FILM DESCRIPTION:
The members of the odd Addams Family are up to more macabre antics in this sequel. This time around, Gomez Addams (Raul Julia) and his wife, Morticia (Anjelica Huston), are celebrating the arrival of a baby boy. But siblings Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley (Jimmy Workman) are none too happy about the new addition, and try their best to eliminate the infant. When nanny Debbie Jelinsky (Joan Cusack) appears to keep the kids in line, her presence leads to an unexpected treacherous twist.

I love how Margret was just welcomed into the family with open arms and hearts as she is! No one says a darn thing about her pink aesthetic because they simply don’t care!
I also love the fact that they even bothered to bring Cousin Itt & Margret back, it’s a great sense of continuity plus we get to see their adorable baby What!
They're a very open-minded and tolerant family. Even if they do think you're odd they won't say it or criticise you for it.
Especially since neither Debbie or Margaret are rich themselves. Really, all Debbie had to do was be sort of nice to Fester and she would have had his money no problem.

I'd be hella happy to be accepted and married into the Addams family.
It seems like she found a lot more happiness with It and the rest of them because she could loosen up and actually have fun. With her first husband it seemed like all they did was fight and worry about money. The Addams's also never really cared about appearances for the most part either, so to her they must have seemed like a breath of fresh air when she opened up to them.

I love Margaret. She was so weirded out by the Addams family in the first movie and now she has married into the clan. Its so cute seeing how happy she is with Cousin Itt.
Well the time she spent with Itt at the party in the first film left a lasting impression on her, clearly

I love that the stroller is a coffin. I also find it interesting that despite the whole pink thing that Margaret is welcomed. For such a macabre family, they still care about each other which is the charm of the Addams family.
Well, with a family that embraces the macabre, makes you wonder if that’s why they burn so bright about life. Everything is a special experience in life and they accept it.
It’s like when Itt met Margaret. First she was uncomfortable around such a strange person but, as she got to know him, she was able to be honest and be herself around him. And she realises that, though he is strange, Itt showed her true happiness and acceptance. Just like the rest of the family.
So, by the time of the second movie, she’s actually gotten to know Morticia to the point that they’re friends and she and Itt got married with a kid. She probably looks as odd to the Addams as the Addams look to the outside world but they love her newfound enthusiasm and how she probably makes Itt feel.
Makes you wonder how Itt is as a stepfather.
Rest in peace the poor girl who we don't even know who she was

See, this is what makes Debbie kinda interesting as an antagonist because it's just so ironic. She's designed to look like the exact antithesis of what the Addams are and obviously sees herself as this super evil villainess... but in in all honestly, if she was just upfront and honest about her intentions, she would have fit right in. Like...even if she admitted to being a murderer, they'd probably just shrug and be like "Well, everyone needs a hobby."
she does admit she is a psycho killer it just never works out for her 🤣
Like when she said "I'd love for you to check on me so you can know that I am not some sort of serial killer Hahaha!"
And Morticia says "Of course you are not.." in the sweetest voice ever, and Gomez goes "you are too young".
Actually she is the anti adams: She acts modest and proper, but she has no love for anyone but herself. The Adams are a clan of weirdos but they are loving and accepting to each other.
Debbie is the counter antagonist to the Munster's niece, Marilyn.
Who else loved the fact Lurch seemed so remorseful of his accident of baking her?

I love how they kept Anjelica Huston's face lit while everything and everyone else are dimmed! I wonder what camera trick they used for that!
Opposite actually, they shined a light at her eyes in a nod to old fashioned horror movies.
Its paying hommage to the Original morticias "glamor shots" where the camera comes really close. Old hollywood. Its beautifully done in these movies.
It's pretty simple actually, they set up a small light aimed only at her. You know those "flaps" on lighting equipment? Those are called barn doors and they're specifically used to cut the light. There's also specialized tools to help focus the lights like large cutouts called cookies.

God the more I watch these clips, the more I think that the Addamses are more of a tribe than an actual family name. Like a cult (I mean this in the nicest possible way for them) of adopted outcasts, misfits, and their descendants. Like either everyone seems to have the last name Addams, they're called cousin, and nobody knows who Granny is related to. I like to think it's more like a tribe/cult rather than their family tree looking like a Christmas Wreath. It seems to have a nicer meaning, that they don't even need to be blood-related or married to be considered part of this friendly and slightly eccentric family. Debbie even tried to kill them and they built her a memorial on the family burial grounds; they never hated her, they even supported her when she was monologing.
That's actually a fascinating idea, and it would explain why they have such an unassuming and common surname (additional D aside) while also explaining why there seems to be no consistency about where they originally came from. There are Addamses all over the world apparently!

Well, to be specific, Granny isn't an Addams. She's Morticia's mother, and Morticia married into the Addams family. Gomez and Fester are from the "core" family; the line of direct descendents. But their family is large and spread out. Some are cousins, some of the "oddballs" that aren't specifically stated as cousins are family friends. Like Flora and Fauna, for instance; they're not related. Cousin Itt IS a relative though. All the people buried in their backyard are part of the family too. So yes, not every kooky character you see at the parties and such are related to our main family here. Only the ones they specifically introduce as aunt, uncle, or cousin are their relations. The rest are their dear friends, and the Addams clan is actually very loving, supporting, and friendly, so naturally they invite ALL their friends to big events. It's really a fantastic family.

He was trying to get his hands on the Addams family fortune with Fester's fake mother, but Fester opened up a book on Hurricane Irene and it blew him (Tully, Margaret 's ex) and the fake mother out of the house and into two open caskets in the Addams family cemetery plot. You can watch that scene on TH-cam.

I like all the different designs for the random guys at the bachelor party, they really went all out in the costuming and makeup departments for this!
In particular, the dude sitting near the stairs with the bowler hat and mutton chops mustache looks like a pretty cool guy.

@@sonamy1231000 what I'm trying to say is that every good story follows some internal logic regardless how unrealistic it may be. Take GOT for example, it have dragons on it and magic, bit it sure have an internal logic that creates the ilusion of verisimilitud.
