My thoughts exactly. This sport looks very prone to injury without proper techniques. An injury can end an athlete's career very easily. These atheletes need more support from the country.
safe fall are for the weak and faint hearted.
You use your hand to soften your fall. To experienced players, this become a reflex, they don't have to think about it at all, they automatically do this.

A bit late but "SIPA" and "SEPAK TAKRAW" are way different sports.. SEPAK TAKRAW is the sport shown in this video while SIPA is a bit different it uses "Tingga" instead of a ball.. common mistake ng mga Pilipino talaga na akala nila yan yung pambansang laro nuon .. HAHAHAHA .. ung SIPA d sport yun .. laro lng po .. while ung SEPAK takraw is yan yung sport na yan which originated at Malaysia ata nakalimutan ko hahahaa
I have an uncle and he used to be a famous sipak takraw player. There was one time that I still couldn't forget. He did a back flip and kicked the ball midair so perfectly and I was just in awe watching him. I asked him about it later and he said that lots of people can do that but who cares my uncle is cool.

Damn, just watching this because I lost a match during my PE. As a girl, it's extremely hard sport. My feet sore when my friend kept throwing the ball at me for me to practice my kick. I...only managed to kick it over the net 7 times out of thirty... My Bidayuh friend played it like a champ tho. As chinese-malaysian, we rarely play this during our free time and mostly learned sepak takraw in middle school and highschool. The pros are the malays and the natives🤣
This sport needs more coverage! I only stumbled upon it when I was at a pub in Malaysia last year. It looks so cool and sooo fun!
