Hi Matt thanks for the in depth video. I purchased the Vevor router in June 2023 with plunge base and soon after the lever for the plunge base will not lock, its a cheap plastic gear that is stripped. I have been in constant contact with Vevor and they will not honour their 12 month warranty. I will be engaging Australia authorities under consumer laws. Cheap yes, buyer beware.
I own Dewalt, and Milwaukee tools and have for years, I recently bought a VEVOR drywall sander " Brushless " for a project I was doing, I was very impressed with the power and the lightweight................. I would by from them again !!

Thanks for sharing. An excellent demonstration of the versatility of these little trim routers. Vevor seems to be making some good quality tools. I bought a set of their aluminum set up blocks and they don't just look good, they are dead accurate. Used my calipers and they are just as accurate as other more expensive sets I have bought. Great review. For this price, you can just get a scrap piece of acrylic and make a larger base.
Amazon in the UK stock tools from Katsu, these are essentially Makìta copies, but are very good quality, along with the router they sell a bench to pillar drill that's not bad for £75
I've basically filled up my starter workshop of katsu stuff as it's good quality and cheap. I abuse my tools as well and they are still holding up strong for how cheap I managed to get them
Nice video! I've had this router in my Amazon tool list for over a year. I'm pretty much a beginner and almost bought this as my first router. I ended up getting the Skil combo on sale for 99 bucks instead and a WEN combo one and the Ryobi trim one because I accumulate tools. After seeing this review I might grab this one too. I guess I'm in the 1% that knew about it but watched anyway because I was curious! Appreciate the review!

I got a vevor 3 1/4hp plunge router for Christmas and went to use it on flattening table. Tried it on a piece of soft maple first and was ok, very loud, but ok. As I make my first pass on the table, which was flattened already on the top, the bit started sliding out and grabbed the table. I only wanted 1/16 trimmed off to level the bottom but needed more after that incident. It seemed a bit under powered for a 3 1/4hp router. So I took the Hercules 2 1/2 hp router was smoother and was honestly alot more powerful. I have a Porter cable, bosch and dewalt routers along with the Hercules 2 1/2hp router and dewalt palm router. Unfortunately the vevor wasn't smooth, powerful or didn't hold the bit which caused damage. Maybe I got a bad one, but I won't use it ever again
I have that router, though I havent used it yet. I bought it and a small router lift to go in my work bench when I get around to building it. I know its underpowered but I dont plan on doing anything heavy duty with it. Thanks for the review!
Crazy enough I bought this on feb 6 on sale but the green version with all the exxtras I have the dewalt cordless but i use it as a table router.love both tyvm for the vids

