Hopefully they've prepped with my Victor Combo and Tips Guide on my channel, especially Part 4: The Great Geldenheim 3 video! Get out there my fellow Darkstalkers and get the hype out!
This is gonna be the second fighting game that I'm going to practice seriously. I started 3 months ago with KoF 98/2002 on Fightcade and got my ass handed to me for 90% of the matches. Not gonna lie, I expect a similar situation with this game, but I just looooooove the characters and animations of the Darkstalkers franchise.
same - everything from the franchise is so alien to me but i just owe it to the iconic character designs and aesthetic of the game i've been fascinated by for decades!
This has a LOT of quality going into it. How you've gone under the radar until now is unknown to me. I think I've seen you on the Discord as well, thanks for the great guide! I'll be sharing this with some people I know!
Hey thanks for showing off some of my footage at the end when you talked about Vampire Hunter, that was awesome! This was a very informative and well done video! Can tell you put a lot of thought and time into this!
AWESOME video , you have the potential to grow to a big FGC channel, super informative and very well edited. Best video i´ve found on this subject and i hope this quality gets the praise it deserves. Instant fan, thanks a lot dude.
Hope you keep making Vsav videos man. Your love for the game shows and you have a fun personality for it. Every time I come back to this to refresh on some of the mechanics I'm overcome with the urge to go practice my Lei Lei.
Wow man... love it. So happy to see you not only post a new vid, but a deep vid. Love ya my fellow Darkstalker buddy... keep bangin' it out my friend! One last note, Dark Gallon is mostly cosmetically different, but he does actually have a bit less health points, though I believe it's only 15 less. And tech rolls can be controlled by distance too, not just direction, by using different strength attack buttons.
@@AmeriKameVictor It's not hit points, because no one has lower HP in VSav (everyone has 144 HP, and a different defense modifier). The difference is that Dark Wolf's damage proration at low life kicks in later than regular Wolf, making him worse (but so inconsequentially worse that it's not worth worrying about). This was confirmed on the SRK forums a long time ago by one of the really old VSav scientists named Xenozip, but I'm sure that post has been long lost to time. If you wanna know some exact values, I'm sure Kyle W can hook you up with that.
@@vstalbain Ah! Thanks for the clarification, and yes I agree that the damage difference is pretty much inconsequential. The modifier explanation makes sense, as I've tested Wolf's damage received against a full life bar bat, and it seemed as though he had about 10 to 15 less HP depending on his opponent when low in life. I thought I read spmewhere in the past too that HPs were equall but damage modifiers being varied between characters. So the best I could come up with was that it was though Dark Wolf had 10 to 15 less HP when low. Again. thanks for the clarification and reminder for others to see. Hopefully, VSav will prove to be popular for the new upcoming release, though it's pretty safe to assume most people outside of Japan will purchase it for its other games. We'll be lucky if we can get a good 6 months of regular competition daily before it dies out like Resurrection did.
Keen on hearing more about them balance changes. Also I'm really surprised that to this day there seems to not be a romhack that just adds Pyron, Huitzil and Donovan in, since technically this isn't being run on CPS2 boards any more anyway
Definitely interested in seeing that Sav2/Hunter 2 video. I've been playing the Fighting Collection and very much enjoying VSav, but I'm not very good yet
thanks for the vid. found out about this franchise through marvel vs capcom 3, became a big fan of morrigan and felicia, next thing I know im trying to main them in 2 separate games at the same time lol
i suck at fighting games in general but i looove darkstalkers (especially vsav) so if i want to enjoy myself a little and not get my ass whipped in arcade mode i gotta learn a thing or two at least... thanks for the vid!
Very nice video. I only really got to play the lousy PS1 port of Savior years ago, so I'm sorta rediscovering this thing now. Hopefully the collection will get more people into playing Savior 2 and Hunter 2 because the split roster has always been an annoyance of mine (and I like Hunter 2 for restoring the old, character specific songs). I still think the collection should have included the PS2 version (Vampire Collection) as an AIO solution for those that would prefer to have a full roster without dancing around different games.
really sick video! only feedback would be, if you can, to record at 60fps so recoverable life shows up properly when you're demonstrating the game. this is a super pedantic point and almost no one would notice but it's the only thing i think that would be an easy fix that directly improves the video.
1) Es Moves with which 2 buttons exactly? 2) In "Guard Cancel" section, is "623" a DP or Reverse DP or something else? And how do u do either one while blocking? 3) I'd probably need an entire separate video just explaining Links & how they differ from Chains, but maybe that's just me. BTW great video!
Yeah but in a different way. I was way too ambitious and wanted to make this giant video with voice guests from a ton of pro players. Predictably that fell through, but I wanna do smaller 5-10 minute character guides. I got a few in the lab but my work flow is terrible lmao
I know this video is years-old but is the Capcom Fighting Collection version different from the Fightcade version? I notice some of the combos and stuff I find don't seem to work on CFC version. I learned about Fightcade afterward and when I try them on Fightcade they come out like nothing.
I see people in tourneys and commentators constantly warning to turn off dark force before the timer runs out. I don’t understand, why should people turn off dark force before the timer runs out? Is there some kind of benefit to turning it off early or some kind of penalty for leaving it on till the timer runs out? Yes.

Yeah I've got an awful work flow. Rest assured, I'm still gonna do it. Though the format will be different, probably smaller 5-10 min videos instead of one big one.

Not a ps4, not the game, etc., so I picked it all up at my local Gamestop. Everything is still in its packaging unopened. Should I return everything for a full refund and just pick up the PC copy? I put about 500 bucks into the ps4, game, and accessories. I wouldn't play anything else on the ps4 other than the new collection. The way I saw it was that the scene will probably dry up within 6 months to a year, and then I'm left with needing Fightcade on my PC. Seems like I may as well just return everything for a fat refund and just spend 40 bucks on the PC version, and then upgrade to Fightcade when the PC version of the collection dries up online. What do you think? Take your experiences in the FGC and where competition plays regularly and help me decide my friend. I could use your experienced opinion. Thanks!
