    Hi Chris,
    Wonder why the axle was so hard to remove? I recall going through my 71 that one of the stanchions was not straight, causing a similar issue. I lowered mine ( I am not too tall) so I had new stanchions made. No issues going back together. I noticed the issue when I stood back away from the bike and noticed the two fork assemblies were not parallel to one another.

      Thanks for that. I thought that it was tight simply because it had been standing for so long, but on reflection it may well be a problem with the stanchions. I'll defo check them. 👍
