Personally I'd keep the metal flowers as they are and keep them indoors probably in front of a large mirror to reflect back. Think they'd spoil outside with all the rain we've been having. They're beautiful.

Hey Iwan, love a cheeky mid week vid. If you want to clean up your enamel bread bin you can colour match with nail varnish to do touch ups if you don’t want that vintage look. The garden lighting looked magical.

I saw a handmade aluminum flower with a stem on Etsy and that single flower was priced at $42! I wouldn’t put them out in the roof garden as I think they would get ruined. I don’t have a suggestion as to what to do with them… I only have a suggestion what not to do with them! Congratulations on having your show nominated for an award. Fingers crossed!

Arrh Mr C, your roof garden look lovely in the day and at night with your new lights, i think the metal flowers and leafy foliage would also look grat in your roof garden you could maybe protect them with a weather protector...or maybe weathered they,d just look more interesting...you could set in concrete in a plant pot or simle get a terricotta garden vessel and put little lights through the metal..flowers and leaves or maybe if you wanted to keep in door s in a tall to medium size vase...or a aged terracotta pot in same sort style of neptune pots....good look with tv awards....i vote for you all at sort your life out love that programme ❤🎉 📺

The roof top garden is looking lovely and now you,ll have all the light ..Ohhhh about the wild strawberries when mum and dad and I lived in old house at the bottom of the Quantock Hills in Somerset for 2 years in early 70,s. Dad was English and came home from Australia too England too see his mum and family . My beautiful Nan . Just up the road.the lane on the side of the imbankment was wild strawberries and hazel nut trees we would pick. Well been back in Australia a long time now and I love my garden and veggie patch areas .A dear friend Patsy has wild strawberry plants in her garden, she says they grow like weeds ,and was very happy too dig me out a lot of plants . All planted through my gardens ..come on weeds. I,m sooòo happy . To me its a taste of England and beautiful memories .

Hello Mr C. An idea for the metal leaves. Spray them gold for use with winter/ autumn decor. They'll look lovely with some winter greenery and berries. If you are putting any outside, i'd suggest spraying with clear varnish so they don't rust.
We've just got a cat. What characters they are and bring us so much joy. We can't help spoiling them can we ? 😊

I would paint a suitably sized plain canvas black and then glue those metal flowers on it like an arrangement. Hang it on a wall somewhere and hey, its a bespoke piece of wall art, which will take hardly any time at all!

I put my bread in the freezer. Last much longer. I use my bread tin to store laundry powder ( still in the bag), but the whole top cut. Large laundry powder that almost full the whole bread tin. Unless the container burps when you close it, it's not airtight. Cake tin is good to hold cake for the day. After that it wont stay fresh. Tupperware is fabulous and airtight. Not a fan of the clear plastic food storage containers as they are not airtight. Like Sistema storage containers. Bread bin looks like it could store quite abit. Like unopened rice, flour, sugar etc. Tea and coffee unopened packs. With the tin flowers, separate them, but them in a wooden picture frame with no backing or glass. Use it as artwork for outside. Suspend the flower with fishing line or thin wire also good.

I think the metal foliage and flowers would make a unique wreath. You might want to spray a clear coat on the bottom of the tins to prevent rust from getting on your shelves or countertop. For non- Brits please define table top sale.

    • @MrCarrington
      @MrCarrington  ปีที่แล้ว +1

A table top sale is typically held in a village hall / church hall and people sell things from table tops, often to raise money for the church or village hall.

Loved this Vlog thank you. Cake tin and bread bin, both fab. I did notice the art on the wall, very cool. As for the metal flowers, if put outside, they may go rusty which I think would look rather cool! or spray gold for Christmas decor perhaps? I'm with you, 50p is very exciting for sponges and the brown wrapping paper too! Just recently put lots of solar lights up in my garden a few actually came from One Below full price, and look great, as does your roof garden. Good to see Mittens and Pumpkin, they are so sweet and are grey tabbies same as our cat Mr Mush! (pronounced as in Bush, true London style!) Thanks again, always a pleasure to see whats going on in the Mr C world! I will vote by the way and good luck for you and the team x

The metal flowers definitely would be great on the roof garden together ( when the wind catches them theyll make a beautiful sound, the leaves and buds would look wonderful 1 at top left hand corner and the other at the bottom right hand corner of a larger heavy wood framed mirror ( taking most of the stem of and pianting the leaves and frame the same colour the distressing it. just an idea smile

I’m in the states Iwan and have never seen SYLO but wishing you all the luck for you and the team.
Love the Bread box and cake tin, very retro. I spotted the colorful painting and love the new look and lamp.
The mentally flowers could be painted and what a cool find. I would have grabbed those too. They would look great in the garden. If you put them in the garden without a sealer coating the rain may rust them but how fun are they🥰
Wow .. 200 solar lights are a smashing deal. They will all look so fun at night. Your roof garden is magical.
    Love your kittens. ❤❤❤❤❤
I have those sponge cloths and love them.

Vote in for you🤞 Love seeing your two cats, growing as big as ours. They are both sisters that look alike , but so different in characters. I have a few metal flowers and leaves mixed in with the plants or fake flowers i have dotted around 🪴

Congrats Mr C! 🎉 🤗 I paused the video and put in my vote. ✔ I like the new picture on the wall, it brightens the area up. The shiny metal flowers may deter birds from your rooftop garden. We used to hang shiny tins in fruit trees to scare them off from eating all the fruit. The dull ones could be disassembled and coiled around things like a lamp, a pole, a frame, the flower pot metal frame, you could stick them in planters and you could paint them too. Please don't be offended, but what is that empty pot on your rooftop garden that's spitting water? Is that a water fountain? If so, I've never seen one with so very little water. If it is, fill it with water, place the fountain part up on bricks so it's close to the surface, add some water plants, and maybe a goldfish or two. Love the lights you added. So nice to sit outside with a 🥃and enjoy the fruits of your labor!

The garden looks magical at night with all of the lights, so pretty! I noticed the new painting straight away, and I think you should keep the tin flowers all together in a bouquet 💐 they're quite cool!

Love your charity and dumpster finds!
I would keep those fab metal flowers in your rooftop garden as a sculptural feature, perhaps where plants may not be growing etc. Votes are in! 😊

I would out the metal flowers in the roof top, probably in their own pot, dirt and all! Maybe they’ll get even more patina being outside 😊
