    Remember the Trail Peek boys, Zac and Dane? They used to hit immense speeds like this in their videos... but not while talking about geo and leverage curves! Great edit, thanks.

    2018 GT force frame design, adjustability and swat box from the specialized Evo, Stem bar combo from Scott, split pivot rear suspension from Dave Weagle. It should be good everything that was taken from other Brands is tried and true.

    Impressive to see such a brand actually delivering something proper, because it does still stand out more as a big consumer kind of brand rather than something special.
    I had en EX 8(rootbeer/white) back in 2008 or so, and lots have happened since that time obviously.

    "Boggy" is the word I would use for previous year Treks. Especially the full floater platform.

    • @plmn93
      @plmn93 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't find the full floater boggy at all with the Reaktiv shock set to firm. Sure this one pedals better when the shock is open but this has a harsher ride and a 4-5 pound weight penalty. Is not having to use a lockout switch worth that? Maybe to some people I guess. I'm not convinced. I know Reaktiv got mixed reviews but I like how while in the "lockout" position you have firm pedaling while retaining some damping.

    Great video, mate! i have been thinking about the Fuel EXe and one question that came into my mind just now is about the motor activation speed when going through rough terrain and rocky / tech areas up hill. How does it activate? There are moments when you let the bike roll and suddenly you need the max traction to climb things. How is it efficiency on such moments? Thanks

  • @petedog9581
    @petedog9581 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Could tell it must have long chain stays by the way you were leaning the bike in those slightly uphill twists and turns. Pays off on the downs. It doesn't climb like the newer Stumpys.

    Not stocked after having a Fuel EX Gen 6 frame arrive. Headbadge not secured, paint scratches on seattube, Mino-Link bolts soecified to 8nm torque that were about to break carbide steel allan wrenches, headset not even installed... no 1-degree headset option in the nox either.
    To be honest, I feel like its an EX-E wanna be... Not a Gen 6 Fuel EX. Guess that's what happens when Trek corporate gets all worked up.
    Retuned the M/L Smoke Carbon frameset within 24-hrs and am working on getting in a Too-Fuel... knowing full and well I needed 140mm/150mm on a lightweight bike. Unfortunately, the Gen 6 wasn't close to the Gen 5 weight.

    • @plmn93
      @plmn93 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah the weight is really noticeable. EX8 in XL is 5 pounds heavier than my Gen 4. Top Fuel is more what the EX used to be, but you have to buy a new fork and shock to get it there which kills any value proposition.
