TBH I think the only reason that hasn't happened is because plot. (That and they would have a slightly harder time continuing the franchise.) Even if that actually happened, they would backtrack and do the whole "power of friends/teamwork" thing that's been basically done one time too many in most media.
I wish the Tornado Jump would return in other games. It could be incredibly helpful in near death situations where Sonic needs an extra jump to get out of trouble.
The difference between a Double Jump and a Tornado Jump is that the Tornado Jump can actually translate to 3D rather well, by giving an additional platform for additional height that can allow players to gain a bearing on their situation before moving forwards. This would be so that nothing would change about the normal Spin Jump and Jump Dash, which are more commonly used for 3D platforming, as seen in virtually every 3D main series Sonic game except Colors and Lost World. (Colors actually has it to a degree, but only when Sonic doesn't have Boost energy.)
Tornado jump also has a slight homing effect. So if the extra boost won't save you, a possible lock-on to a nearby enemy can! And Tornado hammer as Amy even added an extra jump to double the original distance. It was a pretty cool move. -
it's fine man, I just thought the idea of eggman constructing his other robots out of plastic or something less durable was funny. it'd explain how he is able to manufacture so many and why sonic is able to slam his body into them with giving himself a concussion.

I do not want to be a bad guy here, but here's the thing. I questioned if that was a legit sonic-only run when he used Z at tutorial lvl. It's AT LEAST a subject for discussion, because, theoretically, ults performes by an entire team. I am admire his skills and mechanics usage, but let's be HONEST - if there are NO WAY, even with glitches, to get past the stone doors WITHOUT USING KNUCKLES, the run is over at that point. It is not legit to switch and tell, that the run may be continued, because it stands against it's name. If it is Sonic ONLY run, then there we either need to find a way to get pats this door by using Sonic, even with glitches, or we should be honest with ourselves and commit, that run is over at that point. Regardless, that effort and attitude deserves My respect, so kudos for this dude anyway.
When it comes to the Team Blast, I personally think that as long as the control isn't ripped away from Sonic, it's a Sonic-Only run. Team Blasts are just another tool Sonic can use; note that he never switches leaders during the blast. As it goes to the stone doors, even if we need Knuckles to go through, it would be very anticlimatic to end it there. We should look through the rest of the stages and see how little we can use the other team members, even if we can't do a pure Sonic-Only run.
Really happy to see more people taking an interest in this kind of work! Finding new ways to enjoy and explore older games is a great way to expand appreciation for their... um... looser design philosophies~ There's a very niche technique that makes Rail Canyon possible. Yuuki S did a video on it a few years back... something about sliding to cancel the Light Attack's targeting but preserve its momentum? Never fully understood the trick myself. The big trick with the Light Attack in Final Fortress is positioning. You want to place yourself so that Sonic curls around the platform on his way up to attack the Egg Hammers, and then the straighter line on the way back down gets blocked by the floor. A similar trick can be used in the later parts of Mystic Mansion, and given the way you made it up to those suspended cannons in Egg Fleet it might be possible to ascend there, too. I might have a new project to look into...

This is actually a very well-made, educational video. It's cool to see communities surrounding a game like this and really pushing the envelope as far as its skill goes. Thanks for putting so much hard work into this!
So much effort...doesn't capitalize I's. Dang. You really can go far, though. Sometimes it is fun to separate characters and just go as one visually, but I never imagined you could actually make it work gameplay-wise.
In Ocean Palace you can go through the first door by rocket acceling on one of the statues and jumping on contact. For Power Plant simply charge a rocket accel,release and jump immediately to gain massive height. Not sure,but I think the Teamblast can destroy the glass.Also,there's a team Sonic specific glitch in Casino Park/Bingo highway where the light speed attack can be used as a high jump,enabling you to go over the wall,called a light speed jump Same in Rail Canyon.. For Hang Castle,no.Use the method for Power plant on the wall's corners.Careful to not be too close to the corner.Later you're forced to use Tails to open a switch on boxes Mystic Mansion...again on the corner of the room.Later you have to do a tricky tornado jump after selecting the middle switch in the skeleton room, lightspeed attack in the fan room, rocket accel into the corner of the door For the final 2 stages,they are beatable thanks to the lightspeed jump glitch Also you skipped the Bullet Train ;/
I actually knew Ocean Palace, my friend shown me when i already edited the video on this part, on Casino Park Team Blast can't break the glass and i skipped Bullet Station, because it obviously ends in part when you need to crash floor as Knuckles. By the way, thanks for the hints, but dude, i'm not skilled enough myself to do this, trust me, i actually used keyboard to play, which made it a lot difficult. If i would still had my Gamepad alive, i would do these aformentioned tricks.
To be honest, the video is really good. The quality you put in it is quite decent and I can see your skill in the game to be well above most others. But the way you're handling yourself in the comments is pretty rubbish. Criticism is something that you have to get used to when publicly displaying yourself on TH-cam, and even when you get trashed for what you've displayed (even though it's quite exceptional), you can't get over your head when it comes to it. The guide is quite decent, and I could see the enjoyment of the challenge. But don't get butthurt when others point out flaws; you've made flaws and you've admitted it. Don't drop the video idea because you're discouraged from some lowlife kids who shit on skill that they'll never be able to achieve, update the video, show the new routes for levels that were previously unbeatable (or even find newer ones), and overcome it. Don't let this control your emotions, I see potential from you to be great. Keep on pushing my man

Using only in-game bugs, you can complete the 1st stage quite easily. The others... not too sure. also 0:51, youo don't have to hold down the jump button to use Blue/Black Tornado
Look at the height of the jump after he executes the Tornado. In order to go higher, hold the Jump button right after pressing the Blue Tornado/Black Tornado Button (B in Xbox and Gamecube). It increases your jump height tremendously. My brother and I have also been using this trick since we first got the game.
