My grandma used a peach pitter but she made lye soap and had no sent but she used it for everything from dish soap to laundry soap hand soap, it was all processed according to what she was using it for but the bar soap that went in the bathroom she took the edge off with the peach pitter tool , to let you know how many years ago this was I’m now 69 and I have memory of her and soap from around age 5 , I really wish I lived closer to her especially when I was younger adult and would have learned all her gardening tricks and quilting techniques , nothing she cooked came from a store bought can or box she grew an acre garden year round and raised a hog and a calf for there meat she had chickens and one old milk cow . She was definitely full of knowledge and made all her own medicine. She was native Indian and my grandfather immigrated from Germany when he was very young . I love your soap videos !

For the super even and professional/framed look even with as much soap as it removes, I would use the soap box. Those looks so NICE!!

Thanks for the shout out :)
I have always been curious about the soap cutting boxes but think I'll stay with my precious, the popsicle stick haha
I'm so happy you didn't hate it LOL It's different but works.

I started using the veggie peeler and liked it. but switched to the box because it looks great, but it does take a lot off. I like the act of doing it with the peeler more though. I find it relaxing.

I have the box but I keep using the peeler, it's my favorite tool 💖 Thanks a lot for sharing those different techniques 💕

When i want a angle i use the beveler. But when i just want to plain the edge i take the metal loop for clay working. Also works well when you want to bevel edges on round soaps

I loved this video, and have switched from the vegetable peeler to the popsicle stick. I have a heavy hand, and always took too much off, and unevenly. Popsicle stick (I actually use a tongue depressor) has given me much lighter, more even corners.

I like to keep the sharp edges, so I leave my soap to cure just as is. Then after the cure if necessary I use my fingernail to even out the edges, but not the way shown in the video, but the other way around, so the soap gets on top of my nail and not underneath it. But the fingernail method needs some tlc and can‘t be rushed. When I‘m in a hurry I use the vegetable peeler. After the cure it only removes a tiny bit of soap, the edges stay kinda sharp, but are also a tiny bit beveled. Best of both worlds.

Loved the box tool look. I use a veggie peeler but have not perfected how to get consistent results.

I didn’t think of the veggie peeler. I like the way it looks. I tried a potato peeler before but it took off too much. I also liked the beveler but more to showcase the design of some soaps
