started ordering from Ecuagenera (to canada) this year and I definitely went all in on my first order. I spent over 1000USD haha. But almost all of the plants have done great and given me new growth since I got them in May!

      Hi Lincoln,
      Oh my gosh...on the first order 😂😂😂 thats what i call faith! So good to hear your plants made it and are doing well. Must have been a big package arriving at your door! I have a new leaf coming in on the Anthurium arisaemoides as well and I couldn't be more thrilled to see it grow. 😊

    I just received my first order last Wednesday from them!! They're all so stunning, i got mostly anthuriums including a stunning luxurians. Hope your babies acclimated well ☺
    Also just wanted to edit and add that I love your channel

      @LeafyLuster  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lindsay, that's wonderful news, glad yours arrived well, too. I hope your new babies are acclimating nicely! Luxurians is such a cool plant, I haven't seen it in person yet but tell me, what is the leaf texture like? Is it firm? 😊
      Oh and thank you so much for the kind words. 💚

      @@LeafyLuster The babies are settling in nicely, I was really nervous about the Lux as it is so damn expensive (they've since put it down by $40) but when I got her out Oh myyy she is STUNNING. The leaves are quite thick and almost leathery?

    • @LeafyLuster
      @LeafyLuster  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's good to hear! I imagined it to be pretty firm almost like a Alocasia silver dragon or sth. :)

    I love them, have placed 3x so far in the last year. Just got an email from Ecua today that there will be a summer sale starting tomorrow 🥵 💸
    I live in Florida, Ecua sends my plants to their US greenhouse in central Fl before shipping over to me on the coast. I find it to work really efficiently and all but 1 of my plants in all my past orders arrived w/o viable leaves but I rehabbed the node fine, roots were ok.

    • @LeafyLuster
      @LeafyLuster  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's interesting, so they do this method of sending to their other shops first and then to the customers everywhere. Makes sense though 😅. The shops can import plants way more routinely than every single customer.
      As long as the stem or roots are fine, i thinks it's still acceptable to lose some leaves. But only 1 plant out of all your orders, that's actually great to hear. I will 100% place some more orders in the future as well 😇I was very pleased with my new planties. Also the selection they have is uncompareable with any plant shop here in germany, at least the ones that I know. 😁

    Tolles Video!:) ich bin mir nicht sicher ob du es vielleicht gesagt hast, aber könntest du vielleicht noch etwas zu den Einfuhrzöllen sagen? Ich würde gerne auf der Website etwas bestellen aber habe ein bisschen Sorge, dass sich die Preise beim Zoll dann noch verdoppeln

    • @LeafyLuster
      @LeafyLuster  ปีที่แล้ว

      Danke :) Also man zahlt nur die 2€ pro Pflanze. Ansonsten kam da nichts mehr an Zoll. Da Ecuagenera einen Partner hier in Deutschland hat, werden die Pflanzen zuerst dort hin importiert und dann erst weiter gesendet. Ich glaube deshalb macht es das ganze auch um einiges weniger aufwendig für uns Käufer.
      Hier ein Auszug aus meiner Rechnung:
      WICHTIGE HINWEISE: Wir exportieren jeden Monat nach Europa. Sobald die Pflanzen in Deutschland ankommen, senden wir sie mit UPS Express Saver an Ihre Adresse. Die Kosten für den Export und Import aus Ecuador nach Europa betragen 2 USD pro Pflanze und 10 USD für den Versand zu Ihnen nach Hause. Diese Kosten werden automatisch berechnet

      That's amazing news. I think the quality of the plants they send out is just soooo good. If they don't get stuck in shipping or bad weather most of the times people receive quite healthy plants 🥳.
      What kid of plants did you get? I would love to look them up :)
