Roscoe thank you for this beautiful reaction. And thank for sharing your struggles with us. For me what’s even more painful of Tae thinking he should get ‘hurt’ and that maybe he would get ‘rest’ is that this was a period of time where he lost close friends to suicide as well as other idols who lost their lives in that time period. Not to mention his grandfather passing in 2018 too. Tae I feel was still burnt out and not processed losing his grandma (whom brought him up) in late 2016 plus the burn out he experienced with filming the drama Hwarang at the same time as their tour and on top of their enormous schedule with variety shows, song writing, photoshoots, (practices for multiple tours, fan meetings, content) and being on tour at the same time then etc… (esp when you consider appearing in a drama would already be considered a full time job with the long days on set) all that running and busyness and fatigue I feel they all cumulated to his 2018 self who thought it wasn’t worth it to feel so down and hurt… and not wanting to continue and contract renewal’s etc. Tae has always been known as a very sentimental and sensitive artistic gentle soul so you know that all this pressure would have been felt very intensely and Uniquely as it always is with artistic free-spirits and how crushing it would have been. Knowing how much both he in particular and JK were struggling is so sad. Magic Shop came out at the same time too. I remember Tae talking about it in their interview later on in how tough a time JK was having too. I remember them talking about this in festa 2020 too. I really appreciate their inner strength in overcoming their pains. I have to say this… It really saddens me that even when watching this episode and when Tae was talking of his struggles so many people in the chat included disregarded or overlooked Tae’s pain. If I had one wish as a fandom it would be for those who only are concerned with their bias to regain some of their humanity and see all members as human. Tae was literally baring his soul to us. I wish people would realise how special that is and how privileged we are that they trust us to open up to us like this. In regards to Tae’s album I’m so proud of him. He mentioned that he was supposed to release it in Dec on IU’s palette but that he scrapped the project and started again as he felt it was lacking. While his ‘mixtape’ has been in the planning for a long time and was almost complete many times almost ready for release… he scrapped many of the songs and restarted etc. until he finally decided as he said in his rolling stone interview that he has plenty of time to show his own music… he wanted to first focus on establishing his musical colours as Kim Taehyung and showing his tastes and what he likes etc. he has described Layover as a stepping stone, turning point etc which makes me super excited for the music he’s working on now too. I think Bangtan will truly be a force to be reckoned with in 2025. What a great ep of Suchwita this was. It had everything: humour, emotional depth, warmth, light, comfort, beauty and honesty… Tae to a tee. Also thanks to Yoongi for creating such a wonderful platform for the boys too, he is a wonderful host. Here’s to the health, safety and happiness of our beautiful Tae and all the members, and yourself too Roscoe. Your comments at the end were very comforting and warm. Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you for sharing this, I didn't realize everything V was going through in 2018, with his grueling schedule, also losing his grandpa & some of his close friends. I can now understand better why he was so mentally & physically exhausted!! V is my bias, I've always admired how he does things his way, he's such a unique person, and still very sweet and humble even with all his success. I wish him & all the members good health & safety while they are serving their country, can't wait for their comeback in 2025💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
It’s fascinating that each member has such different relationships with Suga and how it has shown and shined through each one’s appearance on his show. It’s difficult to watch each one of them express the hard time they had during 2018. None of us knew just how bad they were hurting. It has been brave of them to voice it and share it with theirs fans. I guess they really do feel like army is part of their family - like cousins - they can tell us some stuff, but they keep the rest between themselves - like brothers do. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us too 💜
Thank you so much for this reaction, Roscoe, and your words of wisdom at the end. Much appreciated. We have seen other members' points of view regarding their 2018 crisis but it was obvious during their acceptance speech how hard it hit Taehyung. He was holding it together so well but as soon as Jin mentioned their thinking of disbanding his face just crumpled and he broke into tears. Apparently he couldn't stop crying even after they got backstage. I'm glad they got over those difficulties stronger and more sure of their path. As that wise man Yoongi said, "It's okay, everything becomes memories and lessons". It was also funny but I understood why Taehyung said that the first thing he would do with his young self was lock him up. Newbie Taehyung was so irrepressible, like a hyperactive toddler. He settled down somewhat through the years but still retained that charming cheekiness. I remember him crashing Yoongi's birthday vlive and refusing to leave until Yoongi said "I love you" back. Precious! I feel sure that they will get their Northern Lights Bon Voyage when they're back together because they will need some time to learn each other again and settle into being a group again. I loved Layover, I'm so pleased that Taehyung made the music that he wanted. His promotions were so varied and well-considered, full of novelty and his own special charm. And Yeontan is just so irresistible! I can never praise Yoongi enough for being such a masterful host. Every episode of Suchwita is a delight in its own right; I wonder how many more episodes Yoongi got "in the can" before his military service.
I maybe think that military training and idol training have a lot of commonalities - like in the way it demands/co-opts your body and mind. And the way units bond seems analogous to the way groups bond.
Hey Roscoe! New to the couch and I suppose I would be considered baby army (since June of this year). I always liked the BTS songs I heard but never did a deep dive on them until I got sick enough to end up in bed for the entire month of July and ended up in the hospital for a bit. Watching BTS on my phone was the only thing that kept my mind off the pain. They have me for life now. I love your style and input. I never thought I would be so invested in a group like this. I like music that makes me think but tend to sway toward harder rock music even though I grew up listening to rap and a good mix of pop and rock. I got bored with rap in high school but BTS actually makes you think. Every song has a purpose and meaning behind the lyrics, even if it's just about cutting loose and having fun. I'm happy to have found you.
Looking back at the 2018 award show with all the other members in beautiful stage clothes. And then V with Bright Neon Red hair and an exactly matching suit. I must say he looked terrible.. for someone who payed attention to every last button. I realize now he was crashing. Losing sight of himself. He probably doesn't even remember being on the stage that night...Every member was crying...more than they usually did. I've watched it a couple of times, but I can't watch it anymore.
Wow that is an incredibly hurtful insensitive and unnecessary comment. Tae looked absolutely beautiful especially with his vibrant kimono. If you see the behind the scenes when he he was getting ready and press photos from the event they were iconic and his beauty and fashion was praised. To judge from a moment on stage after intense performances and where he is emotionally in turmoil. Wow I’m flabbergasted that there are people who even think like this and think it’s necessary to comment like this. You represent what is the worst in ARMY’s. Jealousy is a disease. Please seek treatment for it.
You want to praise the other members and their beautiful clothes, but unfortunately this video is not about fashion. I think you are lost here, and it is better for you to stop praising your favorites under Tae’s videos, Shame on you for doing that.
Shame on you girl delete your comment if you don't like them don't watch them It's very easy go watch your favorites and if you want to talk about fashion V in 2018 vote as the most beautiful man in kpop and in the world with his red hair look and he won the award of the idol of idols even he look tired than he was doing his best and he deserve all the love he gets he is perfect
