I had the pleasure of seeing them live twice. My favorite BOC song and always will be. The beginning of Stephen King's "The Stand" (1994 and best version) features this at the beginning. Some folks back when this was on the radio every day thought it was encouraging suicide but deep down it's a love song. Two is one. This thing still gets a ton of radio play on "Classic Rock"😎 Another band with this kind of vibe and depth you need to check out, if you haven't already is Kansas.
Everyone has mentioned SNL skit, but I remember this more fondly in the Stephen King book and Mini-series The Stand. It was a super long book, I read when I was a teenager. Plot revolved around a superflu that killed 99% of the global population. Of course it is totally irrelevant in this day and age.
Reischa Parker, I just rewatched the 1994 miniseries a couple of days ago. It’s on TH-cam-all four episodes in a single video-but the audio goes dead when this song plays, presumably because of the copyright. I’m really looking forward to the remake. King says that he wrote a completely different ending.
This song always scared me as a kid at the bridge, which makes sense, but I also loved it. Then I heard Godzilla and Burning for you and I just played Mario World to their music with the game muted at 11 years old. Man, I flew through that game after that
I really like your reactions so far more than anyone else. Try some from the girl band called Heart. They we're swesome. Also from Fleetwood Mac. Thanks!
Blue Oyster Cult is one of the most underrated rock groups of all time. They were very innovative, made tons of hits, had some great musicians in the group, and are still playing.
Watch the SNL skit that has this song and they say “more cowbell”. Ever since I saw that skit, I can never hear this song without thinking of that skit. Lol
This song is a classic rock radio mainstay. Turn on any classic rock station in the country and you're probably gonna hear this song at some point during the day, along with Lynyrd Skynyrd "Sweet Home Alabama" or "Freebird", Eagles "Hotel California" and Led Zeppelin "Stairway to Heaven".
The 1st time I heard this song in a record store it was love at 1st hearing. It's deep and dark with that compulsive guitar line. Sadly I never heard anything else by the band half as good.
Aaaahh the old days. Another 70's banger. I like some modern music, but the old days, were great, and remember, they didn't have any of the technology of today.
Another great song from a decade where groups and musicians created great songs with good lyrics, great instruments players and good singers. Should I say those songs are timeless and that is why they are called: "classics". I miss that time. A time where pure talent was needed to create good music.
If you only hear cowbell in your left ear and not in your right ear, then you need more cowbell. Plain and simple. GUESS WHAT? I GOT A FEVER. AND THE ONLY PRESCRIPTION... IS MORE COWBELL! I GOTTA HAVE MORE COWBELL... BABY.

Hello. Thank you for your many reactions to songs. This is my number one song. I noticed that you did listen to Alan Parsons Project but there is another album they did that is unlike anything you have ever heard. One man posted in comments on youtube with the entire album, "This record, more than any other, is the reason that I became a recording engineer." That says a lot. The album is Tales of Mystery and Imagination. It is about Edgar Alan Poe's tales and they do some fantastic work on it! The second half is more instrumental but worth listening to if you understand the stories. You have to start with A Dream within a Dream and go through The Raven. They are the first two songs but the first is more of an intro to The Raven. Can't wait to see your reaction to this one! I was introduced to this in 5th grade by my English teacher. I wish I could remember her name to thank her! (If you have to choose only one make it The Raven.)
Blue Oyster Cult, I seen these Guys 6 XM's over the years first in 1973 last in 1997 . Never disappointed. Eric Blume lead singer on most songs. Buck Dharma on lead Guitar. Great reaction of Don't Fear The Reaper.... ✌
This song is not about music it's about two lyrics and the message some people don't think there's a way out unless they take their own life and it's very sad
This one s on the tape loop at my doctors . Sitting with all the old folk . they're waiting for the flu jab . All a can hear is "Don't Fear The Reaper" . Stupid doctor didn't get the idea that it may be inappropriate . LOL

It's fun to hear the old songs through fresh eyes. And...MORE COWBELL!
Next Blue Oyster Cult song should be: "Burning for You". Damned autocorrect.
