    I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT! at one stage it looked like the swans would have the pies measure given they were up by around 6 goals. However, I reckon the only team that would keep on going no matter what would be the pies and they almost pulled off an incredible fightback. However full credit to both sides for a great season this year and well done to the swans getting to the big dance with the cats.

      since an interstate side won the first flag(92)magpies have only managed one flag(even then took em 2 games to win)so currently sit 12th.. of 15 clubs. With WCE, Hawthorn & lickely Geelong all on 4 flags. Considering the Magpies large following.. many would call that under performing..

      I agree @Rubza 289. Yep, dissapointing to lose by a solitary point & miss out on the GF. However, i think going out this way is possibly better than suffering the heartache of copping an absolute flogging against a rampaging Geelong next week. They look like a team on an absolute mission to get the Flag. Still we had a very good season. From 17th last year to a prelim this year. Way, way, way beyond my expectations. I was thinking finishing from 10th to 12th this year would of been a success. Our fighting spirit & never say die this season has been exceptional! We'll be even stronger next year. I really hope the Swannies/Bloods win it next week. I want to see Buddy win a Flag with Sydney. Plus Willeton/ East Fremantle boy Chad Warner get a Premiership Medallion.

    Hayward and then Franklin both blocking Howe out of marking contests. The umps were good on this most of the day until the dying stages when they either 'put the whistle away' or 'crumbled under the pressure'. 'It is what it is' was McCrae's response in his after match presser when asked about his bizarre first half matchups. What it is Craig is a 1 point loss. Couple this with his stellar move of sending Moore to the forward line in the dying stages of the qualifying final, and what you have are the classic failings of a first year coach. Clearly spooked by what happened at the SCG a month ago. To the pies fans who wanted a new coach, here it is. I hope you're having a good night. Somebody said the current list is better than 2018. At first I didn't believe it, but in comparison I have to say it's true. The players thought they were a flag chance this year and so did I. They were in a semi final only 2 years ago. Last year was an outlier (6 of the starting 18 missing for the first 2 months plus a plague of scandals). What did you think of the match ups in the first half today? Or Moore going to the forward line in the dying stages of the Cats game? Don't get swept along in this 'coach of the year' nonsense. These were rookie errors. Were all the narrow victories commendable or did they underachieve? I reckon the ride to a prelim should have been smoother.

      Let me shed a bit of light as to why people hate Collingwood, their fanatical base is the foundation, go to any home Collingwood match, they appeal for frees at any slight instance, as soon as the opposition touch the ball they look for excuses as to why a free kick is warranted against them. People have had enough. People need to have two eyes and one brain, they have one eye and no brain. Humble is not in their vocabulary. When they lose matches conspiracy theories reign supreme. When they win they think they are the greatest. You want proof of this just look at their whining comments, they always pick on one incident to justify why they should have won. They fixate themselves on acting like juveniles.

    What an unbelievable game of Australian Rules football. For this one, I'll just focus on the final two minutes of this Preliminary Final rematch. Why I say "Preliminary Final rematch"? It is because Sydney defeated Collingwood in the 2012 Preliminary Final, en route to a Grand Final victory over Hawthorn by ten points the following week.
    Both teams could've sealed the game at separate stages:
    1. Sydney's Tom Hickey, a former West Coast and St Kilda player, if his kick hit a Sydney target, a goal would've definitely won it.
    2. If one of the Collingwood players got boot to ball first and soccered it through for a goal in the dying seconds, they would've won.
    This is Collingwood's 2nd Preliminary Final loss in four years, the most recent (until tonight) was in 2019 to eventual Grand Final losers GWS Giants. The Magpies also lost a Preliminary Final by less than a kick way back in 2007 to eventual Grand Final winners Geelong.

    Don’t focus about one or two free kicks. You need to understand that through the course of the game there are many free kicks missed for both sides.

      Pretty much a perfect explanation there my friend. I said this before on here that I have a lot of admiration for the pies as a club and I like a lot of their players (except De Goey and Ginnivan) but the thing that gets me with the pies are the fans (every club has these types of fans indeed). Most pies fans are fine, but I still remember some of my bad experiences with them.

    Horrible game, collingwood came back but the umpires that round were something else. AFL i hope you realise what horrible umpiring it was that round and what a robbery that was for the pies, not a game worth it

    • @tom7991
      @tom7991 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Justin Kassis "Kid", you chose 2 examples of games that could have gone either way. Thats just footy. Thats life. Jack ginnivan stopped getting frees in like round 10. And that had no impact on the game whatsoever. Quit sooking around, grow up.

      @Justin Kassis What are you talking about? We won all our games fair and square. A few of them may have been luck, but thats because its footy. Sport is luck. Umpires had it against us the entire season.