Hi Matt, thanks for the review. Although they don't sell this model on my side of the world, they do have a different looking version that also comes with a tilt base but costs about 3 times more. What I'd like to know is if this model is dual voltage? The model sold over here indicates that it supports both 110 and 220 volts (not sure how that works on a motor, though).
So I bought this router, but I’m not sure if this chucks have to be swapped out to allow a 3/8” bit, I’m not sure if I’m missing something or if I’m just not smart enough to figure it out plus I’ve also inserted the 1/4 bit but it seems to not fully go in or is it normal for it to be out more than normal, I’m not sure what’s going on, a little follow up video on this would be great.
Thank you for the review Matt. It like a good low priced option. I guess my question would be how long will it last? And what if you need service? Otherwise it seems great. Thanks again! 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the info! I don’t have a router yet. I have been trying to save up for one but now I can get this one for the time being until I can get a better one. The router bits will actually cost me more than the router 😅
I got this answer from Vevor: "Hello, we are very sorry for the inconvenience. Since we do not have a prototype at the moment, our technical staff cannot verify your question in time and give an accurate answer. You can refer to the product details page/instructions for more information. Thank you for your understanding. "
I'm looking for a router to make some wooden flutes, which would require routing out two 1/2" deep rounded channels in hardwood. Would this router be viable for this (with the correct bit)?
Everything looks oddly similar to the makita palm router that i own, the plunge base looks identical, very curious if they fit each other or how they stack up to each other.
HI Matt, You did know your Bosch has a fine tune on it also. I'm sure you did, but just incase, that tapered end of your adjustable stop rod does turn up and down..... Just checking brother..😁
My Dad had an old ryobi trim back int the blue and orange days but I'm a Dewalt fan boy. was wondering though what router do you recommend for table routing?
Hello Matt, I have the original Makita that this router is copying (although it looks like straight knockoff and I wouldnt be surprised if they had some legal trouble over some of their tools). Your amazon link does not work in my country (they show just similar products they ship here) and I cannot see whether or not hey show the cam lever for the fix base, particularly the knob for depth adjustment, my makita has it, and all the knockoffs I see have it too. DId Vevor had the knob on their product photos and shipped it without it, or were the pictures faithful to what was sold to you?
I'm concerned about people using this router as it may be dangerous. The 8mm collet is correct, but the 1/4 inch collet is an er style collet. The problem is, the router does not have an er taper, so it won't clamp to the bit properly. The taper looks like the one used by makita, so the makita collet may work the way it should, but i haven't tried it yet.
Use ir for a month and tell us how it went and if it still works properly. That would be a real good review since most of cheap tools are good for a days use eheh
I know it isn't a woodworking tool... but I wish someone could review the Vevor 8 in. Variable Speed Bench Grinder with *brushless motor* someday. And don't even feel pressured because I know this is a woodworking channel.
I can’t believe they’re charging almost $60 for this router and it’s not even CORDLESS?!?! What a RIPOFF! I mean, SERIOUSLY??? No. Not seriously! Joking! JOKING!!! Seriously, though, it IS hard to believe you get that much router for less than $60. (Closer to $50 as I write this.) My only concern(s) would be longevity - especially if you pushed it for more than just a couple minutes - and runout after it’s seen a little heavy use and gotten hot. Especially over time. For $52, it’s pretty much a disposable router. And once you’re disposing of your second one… you could have bought the Makita. Another good video, Matt! Thanks!
Ladt month I paid $50 USD for a Wen trimmer with just the fixed base as a gift for a new sawdust maker. She was thrilled! But...sure would have been nice to have that plunge base...just sayin' 😢
I already have the makita corded router, but I need a plunge base. Might just get this one since it's likely the same price as just the plunge base...LOL
Vevor appears to have two lines of power tools: Blue and Orange. Does anyone know the difference ? For the record: I prefer the orange color as well. Well I purchased the Orange one. Turns out the difference in then the blue one has a knob for depth adjustment on the trim base. *** BOTH HAVE THE WORST DEPTH TURRET IMPLEMENTATION ONE CAN IMAGINE !!! *** It wobbles like a drunken sailor and is is unreliable, non-receptive with cupped adjustment screws. I replaced said screws with M5 by 20 mm Hex cap screws for some improvement.
Vevor makes some decent stuff, and some not so decent stuff..... i.e. bought their 10pk of 4ft linkable LED ceiling mount shop lights, great light output but cheaply made and priced accordingly. Bought their solar parking lot light - charged it for 3 days, Incredible output first 4 hours after install, was almost dead by morning and would not recharge - returned for refund. Got a couple other items that work fine, and about to order their 1 ton heavy duty manual arbor press to try out.
I am a poor woodworker that has bought multiple tools from Vevor, The first was their 10inch table saw, learned the hard way to look at reviews on TH-cam before buying. The fence does not align with the blade when moved as shown in several TH-cam videos. Also bought their planer 13 inch it is failing after 4 months of use. Vevor does not honor the 1 year warranty. Any time you contact them it turns into a weeks long back and forth with them wanting videos of problem and their website does not accept android videos from your phone. They offered me 10 then 20 percent of the purchase price instead of honoring warranty. The table saw problem has had no resolution. Don't buy anything from Vevor it is junk.
I've purchased many things from vevor... Forstner bits, linear rails lots of other bits and such but Wanna say I only have 1 vevor power tool. Anyways I've been happy wit everything from vevor, a table saw should be one of your spendier purchases... don't wanna go cheap on one of your most used power tools, just my opinion. About your customer review... still sounds better than wen, they are cheap junk terrible customer service too. I got the wen 15amp plunge router, for $80 it's not bad but compare it to my dewalt plunge router it sucks lol
I really like Matt's channel, but I strongly disagree on getting this router. Buyer beware. This is without a doubt the most dangerous piece of equipment I have ever purchased. Received it today and returned it today. Opened it up and the accompanying manual appeared to be written for a different router. Got a scrap piece of wood to try it out. Inserted a small round-over bit and got ready to see how well it worked. Turned it on and it immediately threw the bit. It shattered the plexiglass in the base, with a piece hitting me in the eyebrow, causing a cut that took my wife three or four minutes to stop bleeding. Of course, I got sucked in because of the price, so according to my wife it's my own fault. I have been woodworking for 45 years and have never had a piece of equipment attack me right out of the box. I would encourage everyone to stay away from this brand. If you already have one of these, I hope you can replace it as soon as you can. If you have kids, please keep them out of the shop if you must use it.

