The sounds of skateboarding are amazing!!! all the sounds, wheels rolling, the sound of the pop and the board landing for an ollie, wheels rolling fast over cracks, the sound of a wood ramp... I could go on and on. I could probably use it help me fall asleep at night...
Man, this stuff is sooo motivating, but then it's so sad we don't have a decent skatepark around. Your movement looks better every time. Keep on being cool!
@@Steves_SkateXplosion 1 hour drives in different direction and each has 1 or 2 feature that fits my beginner older dude skills. Living in the US must be a blessing in this sens. @rob3bb Oh man I am totally with you. I can do below 40 only if it’s super still with no breeze. I’m going to have that for the next 3 days so I’ll be bundled up!
Ever think about building a mini ramp in your garage or basement? I have neither one of the two, but man - that would be a nice way to beat the cold weather.
I’ve definitely thought about that every day since I started skating. But I gotta build one that’s 6 feet on each side and there’s not room for that yet. But once I move to a warm climate that’s the first thing going up in my back yard!
There is definitely something satisfying about the noise a skateboard makes I agree with you there. You're crazy bro it's so cold in Indy right now lol I need to hit up major taylor sometime this winter too 😃
I'm up in Canada and just ordered a snow skate. Haven't tried one yet but looking forward to it! Of course we likely get a lot more snow than you. You could also consider a ski/snowboard helmet if you plan to skate deep into winter. They have wind protection over the ears and a bit more insulation
@@Steves_SkateXplosion I wish I could say that, but I did start running again and my son and I skated a nearby DIY park last week. I was grinding a low rail there and that always trashes it, but in a different way. All in all I think it was a good call.
Nice! I found board “ real estate “ very noticeable when you start locking in and grinding. Anything from 9.125- 10. I do occasionally get on my 9.75 popsicle… just for a bit of a change.
@@Steves_SkateXplosion southwest Georgia, yea it's been low 30's at night and high 50's daytime...but I'm loving it, it's such a relief from heat and high humidity...mostly the high humidity kills me more than the heat...
I have my Gator Neck from the Army that thing is amazing I still have it and I was discharged in 2006 that's how well it works, anyway cold weather kills me, at 54 and massive injuries from the Army I can't live in the cold had to move back to Cali from Iowa because of the winters other than that it was beautiful just too cold. AND totally with you man, it is the best exercise and yeah, I don't rest either and often forget to fricken breath, that's why you hear me always breathing heavy its fricken hilarious I am going to say you do 100% better than me I can't hear you breathing heavy at all, and in the cold YOU THE MAN!!!
I tell you man, I can handle Indiana some days but when it’s been cloudy and gray for weeks on end, it’s just the worst. And then the bitter chill in this wind. How long have you been out west?
@@Steves_SkateXplosion I have been out here for 10 years now. I was in the Army so I lived in 10 different states to include Alaska, very beautiful but highly depressing in the winter dark for like 9 months.
@ Lived in Chandler Arizona for about 6 years when I was 19 it was cool not the weather but Phoenix is a nice city hot in the summer around 110 but that’s only for a couple months then the weather is nice especially in the winter. You can definitely skate year round! Visited New Mexico yearly with my uncle Albuquerque for Chili Peppers and Hot Air Balloon both great places can’t go wrong!
Man, I swore you lived in Colorado for the longest time. I finally used the Utube on a computer and found out there were comments! I like the Utube on the tv cause it’s bigger but no comments! I re-started skateboarding at 51 after a umm. Math. One sec. 33 year break. I am totally with you Dude. Best exercise ever! And now I feel like my insurance is actually like worth it. If you ever come to Northern Colorado give me a holler so we can Skate!
@Steves_SkateXplosion na, the nitrile Grease Monkey one's that I use have a texture pattern. It's just like an extra layer of skin but an excellent moisture barrier 😀
I’m super close to doing that actually. I’ve been thinking about it forever but now that I’m doing Fakie rocks it seems like it’s right around the corner. Next video perhaps?
@Steves_SkateXplosion Nope, never have! I tried snowboarding once and thought I’d be a natural… Boy, was I wrong! Much different from skating. Same with surfing. Only tried it once, couldn’t stand up. Ha!
@Skinnyriver Transition is pretty bizarre isn’t it? And yet with enough reps I think you’ll get addicted to it. The feeling of the pumps and swoops once you’re more comfortable are just glorious.
Mann u were getting into some nice 5050 grinds on those last feeble attempts 🔥💕👏👍
PS- loved the axle stall roll in grinds too
That’s such a sketchy place because it’s a spine and I’m afraid to fall over the other side.

