    Actually i really admire her, she's such a hardworker girl, how can she be an 18 y.o. working abroad knowing little about their language but there she is 18 years now in Philippines. Even though i don't really know her I'm so proud of her.
    In indonesia here, we also have eat bulaga and a host from Philippines, he is Leo Consul. He is handsome and funny and has a lot of fangirl in Indonesia, maybe next time you should do a video with him , of course in bahasa indonesia

    You are amazing Aljohn. I stayed in Sao Paolo, Brazil for 3 months due to work and I was only able to learn basic words/greetings but you only learned it from the "internete". Just to share, my name is Randell, and when a Portuguese pronounce my name, it will be Handew. R whenever it is the first letter of a word is pronounced as H and l, when it is the last letter of a word is changed to "w". So when you say Brazil, it is pronounced, Braziw.

    • @aljohnpolyglot
      @aljohnpolyglot  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      wow thanks for your insights! by the way, the "r" does not really sound "h" it has a really distinct sound that is impossible to type😂. I hope to visit Brazil someday as you 🤗

If I speak a foreign language, I don't speak it from a perspective of a Filipino if that makes sense.

    Listening
    Speaking
    Reading
    And writing
    Yan dapat ang sunod sunod. Mas magaling ang listening comprehension mo mas kaya mong pakinggan ng maayos ung salita. Basta makinig ka tas sabihin mo, pag di mo naintindihan proceed to reading and then lastly writing.

    Filipinos need to learn as much as they can. Being good in English is actually good but not great because it allows you to communicate in a wider audience but as a result it's value in terms of career is diminished compared to other languages that are rarely heard or spoken in the Philippines like Portuguese, German, or any other Asian language.

    Just curious why you don't work on your pronunciation

    • @aljohnpolyglot

      I can't juggle all of the languages all at once and I don't have time to get them all to a really high level. Just like what I said on the video, my accent is bad and I will work on them once I go to Brazil once I start to focus on the languages one by one. I just learned this language in a month and it went downhill ever since

      @@aljohnpolyglot I'm only talking about pronunciation, not maintenance. If you want good pronunciation, the best time to learn it is at the very beginning, and it doesn't take very long with most languages. It is quite difficult to "fix" pronunciation later on. No offense, but imo a polyglot should know this.

      @@rayflaherty3441 i'm sorry if I oppose your opinion. In my experience, pronunciation comes in the later part once you start speaking the language at a high level when your ear is already good enough. This might help you correct nuances in your speech that disrupt the melody of a language. Daiana in this video for example had a bad pronunciation when she was starting Tagalog, but through time she refined it by constant exposure to the language. It's like hearing a song multiple times until you can sing it yourself on tune without assistance. Contrary to you, I believe that it is easier to fix on the later stages because you will already know when you're out of tune and you try to auto assess yourself. That's why I'm saying that I also need to get languages to a high level first because that makes pronunciation more flawless.

      @@aljohnpolyglot Pronunciation is the skill that gets fossilized the easiest in adults, so it's always best to learn the basics first. Fortunately, it's usually the quickest skill to get on top of. Of course we cannot "master" it without a lot of practice; we make adjustments to it as needed when we improve, just like every other skill. So which of your languages did you start out with pronunciation as poor as your Portuguese, but now have "flawless" pronunciation in?