Congrats on being the first person… EVER! To hook up a Vevor to a Festool extractor 😂

For the first 20 sec I was thinking, what an odd looking router. I was searching for budget router... Wifi router.
My favorite router for plunge is my Festool OF1400. I wish it had lights though.
The larger bases also reduce the amount of finger/router bit meetups
The Vevor also comes in a kit that includes a tilt base. My first question is what does one use a 'tilt base' for ?
I got this answer from Vevor:
"Hello, we are very sorry for the inconvenience. Since we do not have a prototype at the moment, our technical staff cannot verify your question in time and give an accurate answer. You can refer to the product details page/instructions for more information. Thank you for your understanding. "

Looks identical to my home hardware( Canada) Benchmark brand router. I didn't get a plunge base and paid about the same price.
I own one and like it a lot
Will any of the other trim routers fit in that base?
That plunge base looks like it has centre marks for the middle of the router bits like on Festool routers.
nicely presented...
Will the plunge base fit the makita ?

Use ir for a month and tell us how it went and if it still works properly. That would be a real good review since most of cheap tools are good for a days use eheh
Great router for the price
Thanks!
Pretty cool budget starter router!!!
I just bought a Kobalt trim router on clearance at Lowe's that looks IDENTICAL to that one but Blue 😂
@lazor222 Admittedly I took a quick glance... but that's interesting.
I like the QUEEN reference 😅
Ladt month I paid $50 USD for a Wen trimmer with just the fixed base as a gift for a new sawdust maker. She was thrilled! But...sure would have been nice to have that plunge base...just sayin' 😢
I already have the makita corded router, but I need a plunge base. Might just get this one since it's likely the same price as just the plunge base...LOL
Last time I looked, the Makita branded plunge base was upwards of $70 USD. The kit is $60. Hmmm....just sayin' 😅
Betcha those bases are Makita compatible. And you can order the bases separate from the router body.
I love to see you try out the bosch mrc23evsk.
Did anyone else notice that at 1:40 the way you had it turned the router looked like Hello Kitty?
Vevor appears to have two lines of power tools: Blue and Orange. Does anyone know the difference ?
For the record: I prefer the orange color as well. Well I purchased the Orange one.
Turns out the difference in then the blue one has a knob for depth adjustment on the trim base.
*** BOTH HAVE THE WORST DEPTH TURRET IMPLEMENTATION ONE CAN IMAGINE !!! ***
It wobbles like a drunken sailor and is is unreliable, non-receptive with cupped adjustment screws.
I replaced said screws with M5 by 20 mm Hex cap screws for some improvement.
Nice thing is you can make your own larger base for the router. And you still won't have a lot of money in the tool
I can’t find it in Amazon
They're getting cheaper! minus extras for under $30
Matt, new rumor has it that Sawstop is going to give away/give up its patient????
I’ve got a grizzly 15 inch planer
Vevor makes some decent stuff, and some not so decent stuff..... i.e. bought their 10pk of 4ft linkable LED ceiling mount shop lights, great light output but cheaply made and priced accordingly. Bought their solar parking lot light - charged it for 3 days, Incredible output first 4 hours after install, was almost dead by morning and would not recharge - returned for refund. Got a couple other items that work fine, and about to order their 1 ton heavy duty manual arbor press to try out.
$56.00??? REALLY??? I don't need another router,, But I might need one of these.. That little plunge base might be real handy...
"Fat bottom base makes the walnut trim go round!!"
To me, it looks like someone was watching "Honey I Shrunk the KIds" and took a Titan router and shrunk it..
It looks a lot like the Makita
Well I bought one….the dang collet or arbor is warped…crap
This looks almost exactly like my Makita trim router - hmmmm.

$45 on ebay with free shipping
Yes, indeed. I saw that pricing also ($44.79 + free shipping). Found it via the CapitalOne Shopping extension.
Good video - thumbs up. Clickbait title … booo! Thumbs down.
But if you watched and enjoyed the video, was it really “clickbait”?
But did you know about this router? If not then how could it be click bait. 🤷🏻
I never heard of this router. Glad I know about it now, as a 61 year old (basically) beginner! Thanks, Matt!
Just another knock off from China. I remember Matt telling us not to buy knockoffs
Another "99% of Woodworkers" video..... I'm starting to wonder if these titles are AI generated! Ha.
You know the saying…60% of statistics are simply made up.
I'll just call this a Fake-ita router.
Thanks for the tip! Just ordered this and the bits. 🫡
