- India, Delhi, Paharganj. I have always heard that India head massages are something that I need to experience, so when I saw a local massage salon, I could not pass up the chance
The massage was a mix of weird and wonderful and the technique was "out there" to stay the least - from clicking my fingers, doing shoulder dislocation manoeuvres to sticking his finger in my ear! (what on earth is that about! hahaha 🤣)
Unfortunately, as fun as the massage experience was, I left the salon with a sour taste in my mouth (and that's not because I ate the lotion), but because they overcharged for the massage!
Regardless, it was a fun experience and one to remember (and not repeat) for sure!

It's good that this foreigner knew he was being scammed and stood up to the guy. It's also good to see that the other guy told him to charge correctly. Like others have mentioned in the comments, foreigners can ask a local person to help them if they feel the vendor is overcharging.

Depends on shop some do it for 20 some for 50 some 100 some for 500 and some for 2k+
But judging on the place you have been they shouldn't charge more than 200 rupees

Should be 150 rupees maximum... otherwise 100 rupees is the fixed rate for head massage all over India!! In 1500 rupees, you could get a proper body massage,with a spa, that also in a good parlour
Just do one thing when you go to buy something or paying for any service before that fix the price by negotiations. And try to ask local for true price.

You get a complete head to hip massage within rupees 100 at any small to medium scale barber's shop in India. I take a complete head to waist massage here in Delhi at 50 rupees. Sometimes you just need to say, "koi na bhaiya, ab apse kam nhi hoga yoh toh kya kar sakte hai.. accha chalta hoon". See the magic then if there is any left in him😂

Yeah he said he's only been there 2 weeks there's gonna be a lot more scams if he's not asking price first and holding them to it. I wish him nothing but the best but the scams are a real thing and not asking first and then confronting like you said this much is a huge problem. Because they are stubborn and will just stand there raising their voice saying things you don't understand demanding the overpriced amount(not always but sometimes).
