The Civic Arena in Pittsburgh PA. They were great. Echo and the Bunnymen were awesome. Unfortunately New Order was the headliner and they were awful. Love their music but the stage production was lacking.
On certain songs, they also have a bit of goth about them. Gene Loves Jezebel's track "Sweetest Thing" has a similar vibe as "Charlotte Sometimes", an early gothic tune by The Cure.
You're my guilty secret, not just a memory You're all I ever wanted, and you belong to me Listen now my angel, my love for you can't stop Though we've come to distances, love must surely spark Maybe she just cannot see me Maybe she just cannot feel They say a little bit of heartache, a little bit of heartache never hurt anyone How come I'm crying over you? If a little bit of heartache, a little bit of heartache never hurt anyone How come I'm crying over you? Your beauty has spoken, with eyes that shine My resistance crumbles, I stumble, I fall Did I ever fail you, did I lose your confidence? To me you are remarkable, what more can I say? Maybe she just cannot see me Maybe she just cannot feel They say a little bit of heartache, little bit of heartache never hurt anyone How come I'm crying over you? If a little bit of heartache, a little bit of heartache never hurt anyone How come I'm crying over you? Talk, talk, talk A little bit of heartache, little bit of heartache never hurt anyone
For all the attention the two main guys got (the Aston brothers), what really gave this band their musical kick and punch was the guitar player, bass player, and drummer. The backing music is solid on nearly every track by these guys I've heard... Heartache, Motion of Love, Over The Rooftops, Desire, it's all there.
Seen this band in local Providence club one of the most played LP of that year the songs very much like cure, smiths, siouxsie Echo and bunny men. Love those years and miss them....
Oh wow. When it came out, I was 3 years out of college. It was called New Wave back then. Along with Echo, Cure, Bauhaus. Fad Gadget, XTC. Yup, just great music. Love sitting here at 56 and sharing it with my son. Hes 25
The 80's were a very different time, about standing out not fitting in,where today you would go to hell for wearing the wrong trainers or hoodie. It was a different mindset , it was about raw talent and image and not just about talking over other artists material and face it if you took the original hook away from mush you would be left with ...nothing..I knew the band really well and toured with them, mike and jay, really nice guys and their music still stands the test of time.
I gotta say, that's the only song I know from them when I saw the video, back in the day, and I REALLY LIKE THIS SONG, so much in almost "jealous"! 80's rock IS THE BEST
down the rabbit hole w/this band 3-days ...forgot about em since the club daze (desire) imo ~ very original ..they're chasing the music like zepplin ...creative and the bass lines in all their songs are so good! the looks are the looks and the music is blind'
Their house of dolls album great from begining to end ,Desire ,heartache and one more song kind of goes "excuse me l like you a lot" great stuff great looking lads.
+flor cardenas Except that album was called Discover, and preceded House of Dolls, which was not even half as good, thus causing the beginning of the end.
Ahhh...love these beautiful brothers & their music & style! I'd been looking for this song for a long time...but i had the lyrics totally wrong...i thought they were saying "little red ponies never hurt anyone"..lol..but i was pretty young when this song came out & no one is perfect! ;-) I hate getting lyrics wrong...it makes me feel so stupid...especially when i've had them wrong for 20+ years!!! Shame on me!!!
Luna party never hurt anyone! Ahh the lost connection between Duran Duran and the glam rock era! These boys came from Cornelly near Porthcawl, South Wales...unfortunately nothing since then! ! Great days............im off to paint my nails.
When rock n roll was made by men who looked and acted like rock stars. Songs were catchy, simple, fun, and not political. Listen to this song on Friday or Saturday night through good speakers.
You can tell the difference in timbre between Michael and Jay's voices if you listen. Michael's seems to my ears to have a rougher edge and Jay tends to be more trebly. I like them both. This is Michael singing lead, no doubt. That's Jay on the prechorus, just like it looks. I saw them live enough times to know.
No era is perfect but one can take a lil from each era! And maybe eventually we come close to where we should be...? IDK for sure but it seems very clear to me!

1987 triple bill- Gene loves Jezebel, New Order and Echo & the Bunnymen
Saw that concert at "The Pier" in NYC
Me too. Plus I think I saw them another time too.
Greek Theater Berkley California was a excellent time for sure 🔥❤🔥
I was at that show at The PIer! Came up from Virginia to go.
The Civic Arena in Pittsburgh PA.
They were great. Echo and the Bunnymen were awesome. Unfortunately New Order was the headliner and they were awful. Love their music but the stage production was lacking.
What a unique band with an image somewhere between sleaze, glam and new wave. I love the fusion of styles going on here!
On certain songs, they also have a bit of goth about them. Gene Loves Jezebel's track "Sweetest Thing" has a similar vibe as "Charlotte Sometimes", an early gothic tune by The Cure.
No labels needed. It's not goth, new wave, glam or any other dopey name. It's just great music. Period. Love these guys!
it is great music, but it is also new wave, glam and post punk...
This lit !!🔥🔥🔥✊
I always enjoyed music being labelled.
first heard them from the start. whatever it’s called, they still sound good.
they were totally their own thing & I loved them so much!
Their music helped my delicate heart when I was in a rebellious period and had a lot of worries.
Aston brothers, great composers & great performers too..!!
Thank you for posting- Happy New Year!
I am really surprised that this band didn't find me long time ago...It really is its own thing. Very unique and timeless music.
You right, how I miss this band in the 80's
Definitely an underrated group.
*Great frontman! This band is very catchy, and very enchanting!*
Roberto Carlos Hernandez Moran Right!!

Saw them many times once with New Order and Echo at the Fourm in Inglewood, now they can’t stand each other and both tour separately as GLJ
I was also at that Forum show!

now yur awakened!
But you didn't forget their hairdo.
Man what memories songs like this bring back. I MISS the 80's wave scene.
Perfect blend between "Simple Minds" and "The Cult" !
Such a great song
Still have the album and EP of this. Surprised they weren't bigger. Oh well great song from the day.
PERFECTION! The perfect blend of pop, rock and goth... I have always found this song hypnotic and sensual.
Glam/Goth extraordinaires...The brothers just made Magic together.

Is it just me, or is the singer the male Princess Diana? Great band, great song, great album.

Great song and great video! Great group too who should have had more success. Thanks for posting!

80's rock IS THE BEST
One of my all time fave bands , awesome!
Maybe it's just me but this song is eerie ghostly and sexy at the same time....
Their early music was Classic! Such a shame they weren't bigger with the masses. This song still gives me chills, some 25 years later. AMAZING
This isn't early.
This is my favorite song by them. Was a big hit on Live 105!
I like this one also but Desire is my #1
I saw them in concert at Irvin meadows with Echo and the Bunnymen cool concert
I think I was there, too. I loved it. I thought GLJ was the best.
They look and sound good together. Hope they'll reunite soon. I love the 80's!!
That will most likely never happen. They each have their own version of GLJ. Just say Jay's GLJ with Peter and James a few weekends ago.
Pretty boys in makeup 💄
down the rabbit hole w/this band 3-days ...forgot about em since the club daze (desire) imo ~ very original ..they're chasing the music like zepplin ...creative and the bass lines in all their songs are so good! the looks are the looks and the music is blind'
I remember this and how it did not become a mainstream hit , I don't know.
