I’m sure this video just brought a lot of great tips to people painting at home, controlling your environment is one of the biggest hurdles of painting at home, because there is so many things involved, from dust control to airflow, to bugs , etc. I am all self taught , and have been painting for several years, although I don’t consider myself a beginner I will say I am always ambitiously perfecting my craft learning on each paintjob whether it’s what I did right or what I did wrong. Garage painting is an art of its own , it presents challenges one must overcome , and allows the painters imagination to come up with creative solutions. We are our own worst critic, and I think it’s the pursuit of perfection in an imperfect world or scenario that gets us addicted to painting.

Cool. I made a temporary paint booth just like that when I painted my Mustang. I even used a zipper door and fan/filter setup like that. Got great results.

A possible helping solution for your wall panels is one I came up with for my car port tent that would flap incessantly in the wind, ultimately ripping itself apart. This solution solved that problem and the new tent lasted over a year here in Southern Arizona.
Using para cord - you go around the perimeter of the booth at least two levels (divided in thirds will give two wraps of para cord.) you do this inside and outside at the same level as the other - this will sandwich the plastic sheet in between the para cord. Tie one end of the para cord and stretch it as tight as possible, then tie it off at the other end.
The more rows of para cord the less flapping and moving.

Yo to hear you say your a PE teacher and you don’t picture yourself painting etc for career in the future and to see you now basically running your own busines, brand and social platform etc it’s kinda funny how me say things like that but than destiny kinda takes its own course. This was so Inspiring to see. I’m 32 and been been working with paint for 15+ years first started as a graffiti artist (don’t judge me I was young lol), than I started doing custom airbrush, worked for few years in a buddies collision repair shop, opened my own performance shop with a best friend and now I’m going to start incorporating my knowledge from collision to start custom body and paint at the shop. Great work man love your content. Keep up the great work man I’ve learned so much from your tips

You can stop the booth from sucking in by putting a inlet fan blowing in through that other filter and when you see the plastic pushing out that is a positive pressure. You may need to reduce from 4 to 2 extraction fans. Great video thanks.

one suggestion: Increase the number of filters for the intake air and relive some of that negative pressure the fans are creating. It should help with the roof trying to collapse and put less pressure on the zipper door.

I love watching your video's and learn something every time. My only question is regarding the fans, is there a safety concern with explosions from the fumes? A good friend of mine built a dedicated booth and he installed "non explosive" fans and explained that the newer paints have a higher probability of explosion.
