Taxes and extortions are too much at our ports - remember former president Atta Mills anger towards them?. The decline means less revenue for the country. Why is it that in this technological age, one cannot even check how much it will cost to ship an equipment to Ghana online. What is online and the reality are day and night. They frustrate you will all sorts of charges so one cannot clear one’s equipment-vehicles etc- but end up selling them at lower prices to politicians. With these tactics, there will surely be alternatives for shippers. Hence the decline. They tend to forget that Ghana is not the only port country in West Africa.
Thank you for your input. I don’t know anything about the port business so l am happy to learn this. And you are right about the online issue. Information should be readily available for businesses to access
taxes at the ports are too much. Greedy politicians will kill Ghana. I think you did not make research on this at all. The importers are going to Togo and Ivory Coast. Then drive it into Ghana. Is terrible for Ghana and the port that we spent billions to expand
Thank you for the updates. For some time I was not seeing your channel but l am glad l see it now to be able to follow your updates. You are doing very well. Thank you
I purchased a hatchback for $700 in the USA, only to be informed upon arrival at the Tema Port that I need to pay $3,500 for clearance, including COVID levy and GetFund taxes in 2023.
Good news, if higher taxes will force our people to consume locally manufactured goods, to me it is the way to go. The African has been trained by his colonizer to love worship foreign goods and this the medicine to cure them sickness higher taxes on foreign goods. Way to go GH. Gov.
It's very, much good they will sit in their offices and wait 😅😅 till thy kingdom come.now we will see who is the boss here swine they never seen anything yet 😊
Not good news. Its a sign that economic activity within the domestic economy has slowed so businesses which reply on importing inputs are importing less. With depreciation of the currency our exports should be cheaper so we should be exporting more. We want to export more to have foreign exchange to pay off our domestic debts. The economy is still a while away from recovery
Tired of BBC especially their "BBC Africa" channel. I highly suspect they are huge racists and every headline annoys me. Why don't they focus on Europe's colossal problems instead.
