wow this one is very good. very good vibe ....people in africa should stop war and listen to some soul touching drums and show brotherhood...i truly beleive that music has some magical power.
I think it's always amazing to see something like this. As he plays, you can just see his energy rising as the tempo increases and his smile widens. It's absolutely lovely.
Baba Alatunji, is awesome, his Drums of Passion album is a classic, Odunday , Jingo, Run Away He showed Afro -Americans that Africa Drumming is a culture in 1959 , when his album came out. I saw him perform at the Univ. Of Penn , one of his band played the Kora, simply beautiful! R.I.P BABA
Look at my video list there is another one called "babatunde djembe performance" Santana's Jingo Lo Ba came from him. Try and get his CD "drums of passion" look on amazon for it.
I notice that you don't have tags for this under Babatunde Olatunji, makes it more difficult to find if you're looking for Baba. Can you add that tag to the video, please? I love Baba. I was lucky to get a workshop with him 10 years ago before he died. Derbeno, how did you get videos of him? Looks like he was toward the end. When where they taken?

This man brought African drums to America. Ache Baba! A true genius.
Babatunde Olatunje was a fantastic man. We brought him to Central Connecticut State University back in 1991. It was a magical experience.
