This film and The Thing are toss ups for my favorite John Carpenter movie. I've thought about 'crossover' actors for those movies. For example, Frank Doubleday as Palmer in The Thing. Maybe Kieth David as Wells in Assault on Precinct 13? Or, quite a stretch, but Kurt Russell as Wilson in Assault on Precinct 13? Just something to "what if" as you're watching these two awesome movies.
My favourite films of all time: 1. Assault on Precinct 13 2. The Warriors 3. Southern Comfort 4. 28 Days Later You don't need massive budgets to make classic films. Carpenter and Hill were fantastic directors.
Wow asking me to pick my fav JC movie and soundtrack is like asking a mum and dad to pick there fav child. But this is harder to choose way harder for me to difficult to say the list of J C movies and utterly fantastic soundtrack to his brilliant movies goes on and on and on love the man he is a utter GENIUS my all time film maker etc etc JOHN CARPENTER may you live FOREVER ... Tony from Edinburgh / Scotland " The man is sick " lol
Right at the start of the video, Austin Stoker's age, date of birth, date/age of death.... Totally slaughtered! I guess I'm the only one with remedial math skills who's been able to figure that out-or at least the first to comment on it? I mean, a couple of years off is understandable, but 13 years off? 🙄
I noticed that too. His date of birth and age given are way off. Plus the age of some of the other actors when the movie was made, they look way older than that. The guy who ran into the police station for help looks alot older than 39.
Very interested and very nice video you made Nostalgia Hit!❤❤❤❤❤❤ Fun fact about Neil Patrick Harris in Starship Troopers (1997), he was in 2 of The Smurfs movies in he also did the voice of Steve the monkey from Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs 1 and 2. One question: Are you a SpongeBob SquarePants fan like me? If so, what is your favorite character(s) or episode(s) from SpongeBob SquarePants?❤❤❤❤❤❤
Favorite JC flick hands down is Escape from NY. Snake Pliskin kicks ass! The Thing is killer too. I liked AOP13 because the violence was so over the top and so pointless that it made it fucking hilarious!! Especially on acid. 🚬😆🤘
Wow…I didn’t know the sheriff who’s standing at the front desk with a admin girl when the black officer gets to the precinct, is Barnaby from March of the Wooden soldiers from 34’….crazy 😮
🤔🤔🤔 al señor Frank Doubleday lo ví en algún capítulo de la serie THE INCREÍBLE HULK ...junto Bill Bixby, hacía el papel de matón danny mafioso. Q.E.P.D FRANK DOUBLEDAY
Watched it again with my son. Great atmosphere of a hot oppressive LA summers night.
Frank Doubleday was my acting coach in the 2000's at the Hollywood Court Theatre when I lived in LA. A wonderful, sincere, and caring teacher.
Love this movie, then The Thing and Escape from New York.

Austin Stokes was perfect though
@@Napoleonwilson1973 Absolutely! Couldn't replace the lead in either movie.
Well, this is my favorite JC flick. It was considered pretty brutal when it was first released.
Hell, it's still brutal.
This information is all wrong! Austin Stoker was born in 1930, meaning he was 46 when the movie was released.
This is by far my favorite Carpenter film. Thanks for the video.
One of the best films ever made by John carpenter, never get tired of watching this movie, I had the hots for Laurie Zimmer
Great film
Great Carpenter flick. I saw it, on VHS, when it, came out. They could never remake this great film.
Got a smoke ?
This was put together very well and was very interesting! Thankyou!
I liked White Warlords sleeveles black t-shirt and got one too.
Leigh Zimmer was a fox. I think those one-credit warlords were real warlords.
My favourite films of all time:
1. Assault on Precinct 13
2. The Warriors
3. Southern Comfort
4. 28 Days Later

Man darf den Soundtrack von John Carpenter in dem Film nicht vergessen, ein absolutes Meisterwerk...
Too many to list. I love JCs movies and music. A true legend.
Awesome, Assault No Precinct 13 , 1976. 🎸🎸🎸⛽⛽⛽🐱

Possibly Carpenter's best movie for great acting from all the main characters.
GREAT movie!!!!
I love them all. I recently rewatched this masterpiece. But my favorite is the Thing. Halloween is a very close second.
my Favorite John Carpenter film Escape from New York

This is a good movie. The remake is pretty good also.
My favorite John Carpenter movie is Halloween.
Halloween with gangs instead of MM. Saw it on HBO at 17. Whole school was talking about the next day.

Austin Stoker was born in 1930
That would make him how old in 1976?
Assault On Precinct 13, and any movie he did with Kurt Russell in it.
Dark Star .
Pointless story; clunky acting, and really poor dialogue. Why is this film so popular?
Score, violence, atmosphere.
This movie is one of many "Alamo " versions and most of them became popular.
Not a fan of art and depth , eh!
