- This a Tutorial on to make a map on generals world builder. Originally on my channel, But now redone and re edited for FrugalGamers. With more detail and understatement.

when i was kid i did speak english. i discovered that i can make maps on one of my favourite games. but i didn't know what to do. i just throw things. but couldn't find how to make the players start point. i also didn't have access to the internet ( like i would know what to do or understand what they say)
anyway your video gave me some sweet memories when i was kid. i was happy back then. thank you

Hello, do you know how to turn off the timer for summoned units? So, for example, the Balrog stays on the map longer? I remember the Misson in battle at mid-earth 1, where at Minas Thirit the army of the dead was there much longer than the normal Spell would have allowed. Thank you :)

hi, i tried this. the map shows in the game. i can play normally but the AI dosn't build and just stays there. please suggest what i'm doing wrong?

@kaidon hirsch ,lower the land below like 8 and there should be water appearing if not use the water tool at the top
FrugalGamers If they get stuck on hills, near rivers, and not following the way path how Do i fix that?
the game is a bit old so this issue happens often. the only thing i could say is move the waypath farther away from the water. i have fully figured out how to stop them from driving close to the water.. i self taught myself so i dont know everything.
+FrugalGamers I have a question, I have deleated my game, reinstalled it, and still have this problem. I have to zoom into a zone(area) to see the land, otherwise it is land. As usual, I can't find a answer.

Haha, the zero key is damaged since I used the keyboard so much so I had to hit it hard to get the 0 to register. I was trying to get it in one take.
unit ??? does not exist error occures when setting the values of money1 and money 2.
when i start a game on the map i cant choose my spawn area and Teams and everything like a Mission map what am i doing wrong
are you sure you set spawn points, and are they within the orange border?
FrugalGamers yes in the Lobby i can't choose Position ai or any other Settings but I made working Maps

Hi can you tell me how remove the water in a map after like 10 minutes. For a no rush 10 minutes maps. Like the "beach party" custom map add in ccg?
Talking about Beach Party, does anybody still has it stored in their computer? :D Can't find it anywhere?
And also, is there a community or something somewhere with all the remaining ccg & ccgzh active players?

TheDiabolo047 i have a map similar to beach party, but its just 3 islands with unlimited money[i believe] and after a time limit the water goes down, here is a download: www.mediafire.com/download/c79126q55obmfmz/Island_Battle.rar . look at the scripts to see how its done. im going to make a couple videos in the future , ill be sure add this to the bunch.

how can i resize the map boundries? the orange line stays the same even when i change the border property in the first pop-up you showed us.

Click Browse, create a Folder in Game Folder. Save there.
I made a 3vs3 skirmish map and I can set the teams and place them but when I start all the AI don't do anything.
I don't know why but here is what I did. I dit all the things from the fist vid but I made the ground for the AI smaller and the attack lines are from the CombatZone to the AI fields. the AI fields are also in wierd shapes with the Combat zone around it but not filling it.
+tristanovic2 - the inner and outer perimeters have to have enough room for them to build structures, they cant be too small. sometimes the ai's dont work, just delete the waypoints, save, close the program, re-open, try again

I followed this video directions, but my ai is not building anything. it's a large map with 3 other teams, with a lot of building space. what am I doing wrong?
Ive seen occasions where this has happened, try making a basic medium sized map making sure everything is as it should be and see if the same problem occurs. If it doesnt then it might be the spelling of something on the original map or its just to big.

Im having problems trying to place structures to my faction such as a powerplant or war factory. I can place them on the map choose their team as the team im playing as but when i go to play the map all the buildings are grey (neutral) what am i missing?
Im pretty sure you have to set the ownership to player, it a script. Its not as simple as changing from civilian to USA. Look around through the scripts you should see something along the lines of "set building (select) to ownership of (player)." dont quote me on that, I dont remember it word for word but it does exist.
Okay thought it might of been a script I needed, I'll look for it thank you.
+FrugalGamers I couldn't find any script that places a specific buildings ownership to player, team or faction. In the owners Manuel all it says to do is just select the faction when you place it on the map but that don't work.

Mostafa zayat First, you open a word pad and type ur text like this:
Intro1
"Text Here"
End
Then, you have to save it as map.str in the folder location of ur map.
next, you open worldbuilder to the map u want the string for.. go to edit, scripting, new script, script conditions set to "true", actions if true tab set to scripting,briefing,show military briefing. in the first blue hypertext (string) you name it to what ur intro is called which we had at the top and "Intro1" and the second hypertext is the time period in milseconds you want it to appear.
This can be used multiple times, for example:
Intro2 ----- String Title (name)
"2nd Text Here" ---- Text tht will display
End ---- End String
can be used as "String:Intro2" for "6000" mil
and the game will show "2nd text here"

every time i play the AI Dozer doesn't build any thing
In my world, only 2 out of the 6 AI teams function properly; the other 4 just remain idle, even though their InnerPerimeters are bigger than those of the AI's that work. I'm not sure what could be the problem... :P
I know its 6 years ago back maybe inner perimeters should be same?

I do remember the AI system being a little weird. Sometimes they would work and other times they wouldn't. Usually I would just re-do the team assigning and placement of way-points and that would fix the issue.

there will be an option for unofficial maps when creating a game and all your saved maps will be there.

World builder comes with the game it is located in the root directory.

Mostafa zayat You can try going to scripts add make it unmanned to see if you can claim it when u walk into a specific area, or you can just set one team to own it by default. ill try to post a video sometime about unmanned vehicles.

Mostafa zayat if you want only one person to control it you would have to set tht player to control the units. say it was you and 3 AI's, if you wanted only the local player to own them you would set the ownership to "localplayer"

I just download C&C from the Origin store and world builder works for me. Make sure you run the game in comparability mode. Its very old.
made a really unbalance and un fair map , that made 8 AI vs 1 hard to win but get rekt if get nuke