Oh yes like skating ASMR.
Love the sound of skateboards and do your deep squats daily. So inspiring ❤

Thanks a bunch! How come they don’t have any skateparks for you there? Gotta drive a ways I assume?

I agree I love the sound of the wheels. I went to skate on last Saturday it was 21' I went back to bed. I think I may done till next year
Oh man! Are you saying you might be done skating till March?
@Steves_SkateXplosion no 😮 I'm gonna to limit my skating to nothing below 30' degrees 🥶I'll probably skate this weekend looking at the forecast

Love the sound of skating, yup.
Mechanics gloves work pretty well They are thin and pretty tough or look towards the MTB world for thin and warm gloves
Definitely need pigskin or they won't last.

That’s a good idea on the helmet. Appreciation! 👊
Dude, those are looking so smooth now. Soon you'll be popping those off that 6 foot wall and on up higher! Keep it going, and stay warm.
Thanks man. Are you healing up nicely now that skateboarding isn’t killing your knee?

I like getting bundled up with plush clothing in winter because when I slam it's so much extra padding...
Yeah Steve kudos for getting out in the cold!!! Looking good man!!
It’s all about the layers!! 😆👊
-4 the other day I was skating here in Scotland. Had to break the ice off the puddles for a roll in. Keep shredding.
Are you kidding me? That makes my weather seem balmy in comparison.

The sun is always shining above the clouds… keep ur mind up there also, bro.
Appreciation dude. Taking vitamin D is helping me too as my wife tells me the folks in the Midwest likely have a deficiency throughout winter. ❄️
you're FREAKIN AWESOME MAN , KEEP MAKING SKATE VIDEOS🖖

Crushing it bro.🤙🤙

Here in the pnw I wear disposable mechanics gloves and you would be amazed at how warm they keep your fingers!

Can you roll right back in from the deck after a rock out yet? Keep up the great vids!

Yeah, dude! Cold weather skating is the best! Have you ever tried toe warmers? Only part of cold skating I hate is not feeling my feet.
I think I used toe warmers back in the day. Meaning the time I tried skiing. You ever been skiing man?
@Steves_SkateXplosion Nope, never have! I tried snowboarding once and thought I’d be a natural… Boy, was I wrong! Much different from skating. Same with surfing. Only tried it once, couldn’t stand up. Ha!
I like the noise that sometimes phases as the sound echoes everywhere… like a jet engine. Anyhow… reps reps reps!
I totally love that too. The powerful swooshing soundscapes is like a symphony isn’t it?
practising nose manuals and manuals helps getting used to the feeling of lifting the nose and tail more on your rocks
That’s a great idea. I’ve barely done any manuals so far, but I can totally see that helping. Appreciate the tips.
0:18 I wear work gloves when I skate cold weathers. Don't use those rubbery grippy work gloves, you will bend your fingers cause they won't slide!
I wear gloves all year long.
I’m struggling activating my swoop. Any pointers?
How long have you been skating?
@ loving the vids. I’m 40, got a longboard about 1 yr ago and just pushed around, but got my first street board a month ago!!
Awesome. Do you have skateparks nearby with transition you can practice on?
@ the city just built a park! Super excited. Has a mini ramp, 3’ and a 5’ quarter. Been too scared to do much on them 😂
@Skinnyriver Transition is pretty bizarre isn’t it? And yet with enough reps I think you’ll get addicted to it. The feeling of the pumps and swoops once you’re more comfortable are just glorious.
Had the chance to use Freezbles and didn't...
That's Indiana for you. 60 degrees one day, 30 degrees the next.
Dude the worst is the wind. You with me?
next stop some full-on rolling 50/50s ✊
Getting close! 👊
dude, wait for me! i'm not there yet!
Where are we headed? Maybe ice fishing? 🎣
I just skate for exercise. 😅 I honestly skate better than I walk.
Same here lately.
“Extreme Feeble” for the Win! That one looked Sick! I’m skating tomorrow, hopefully I’ll get that 4ft pocket grind I’ve been after. 🎉🛹
A pocket grind? I don’t know what that is. Talk to me dude.
A pocket is just a hip new word for corner, so grinding around a corner / pocket. Update: I hit the coping a couple times but didn’t pull it off. 😂🤣
