After World War II, two types of people survived the ordeal: good people and selfish people. If we were to consider which group had higher survival rates, most people might assume it was the selfish individuals. This belief is why in Singapore, we have terms like "kiasu," "kiasi," "thumsim," and "buay paiseh," which describe people who exhibit these selfish traits. These behaviors could be seen as traits passed down from those selfish survivors. It might be worth reflecting on your own behaviour to see if you possess any of this DNA. Speaking Singlish is somewhat similar to seeing a mainland Chinese tourist climbing up a sakura tree to take a selfie-both might stem from a similar cultural mindset or reason.
My team and I did a prog last National Day, we performed the Singapore legends. Thats when I realised that kids do not know who Sang Nila Utama is. When asked who founded Singapore, they said Raffles. Even the PRs.

If I didn’t watch this show, I don’t even know sang nila is removed from history and children’s day has changed to first Friday of October.😓
