Is this a parody of "the grapes od wrath"? I'm seriously asking I haven't have read that book, only know the name and generalities describe in Wikipedia, and it kinda looks alike I don't know if this is one of those silly but inteligente parodies that would fly by my children lack of knowledge, or just a random theme and situations
Not really. It's just making fun at the idea of farmers wanting a drought so they can have a "dust crop", and cursing rain since that can make the land fertile. The dust bowl was certainly a thing, but there was nothing like this scene in the Grapes of Wrath movie/book. As far as I remember, at least.
@faithmiller3796 The Grapes of Wrath is a book about Oklahoma farmers leaving their farmland during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s to find work. Bad weather and farming practices essentially made the farmland regions of the western United States inoperable, and combined with The Great Depreasion, things were absolutely horrible for the farmers. A lot of the farmers in this region traveled to California thinking there might be opportunity there. A movie was made based off the book in 1940. There is an episode of South Park where the internet goes out and everyone leaves their home to try and find more internet. That heavily parodies The Grapes of Wrath. In fact, the scene where they're all in a camp talking about how there wont be enough internet to spread around is a direct reference to a scene from the movie.
This show really shaped/warped my mind as a kid hahahaha
